Ch.142Giving My All! (6)

“Let’s go to the amusement paaark! Hurry uuup!”
Aisha, dressed in neat, comfortable clothes like any Earth child, was tugging on Dexter’s arm and throwing a tantrum since morning.
“Hey, we need to eat breakfast first. And Judy probably isn’t up yet.”
Dexter, who was eating not just cereal with milk but also scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage, continued scooping up his eggs without budging despite Aisha pulling on his arm.
“Tell her to get up now!”
“Aisha, no tantrums. Come sit down with Dex and eat your breakfast.”
“Sheesh. Why does Jessie always take his side?”
“Well, I am Dexter’s girlfriend. Didn’t you say bacon was delicious last time? Come sit down and eat.”
When Jessie picked up Aisha and sat her in a chair, Aisha began nibbling at her breakfast with a pouty face.
“What if the amusement park closes while we’re waiting? A comet could hit Earth right now! Or what if Coscolteras Lombotriks stomps on the amusement park? Or…”
Dexter frowned at Aisha as she suddenly started expressing outlandish opinions in the middle of breakfast.
“Aisha, eat. Just eat. And where on Earth would you find a Coscolteras Lombotriks?”
“It could happen…”
Aisha replied with a cowed expression in response to Dexter’s sharp tone.
“I told you I won’t take you if you keep throwing tantrums like that.”
“But…”
“Besides, the amusement park opens at 10, and it’s only 8 now. Let’s wait just one hour before we go.”
“Tch.”
As Aisha picked up her fork and resumed eating, Jessie stroked her head and said:
“You really want to go that badly?”
“I’m just curious what Earth amusement parks are like.”
Jessie nodded at this and looked at Dexter.
“We’re going to Adventure Dome today, right?”
“Yeah. That place in front of the hotel.”
Jessie smiled lightly and comforted Aisha.
“It’s actually quite big, so if you don’t eat a proper breakfast, you might collapse from hunger. Then you’ll have less time to enjoy yourself, Dexter will get angry, and Judy will be disappointed too.”
“Why would I get angry…”
As Dexter tried to protest being suddenly mentioned, Jessie silenced him with a look before continuing.
“So… if Aisha finishes all her food and even eats dessert, that won’t happen, right?”
“…Fine. I’ll eat, okay?”
Jessie and Dexter laughed lightly as they watched Aisha eat hurriedly, much faster than before.
“Good morning… everyone’s up early…”
The front door opened, and Id-ya appeared with a tired face.
“Still not adjusted to the 24-hour day?”
Dexter asked as he finished his meal and downed his glass of milk in one go.
“No… the planet where the Chairman lives has 36-hour days…”
“Just hang in there a few more days.”
“Haah…”
As Id-ya flopped down on the sofa instead of answering, Jessie stood up and headed toward the kitchen.
“Would you like some coffee? We also have tea bags if you prefer.”
“Huh? Oh… coffee? That would be fine.”
Seeing Id-ya’s reaction as if she had never tried coffee before, Jessie said suspiciously:
“Dexter, is it okay for Id-ya to drink coffee?”
“I don’t know. Should be fine, right?”
Even Dexter wasn’t sure if caffeine was safe for aliens from the planet Yogsothos.
“Hmm, I’m not comfortable with that. I’ll give you orange juice instead.”
“Too bad. Jessie’s morning coffee is the best.”
“…Please don’t tease me.”
While Dexter was teasing Id-ya, it soon became time for their appointment.
Dexter and the other two left the house and headed to Summerlin in the pickup truck to meet Judy.
As soon as Dexter parked in front of Judy’s house, the front door swung open and a bright-faced Judy waved at Dexter.
“Hello! …Oh?”
Seeing an unfamiliar blonde beauty in the passenger seat, Judy looked confused, glancing back and forth between Dexter and Id-ya before awkwardly stopping.
“Id-ya, go sit in the back with Aisha. Good morning, Ms. Judy.”
Dexter shooed Id-ya away and patted the passenger seat, gesturing for Judy to sit down.
“Yes, um, good morning?”
“Why the question mark?”
“Is she… your girlfriend?”
Dexter chuckled at Judy, who was looking at him uncomfortably despite having taken the passenger seat.
“She’s Aisha’s nanny.”
“Nanny?”
“Well, Aisha comes from a wealthy family, and her parents are very busy.”
“Oh, I see. You’d need someone to look after the child when you go to work. That makes sense.”
Judy, who had maintained a stiff expression at Dexter’s words, quickly relaxed and nodded with a bright smile.
“You must have it tough, Aisha?”
“No. It’s because I throw tantrums.”
Aisha said with a slight pout.
“Tantrums?”
“Well, um… I threw a tantrum to my dad… saying I wanted to meet Dexter…?”
Although Aisha’s answer ended in a question mark, Judy didn’t seem suspicious and just nodded with a gentle smile.
“You must have really missed Dexter to do that. Let’s have fun together later, okay?”
“Have you had breakfast?”
“Huh? Oh, yes. I had something light.”
The Adventure Dome Theme Park wasn’t far from Summerlin to the Strip.
While the two made small talk, they soon arrived at the amusement park.
Since Adventure Dome Theme Park was an indoor amusement park shaped like a dome as its name suggested, Aisha, who had gotten out of the car, showed obvious disappointment.
“Where’s the amusement park?”
“It’s inside that big building, obviously.”
“Are there only kiddie rides inside?”
“Aren’t you a kid too?”
“I’m not a kid!”
“If you keep shouting like that inside, I’ll leave you behind.”
“Tch!”
When Aisha tried to kick Dexter, Judy, who was watching from behind, picked her up with both hands and said:
“You shouldn’t treat your brother like that.”
“But he called me a kid first…”
Judy whispered in the whining Aisha’s ear.
“This is when you should act mature around your brother so he doesn’t see you as a child.”
“Really?”
Dexter smiled as he watched Judy using the child’s rebellious nature.
“Of course it’s true. Tell your brother you won’t throw tantrums if he gives you a piggyback ride. He’ll like that, right?”
“Will you really give me a piggyback ride?”
“Geez.”
When Dexter crouched down as if doing her a favor, Aisha jumped up and sat on his shoulders.
“Whoa-whoa-whoa!”
“Stop wiggling or you’ll get hurt.”
“…Can you give a third-grader a piggyback ride so effortlessly?”
“Look at me.”
Dexter approached Judy, who was impressed by his strength, and spun around with his arms stretched out.
“With this build and these muscles, is there anything I can’t do?”
“Are you proud of that?”
“Of course I am.”
Judy gave a simple smile at Dexter’s confidence and pointed to the entrance of the amusement park.
“Let’s go now.”
“Yesss!”
As they were finally able to enter the amusement park, Aisha started stomping her feet in excitement.
“Hey, hey! Don’t move your feet like that when you’re on my shoulders!”
“If you yell, the child will cry.”
“This one needs to cry a little.”
Aisha pouted at Dexter’s cold words.
Adventure Dome Theme Park was an indoor amusement park with a desert theme, based on the concept of the nearby red rock formations.
The dome part was made of red glass, creating an atmosphere that felt like sunset even in the middle of the day.
“Brother, I want to ride this! This one!”
“Aisha, I told you not to bounce up there.”
“She seems to be having fun.”
“Ah, I can’t even scold her properly.”
When Dexter made a troubled face, Judy pointed to herself and said:
“Dexter, if it’s hard for you to move around, should I go with Aisha?”
“You, Ms. Judy?”
Judy nodded at Dexter’s question.
“You might not find it difficult, but it’s uncomfortable, right? Oh, I don’t mean Aisha is uncomfortable.”
“Would you rather go with her?”
Dexter looked up at Aisha and asked, and she grinned.
“Let’s play together!”
“Alright then.”
After Dexter put Aisha down, Judy took her hand.
As the two headed toward the nearest attraction, Id-ya looked at them with concern and said:
“Will Miss Aisha be alright?”
“Why are you asking me that?”
“Pardon?”
“Obviously you need to stick close to them.”
“Me?”
“Who else would do it?”
“But Ms. Jessie and Agent Libero said you two were close…”
“Id-ya, you stay close to them, and I’ll watch from a few steps back. That’s how it should be.”
Id-ya nodded at Dexter’s opinion.
“That seems… reasonable.”
“If you understand, hurry up and follow those two.”
While Id-ya might appear to be a fragile beauty to others, as someone who had served as security near Eliya, she was one of the most trustworthy people apart from Dexter.
‘She must be excellent at security to have been chosen by Eliya.’
Standing at a distance from the three, Dexter could finally take in the sight of them, and the composition looked quite peculiar.
‘It really does look awkward.’
Id-ya and Judy, who were sticking close together, didn’t look like friends, nor did they look like a lesbian couple or a married couple.
At best, they looked like two cousins walking with an older cousin.
‘Judy really does look young from this perspective.’
But she was the oldest woman Dexter was dating.
‘Maybe I should use a body correction device to make her face look older… no, that wouldn’t be right.’
While Dexter was lost in thought, the three were running around ahead.
At the very front was Aisha with sparkling eyes.
Behind her was Judy, who thought Aisha was adorably cute.
And last was Id-ya, who complained verbally but whose face showed she was actually enjoying herself.
‘Acting like you don’t like it when you actually do.’
Dexter smiled as he looked at Id-ya’s face.
Suddenly, the three stopped and were looking at an amusement park map they had brought.
Aisha had told Judy she was thirsty and wanted a drink.
Soon, Judy and Aisha found a nearby snack bar and ordered drinks.
“What would you like?”
“One ginger ale and… one of those sodas over there, please.”
The snack bar employee handed Judy two drinks and said:
“Have fun with your little sister.”
“Excuse me?”
“The child next to you.”
When the smiling female employee pointed at Aisha, Judy frowned and said:
“Um, she’s not my sister…?”
As Judy showed signs of embarrassment, the female employee also looked flustered and said:
“Oh, I’m sorry. You just look so young.”
“Hehehe.”
Dexter, who had been following at a distance and witnessed this, chuckled, causing Judy to blush and say:
“I’m not a child!”
“Wow, you sound exactly like Aisha.”
“…!”
Since this was something she experienced often and knew well herself, Judy could only blush.
As the three enjoyed various attractions and had fun, Dexter’s sixth sense tingled.
He noticed suspicious movement from a man who was closely following the three.
At first glance, he looked like an ordinary young man who seemed timid.
But Dexter’s instincts told him otherwise.
‘Trembling eyes, awkward movements, the position of his hand holding the phone…’
Most likely a pickpocket or…
‘Or a pervert trying to take upskirt photos.’
With a stern expression, Dexter strode toward the man.
