Ch.136Side Story 6. Kang Yerin Suspects Soulfre and Georgius

    Lord Jade was perplexed.

He was in a place called the Villain Museum. It was a location where one could see the history of villains and heroes at a glance, with artifacts on display.

There were various theories about the origins of the first villain and hero, but his name was proudly written in the most famously known battle to the public.

The legendary duo, Number One of Technique and Number Two of Power. The monitor repeatedly played their final battle where they fought desperately against the evil Lord Jade with Earth’s fate at stake.

    “What is all this?”

Lord Jade, who had been defeated by Number Two of Power in that battle and sealed on the lunar surface for decades, had expected Earth to change. He had also expected that the justice protected by heroes would have consumed the world.

But the history written in the museum was quite different from what he had thought.

Ability users, whose numbers had increased rapidly, had fallen to become weapons of political powers, and in the information age, heroes had become good material for entertainment.

The serious heroes who fought with just fists and kicks that Jade knew had long since died from the aftereffects of battle.

All that remained were clowns covered in all sorts of technology, flashy gimmicks, and effects.

Above all, what Jade couldn’t understand was:

“Is this world the result of being ruled by evil rather than justice?”

Lord Georgius of the evil organization Vengeance. He clearly claimed the same title as himself—”Lord of Evil.”

His exploits were displayed everywhere through monitors. He shows off his power, defeats monsters, saves the world, and receives public support.

Politicians kneel before him, and heroes are no match for him.

Wearing a belt, transforming into various forms, using cards to employ numerous skills, and creating flashy effects to fight stylishly—this was Georgius.

Jade captured that image clearly in his pupils.

    “…Oh.”

Jade didn’t know how to laugh. If he had, he would surely have let out a hollow laugh.

    “This is not evil.”

With his declaration, massive energy was released from his entire body encased in armor.

    BOOM!!

A huge explosion occurred, and in an instant, the museum where many people had been viewing exhibits turned to ashes. Screams arose from the sudden terror, and confusion began to permeate the atmosphere.

Jade raised his body into the air. His classically designed cape fluttered in the wind.

“Who the hell is that guy? Can everyone see him?”

    Ji Se-hwa furrowed her brow.

At the scene where the city was exploding like miniature toys, she caught sight of a humanoid enemy in the sky.

“It’s not a monster. Is it a villain?”

“There’s no data on a villain like that. It looks like the one that fell from the moon recently.”

Kang Yerin calmly scanned the enemy in response to Park Hayoung’s question.

“Whatever it is, let’s subdue it first. If a villain has caused terror, it’s a good opportunity to appeal to the public.”

    Shin Yukyong offered her opinion.

“That’s right, but my intuition tells me this doesn’t feel good. Let’s all be a little tense for once. Sea Lord Sentai, let’s go!”

With Sulphur’s call sign, five warriors spread out into the air. They approached surrounding the target like in formation flying.

The villain recognized the Sea Lord Sentai and slightly turned his head. It was a majestic appearance, like looking at insects.

Sulphur, who briefly made eye contact with him, unconsciously tensed up a bit. He felt as much pressure from him as from Georgius.

    “Eat this, bastard!!”

The Sea Lord Sentai charged forward vigorously with Ji Se-hwa at the lead. But.

    BOOM!

The villain caused an explosion. In an instant, all the heroes’ abilities were nullified, and they were thrown back, injured by the shockwave.

“Ugh! What kind of ability is this?!”

    “Type of ability…?”

Sulphur sensed something off. The impression he got from this brief exchange with the villain was very simple and straightforward.

    WHOOSH!

The roar of an engine sounded from afar. Sulphur spotted a black mecha flying toward this location at supersonic speed.

The mecha’s cockpit opened, and three figures jumped out.

    “Lu-a, please assist with flight.”

    “Leave it to me.”

    “Master, I’m going!”

Sentai Vengeance immediately took battle positions toward the villain.

It was Georgius, Dark Matter, and Boksil.

    “Just as I thought.”

The villain showed interest in Georgius. Only now did he recognize an “enemy.”

    “Hmm, this is rare.”

Georgius immediately charged toward the villain and threw a punch. It wasn’t an exploratory attack to assess the opponent—he went all out from the start.

    BOOM!

The villain blocked Georgius’s punch with energy.

Watching this, Sulphur unconsciously broke into a cold sweat.

‘He blocked it? Does Georgius know who this villain is?’

The battle continued. Dark Matter and Boksil provided support, but there was no sign of gaining the upper hand.

    BOOM!

Another large explosion occurred, and Georgius created some distance.

“Is this all it takes to call yourself the Lord of Evil?”

    “Haha, how arrogant.”

Georgius still had composure. That was natural. After all, he hadn’t even shown Armageddon yet.

Even so, there was no doubt that the villain before him was extremely powerful.

    “Aren’t you going to transform?”

“I’ll see what you do first, ‘former’ Lord Jade.”

Sulphur also had a hunch about that name.

    “Lord Jade…? No way.”

    Kang Yerin frowned. Sulphur understood.

“Lord Jade… The legendary villain who was vanquished by Number Two of Power 50 years ago. The first Lord of Evil. Seems like he’s managed to resurrect.”

“You mean he’s an old geezer? Can such an ancient guy even compete now?”

“Isn’t he doing exactly that? That strength isn’t normal.”

Ji Se-hwa and Shin Yukyong also observed the situation.

An ominous voice flowed from Lord Jade’s mouth.

“My organization embraced evil and trampled justice to conquer the world. But what is this world? Why do freedom and peace remain in a world dominated by evil?”

    Georgius snorted.

“Times have changed, old man. Do you even know what a smartphone is?”

“How foolish. All you need to do is dominate everything with power.”

“Is the dominance of evil synonymous with destruction? You’re the ignorant one. Don’t you even have an elementary school diploma?”

Georgius clenched his fist again. He activated his skills, and the team members supported with other skills. They were determined to end Jade immediately.

    Lord Jade shook his head.

“The weak learn deception. You and those heroes are all pathetic. Number One of Technique and Number Two of Power needed nothing but their fists and kicks.”

    “What outdated nonsense.”

“Behold. I too need nothing but this.”

As Vengeance charged in, Jade responded by releasing energy again.

Only bigger and stronger than before.

    BOOM!

The explosion’s range was much larger than before. Sensing danger, Park Hayoung pulled out a huge shield to protect the Sea Lord Sentai.

Sulphur protected Kang Yerin, who couldn’t get within range in time, and retreated.

    “Ugh.”

The explosion engulfed them. Sulphur’s vision went dark.

    ***

    “Haa, haa. Ugh.”

Kang Yerin grimaced in pain. Her right leg was crushed under collapsed building debris. Blood was seeping through the gap.

There was no light visible above her head. She was completely buried.

    “Huff, ARGH!!”

She tried to pull her leg out, but her position made it impossible. The debris from buildings weighing thousands of tons didn’t budge at all.

As she controlled her breathing through the pain, she heard thumping sounds.

It was right above her head. Soon the debris was cleared away, and her vision opened up.

    “Kang Yerin, are you alright?”

Yerin looked up. Through the gap, along with sunlight, she saw the face of a red dragon man.

Yerin confirmed that concern briefly appeared on his face. As soon as he found her, it immediately disappeared, returning to an expressionless state.

    “So you were here.”

Georgius stopped his actions as if uninterested.

    ‘As I thought.’

Seeing his behavior, Yerin’s suspicions turned to certainty.

While working with the Sea Lord Sentai, she had continuously felt something off about Sulphur and Georgius, and had been conducting her own investigation.

Georgius also noticed the change in Yerin’s expression. He quickly moved through the debris and approached her.

    “Kang Yerin.”

    “…Georgius.”

    “Why aren’t you nervous?”

    “What do you mean?”

“I asked why you’re not nervous in the worst situation, isolated with no escape, facing a powerful enemy like me.”

Yerin realized her mistake. Indeed, he was no ordinary person.

“I guess I’ll have to deal with you before going after Jade.”

“Deal with me? What do you—”

“Have you been traveling through the past?”

    Yerin bit her lip.

    That was correct.

She had recently begun to suspect that Sulphur was lying to her and the Dragon King Sentai.

In fact, she wondered if he might be a villain like Georgius.

Yerin had a way to gather information without being detected by anyone. She could use the yellow dragon to visit the past.

“You’re dangerous after all. You always have been.”

Georgius raised his fist. Yerin desperately shouted:

“What exactly are you and Sulphur after?! What’s your relationship? Are you using us and even Vengeance like chess pieces?!”

    “Do you need to know?”

Georgius coldly asked back. The answer came in the same voice, but from the opposite direction.

“She doesn’t need to. But it’s clear that if you kill Yerin, we’ll become unprecedented enemies, Georgius.”

Georgius looked up. A hero in a pure white suit was standing on the debris.

    “Sulphur….”

Yerin called his name as if spitting it out.

“And I’m curious too. Let’s make things clear while we’re at it. What exactly is our relationship?”

Sulphur removed his helmet and looked down at Georgius mockingly.

He too deactivated his dragon form and stood as Jung Ui-seok.
