Ch.13[Chapter 13] Event Stage!

Sir Dominic wanted to finish Area 2 today.

Thinking he still had enough energy left, he pressed 2-4 and entered the final stage of Area 2.

‘Actually, the final stage isn’t much.’

The Baroness’s words echoed in his ears.

Hopefully it would be nothing special as she said.

As he entered the stage, the environment changed once again.

This time it was a long, narrow corridor—not particularly antique, but a place covered entirely with clean white tiles and small potted plants placed at intervals.

[Follow the path. Don’t forget to prepare the card you received from the previous stage.]

Following the system window’s guidance, Sir Dominic took out his card, held it in his hand, and walked down the corridor.

It didn’t take long to reach the end of the corridor, but Sir Dominic found himself stuck.

The end of the corridor was blocked, and there seemed to be nowhere else to go.

    “This is rather perplexing.”

    Just then.

A refreshing sound echoed through the corridor.

Sir Dominic thought the sound was like a small bell.

As the sound echoed through the corridor creating a subtle reverberation, a door appeared at the previously blocked end of the corridor.

He didn’t know when it had appeared. Even Sir Dominic, who had been staring at the wall continuously, felt as if the door had been there all along.

There was a sign on the door that read “Next person, please enter,” and below it hung a small bell, which seemed to be the source of the bell sound he had just heard.

Sir Dominic opened the door as instructed and went inside.

The door had something black and fluid-like, similar to what he had seen at System Industries. Having experienced this before, Sir Dominic was about to walk through mindlessly but stopped.

    ‘Jump when entering.’

v.a.l.l.o.c.’s words flashed through Sir Dominic’s mind.

Right. He had told me to jump when entering.

Sir Dominic jumped into the blackness.

    [Loading]

    [Calling the Dimensional Gate Manager…]

[7 missed calls are piling up for the Dimensional Gate Manager…]

[The Dimensional Gate Office Manager is scolding the Dimensional Gate Manager…]

The feeling of these strange texts passing by still felt new no matter how many times he saw them.

Sir Dominic suddenly realized that something besides the black text had appeared in this white space.

A picture of palm trees and the sea, along with a simple sofa.

It seemed like nothing special, but just glancing at it gave him a sense of comfort.

“It seems they really did fix it.”

Sir Dominic remembered the employees who had been trapped in the loading screen during the emergency at System Industries.

They had definitely talked about the loading screen while inside it.

Thinking about various things makes time seem to pass quickly.

Before he knew it, Sir Dominic had finished loading and arrived at a new place.

    “Oh, yes. Welcome.”

A space similar to the office he had seen at System Industries.

The only difference was that this space contained just one desk and one person sitting behind it.

“First, I’d like to welcome you to Gachaland. You’ve probably been here for a while, but technically your first day in Gachaland begins after passing through here.”

The man wearing flowing judicial robes that imperial officials might wear pushed up his glasses, which were so thick his eyes weren’t visible.

As his glasses moved slightly, his eyes were briefly visible, and the area around them seemed to be bruised blue.

“Well. Could you give me your card first? We need to register and ask questions simultaneously to save time.”

The man extended his hand across the desk.

Sir Dominic placed his card on the man’s hand.

The man took the card and began entering something on a thin, rectangular glass panel on the desk.

    “Name… Sir Dominic of Ferallant… 1 Star… 3 Cost…”

The man, who had been copying exactly what was on Sir Dominic’s card, flipped it over.

“Oh? You’re a tanker. And you have a buff skill too.”

The man let out an admiring exclamation.

“You were born with a golden spoon. Starting with a golden spoon from the beginning.”

    Golden spoon.

This was the first time Sir Dominic had heard such a term.

He had vaguely heard that nobles were born with silver spoons, but “golden spoon” was an unfamiliar phrase.

“Well. Everything looks fine. No criminal record during your stay. And I see you’re already employed at System Industries. You must live quite diligently.”

With those words, the man returned the card.

Sir Dominic took the card and placed it in a small pocket inside his clothes.

“Just one more question and we’re done. Are you an adult?”

“If you mean after the coming-of-age ceremony, then yes.”

    “Then, well, that’s it.”

At that moment, a system window appeared before his eyes and began to make a sound.

This was a situation he had never seen before.

    [Event week has arrived!]

    [This event is ‘Super Deluxe’!]

[For the next week, collect event currency through event stages and exchange them for rare items that are hard to find!]

[Please check the announcement board for details!]

    “Ah, this again?”

The man in front of him sighed.

Since Sir Dominic had no idea what was going on, he asked the man.

    “What exactly is this event?”

    “Ah.”

The man realized that Sir Dominic was a Newbie to Gachaland.

“It’s nothing special. Just an event, as it says. Something to add tension to people’s relaxed awareness, I suppose.”

The man spoke as if it were obvious, but Sir Dominic didn’t understand at all.

“You’ll understand when you experience it. When you experience it. It’s quite good when you try it for the first time.”

    “An event…”

It seemed that to truly understand what an event was, he would need to experience it firsthand.

“How do I participate in the event?”

Instead, Sir Dominic decided to ask about the most basic thing.

“It starts automatically. Whether you want it or not.”

    “Automatic participation, I see.”

“You seem interested in the event.”

    The man grumbled.

“The event itself is quite fun. The problem is what happens during the event period.”

    “What kind of…?”

    “Excuse me.”

The man firmly cut off Sir Dominic’s words.

    He seemed somewhat annoyed.

“There are about two people waiting behind you right now. And one of them is returning from a dangerous area, so it will take longer.”

“You haven’t even told me if I passed or failed.”

The man flinched at Sir Dominic’s words, feeling caught, and spoke roughly.

    “You passed. You passed.”

The man raised his voice to hide his embarrassment and pointed to a door that appeared on the right side of the desk.

“If you go out that way, you’ll officially become a citizen of Gachaland. Congratulations. Good job.”

Having quickly said what he needed to say, the man seemed to have no intention of continuing the conversation.

Sir Dominic had no choice but to stand up, open the door, and exit.

[Congratulations! You have cleared all of Area 2!]

[As a reward, you receive 2 Mount Exchange Ticket Fragments (2/10)!]

Sir Dominic smiled as he looked at the system window.

This world truly has more to learn the more you discover.

While thinking that and smiling to himself, another new window appeared.

    [Event: Super Deluxe!]

[Oh no! You have been exposed to the mutation device created by the villain Super Deluxe!]

[Super Deluxe is trying to make you small to restrict your power!]

[Can you neutralize Super Deluxe’s device and return to your original form?]

[And can you teach Super Deluxe a lesson?]

[Please check the announcement board for details!]

    Announcement board.

Sir Dominic wanted to check the announcement board but didn’t know where to find it.

With no other option, Sir Dominic approached a passerby.

“If it’s not too much trouble, could you tell me how to view the announcement board?”

“Huh? You don’t even know that! Are you a Newbie!”

The man, who had his head thrust forward in a grotesque manner, shouted in a scratchy voice.

“You don’t know that you can access the announcement board by pressing the book icon on the back of your card!”

The thug, who was glaring at Sir Dominic as if he wanted to devour him, rummaged through his pocket and threw something at Sir Dominic.

“If you’re a Newbie, it’s good to see you asking for help quickly, so keep doing that!”

Sir Dominic stared blankly at the person whose behavior was unclear whether it was rude or kind.

Even if individuality is important, is that kind of behavior acceptable?

Sir Dominic felt that he still had a long way to go to adapt to Gachaland.

By the way, what was this pouch? Sir Dominic opened it.

Inside were 10 high-grade potions called “Potions Useful for Beginners.”

Along with a note saying, ‘Sorry I couldn’t give you more because I’m broke!’

Suddenly feeling happy, Sir Dominic remembered that he had been trying to check the event.

“Let’s see. Book icon on the back of the card…”

As the kind person had said, icons that he hadn’t seen in 2-3 had appeared on the back of the card.

They seemed to have been activated after passing through 2-4 and obtaining citizenship.

Among the many icons, he pressed the book icon, and a window labeled “Announcement Board” appeared.

Sir Dominic clicked on the post titled “Super Deluxe!”

    [Super Deluxe!]

[Oh no! Super Deluxe has turned you into an adorable 3-head-tall chibi!]

[You must stop Super Deluxe’s plans through event stages!]

[This event will run for one week, and you can receive special rewards once a day by entering the event stage daily.]

[Collect currency in the event stages. You can purchase rare items that are difficult to obtain with event currency.]

[Caution! This event starts in 00:00!]

Before he could finish reading the announcement, Sir Dominic felt his perspective suddenly change.

Instead of seeing from his usual height, he began to see the world as if his eyes were at knee level.

Startled, Sir Dominic quickly closed the window and looked around.

Everyone in Gachaland had been transformed into cute, chibi 3-head-tall characters.
