Ch.137[Chapter 137] Trial

Sir Dominic, who had fought with Trom all night long, stored the rewards sent by the Executive branch and Leonardo in his warehouse to maintain his daily routine before finally going to sleep.

    “…I must have been tired.”

Yet Sir Dominic slept 10 minutes longer than usual.

Sir Dominic got up from bed, rotating his stiff shoulders from the extra sleep.

Now I’ll do morning training, check the rewards, and then rest a bit more, thought Sir Dominic.

He had told Alice to take the day off, so Sir Dominic was planning to get plenty of rest too.

Until someone suddenly knocked on his door.

“Are you there? Sir Dominic? Are you there?”

Sir Dominic got up from his seat at the sound of someone calling him and headed to the entrance.

When he opened the door, a familiar angel was standing there.

    “Ah, you are here.”

The angel who often visited with Heaven’s Delivery politely greeted him by slightly lifting his hat.

Sir Dominic looked around to check if there was a package, but there was nothing, let alone a delivery.

“Well… I’m not here for a delivery today. Actually, I’m off duty today.”

The angel awkwardly scratched his halo.

Sir Dominic’s gaze naturally moved to the hat.

Instead of the usual Heaven’s Delivery marked hat, he was wearing a hat with “A.A Badgers” written on it at a slight angle.

    “Then why are you here?”

Sir Dominic couldn’t understand the angel’s visit.

They weren’t even on speaking terms unless there was a delivery.

He didn’t think they were close enough for such a sudden visit.

    “Um… well…”

The angel dragged his words as if troubled.

And finally, as if having made up his mind, he sighed deeply and said to Sir Dominic:

“Would you consider doing a reprint?”

    “Reprint?”

    A reprint?

Sir Dominic was puzzled by the angel’s words.

What did he mean by reprint? Who was being reprinted?

“What do you mean by reprint? Whose reprint?”

Sir Dominic couldn’t bear the curiosity and asked the angel.

    “Oh.”

The angel made a dumbfounded sound.

“No, I mean a character card reprint.”

The angel corrected Sir Dominic’s misunderstanding.

“Right now, interest in Sir Dominic is at its peak. There are countless people who want your card.”

The angel cleared his throat, deliberately swallowing the words “including my boss.”

“But from what we know, only 7 people have Sir Dominic’s card. Many people want it, but only 7 people have your card.”

Isn’t that too unfair? the angel grumbled.

Sir Dominic fell into thought after hearing the angel’s complaints.

It wasn’t that he didn’t understand what the angel was saying.

Or rather, in a way, he didn’t understand.

Who on earth would want Sir Dominic’s character card, and why?

Above all, Sir Dominic wanted to draw a new card after reaching 3 stars.

Remember the promise with Epic Anderson?

The promise to create dedicated music when Sir Dominic reached 3 stars.

Strictly speaking, it was a dedication song, but it was essentially the same as creating exclusive music.

Shouldn’t he show a better image to increase his value even a little?

Sir Dominic was somewhat aware of his own value, but he was still greatly misjudging it.

“I’d rather reach 3 stars before producing a new character card.”

    “Ah.”

The angel nodded as if understanding.

“There are people like that. Those who think repeating the same thing two or three times decreases its value.”

Sir Dominic had no such thoughts, but the angel seemed to have come to that conclusion on his own.

“So, you’ll make a new character card when you reach 3 stars?”

The angel asked Sir Dominic as if confirming.

Sir Dominic couldn’t bring himself to say he wasn’t interested, so he nodded.

“That’s right. But the Tier Evaluation is months away.”

    “Don’t worry about that. Let’s see… Yes. You’re 3 stars.”

    “…?”

The angel’s eyes flashed gold for a moment before returning to normal.

And he was telling Sir Dominic that he was 3 stars.

Sir Dominic stared blankly at the angel, unable to understand his words.

    “…Did you raise my tier?”

Sir Dominic asked in a dumbfounded voice.

The angel tilted his head at Sir Dominic’s question, then realizing what he meant, hurriedly waved his hands.

“No. Uh… I mean, you’re already confirmed as 3 stars… Ah, how should I explain this.”

Mortals don’t know about these minor skills, do they? the angel muttered, rolling his eyes as he organized his thoughts before explaining to Sir Dominic.

“We can see the souls of mortals. The feel of the soul? Its form? We identify people by such things. It’s called a soul, but it’s actually a mass of information that constitutes you… something like that. It’s hard to explain this in mortal terms. Anyway, your soul is already 3 stars. That means your 3-star status is already predetermined.”

    The angel continued rambling.

“Have you received any rewards? If you don’t believe me, check them. I’m sure it will confirm you’re 3 stars.”

The angel looked confidently into Sir Dominic’s eyes.

Sir Dominic recalled the reward from the Executive branch at the angel’s words.

Rewards he had received but not yet checked.

    “Wait a moment.”

Sir Dominic opened the door and went to his warehouse.

He remembered putting the rewards somewhere here before going to bed last night.

And soon after finding the rewards, Sir Dominic opened the reward bundle.

[Congratulations! You have defeated Boss Senator Trom alone.]

[This is an excessively high achievement (★★★★) compared to your tier (★★).]

[You will receive a 30-point bonus in each tier evaluation until your tier matches your achievement level.]

[With the Executive branch’s reward, you can immediately advance to ★★★ without evaluation.]

[At the request of the Executive branch, you gain the following traits:]

[[Rider], [Knight Banneret], [Steampunk], [Field Commander]]

[Only one trait can be used at a time. You can change them anytime when not in combat, but cannot change during combat.]

    [[Rider]: When riding a mount-]

System messages scrolled up so fast it made his eyes dizzy.

Sir Dominic fixed his gaze on the message saying his tier had increased.

Sir Dominic took out a card from his pocket and checked his tier.

    Three stars.

Sir Dominic looked up at the angel.

The angel nodded with a smug expression as if to say “See?”

“So now, will you do the reprint?”

The angel smiled a holy smile.

It was a bright and radiant smile that seemed to say, You said you’d make a new card when you reached 3 stars, surely you won’t go back on your word?

Sir Dominic was confused by the situation but simply nodded.

Because he had given his word.

However, there was still something bothering him, so Sir Dominic mentioned it to the angel.

“I need to inform Epic Anderson that I’ve reached 3 stars. And-“

    “Don’t worry about that.”

The angel said firmly but reassuringly.

“We’ll take care of everything. You just need to draw a new card.”

    Incredible pressure.

It was enough to make Sir Dominic take half a step back.

Whether aware of this fact or not, the angel smiled brightly.

Finally, he could escape his boss’s nagging.

    “Letter!”

A few days later, a letter arrived at Sir Dominic’s house.

The sender’s name was Epic Anderson.

    Sir Dominic opened the letter.

[Unbelievable! You have achieved beyond my expectations!]

[Undeniable. Here is a dedication song send for you.]

    [Epic Anderson.]

Epic Anderson, who had been contacted with the angel’s help, was as delighted about Sir Dominic’s promotion as if it were his own achievement and sent something small and square.

Sir Dominic struggled for a while not knowing what it was, but after searching on his phone, he found out it was a USB.

Since Sir Dominic didn’t have a computer at home to check it, he went ahead and bought one.

It had enough specifications for office use.

“Now it’s time to listen to the song.”

Sir Dominic inserted the USB into the computer.

And after struggling for a while to find where the file was, he succeeded in opening it with the help of another search.

Magnificent music began to flow from Sir Dominic’s computer.

    ♬♩♪

Sir Dominic was so overwhelmed by the magnificent orchestral music that he couldn’t say a word.

The music made one’s heart pound and ache with its grandeur.

Sir Dominic’s education was limited, so he didn’t know what genre this music would be called, but one thing was certain.

Even to Sir Dominic, it was a very magnificent and impressive piece of music.

After playing it fifteen times on repeat, Sir Dominic stared blankly at the ceiling, immersed in the lingering impression of the music.

Then, suddenly, Sir Dominic jumped up, opened the door, and went outside.

Perhaps he had fallen into what might be called a state of euphoria from the magnificence of the music.

Sir Dominic opened a portal to the city.

His destination was the card pack exchange.

His business was to register for the gacha pool.
