Ch.135135. The Green Revolutionaries

One day, as I was assessing the current situation, I could draw a certain conclusion.

Currently, civilization throughout our galaxy is stagnant, and unless someone takes noticeable action, this stagnation will not change.

Alien civilizations are nothing more or less than minority tribes by cosmic standards in terms of size and technology, and humanity’s growth rate is being deliberately suppressed through my multiple artificial interventions.

Moreover, as my territory is gradually reaching the edge of the galaxy, there are increasing limitations on expansion beyond the galaxy, so I made a significant decision.

Finally, the time has come to cash in on the savings I’ve been diligently accumulating—I’ve reached the stage to ‘harvest’ the civilizations of various planets.

And the first step of this ‘harvest’ is to ensure that human forces cannot interfere with it recklessly.

That’s why I brought Teresia back, sending the entire galaxy into a frenzy, and then gradually eroded humanity’s influence by inciting disturbances on various planets.

The key here is to trigger these disturbances on planets with dictatorial regimes that have terrible public opinion or where human rights are ignored.

It’s only because of that damned autonomy that the Federation cannot intervene, but when revolutions occur on planets that the Federal government would gladly erase given the chance… they are mostly left alone.

Therefore, I was using various pre-arranged means to cause phenomena such as revolutions or raids—

And this Biden planet was selected as one of those targets.

    ※ ※ ※

Anyway, the culprit who turned this common agricultural planet for the wealthy into such a mess was a member of the “Green Revolutionaries” I mentioned before.

A carrot-headed revolutionary (with orange roots growing instead of hair), hiding in a secret base dug beneath the serfs’ residences, had slowly expanded a kind of new religion among the farmers, and then rapidly enlarged this cult with external support.

Using seeds implanted in heads, they achieved these feats, and when orders came from above, they began the “Green Revolution.”

Serfs with seeds implanted in their brains turned into monsters—hybrids of plants and animals—infecting normal serfs around them with spores. Those infected by these spores became rioters who appeared normal on the outside.

The combination of extremely violent temperament, vaguely remaining rationality, and bodies enhanced by psychic powers instinctively fueled by burning life energy was perfectly optimized for revolution.

Their literal disregard for their own bodies, monstrous strength, mental structure that made compromise unthinkable due to the seeds in their brains, plus an inherent vengeful spirit with self-destructive tendencies—it was essentially like producing revolution machines.

Of course, even with all this, it would be extremely difficult to defeat nobles armed with powered suits and heavy weapons while wielding mere farming tools.

But these nobles were no different from incompetent children who enjoyed war games rather than being soldiers or psychic users. To put it bluntly, apart from being equipped with first-class equipment and implants, the nobles on this planet were essentially no different from civilians.

Therefore, knowing better than anyone that nobles were nothing without their equipment, the revolutionary, after much deliberation, obtained self-destructing biologization viruses from the higher-ups (Teio).

The self-destructing biologization virus causes parts of the body to swell up like blisters. As the name suggests, these creatures self-destruct by stimulating nitroglycerine in their bodies, spraying mucus everywhere.

The mucus, containing chemical substances carefully mixed by Teio, was not only capable of dissolving living organisms but was especially specialized in breaking down metals and seeping into them to damage complex electronic components.

Thus, when the nobles carelessly allowed these creatures to approach, their powered suits were soaked in mucus, and their various high-end implants could not escape its effects.

The cutting-edge implants, each more expensive than a salaried worker’s lifetime earnings, became useless scrap metal, and the powered suits melted into a slimy mess, sticking to flesh that had also melted to the point of skin peeling off.

Ultimately, the nobles caught in the explosions were in such a terrible state that it was questionable why they were still alive, and the farming tools wielded by serfs who disregarded their own lives were no different from the scythes of death reapers.

Moreover, these were no ordinary farming tools.

To cultivate the vast farmlands manually, the basic material of these tools was plasteel, and sometimes plasma extensions were provided to destroy rock-like solid objects.

Therefore, metal that had become weakened after melting and resolidifying could easily be pierced by plasteel alloy hoes or plasma hammers, and the nobles all ended up dismembered and displayed on poles.

Of course, the planet was quite vast, so the revolutionary’s influence could only reach a limited area.

When other nobles noticed this terrible tragedy, they tried to suppress the uprising by bringing out various armored weapons and bipedal war machines they had kept in storage, but they had no idea.

Who could have predicted that the revolutionary hiding on this planet was actually a psychic user of first-class mercenary level, capable of facing an army alone?

Anyway, the revolutionary eventually single-handedly collapsed the nobles’ military forces.

They turned armored weapons into heaps of scrap metal with dissolving mucus rain, then sprayed gas containing toxic spores, turning the interiors of the perforated armored vehicles and powered suits into coffins.

They also assassinated commanders in advance or used mental psychic abilities to instigate conflicts between noble families, and finally concluded by summoning an artificial psychic entity called “Guardian of Nature” through a ritual.

This psychic entity, which possessed a body that assimilated with the surrounding natural environment like a giant made of nature, had maddening characteristics such as a mountain-like size and the ability to infinitely regenerate by absorbing the natural environment.

Moreover, just by walking around, it stimulated the growth of surrounding plants, and these rapidly growing plants would transform into plant monsters possessed by psychic entities if exposed to its influence for too long.

Thus, exactly four months after the Guardian of Nature manifested at the cost of 10,000 serfs’ souls, there were virtually no humans left on this planet—

And similar phenomena were occurring on various other planets.

    ※ ※ ※

Residential planets where kilometer-high buildings cover the entire surface are, quite predictably, textbook dystopian societies in more than nine out of ten cases.

The lowest levels are virtual hells where strange mutant alien creatures run wild unless periodically disinfected with fire, and order is maintained only in the middle-class residential areas about 100-200 meters down from the sky.

Most areas are divided into middle sections—where corrupt police either collaborate with local gangs or resolve all incidents with capital punishment, yet people can somehow survive—and lower sections that are completely lawless, where the average life span is 15 years and human flesh contaminated with heavy metals is considered good food.

The lower you go, the more hellish it becomes, almost like a dungeon… but recently, various incidents have been occurring on these planets.

Hive cults that had been hiding in the lower levels, where public authority is virtually non-existent, have somehow massively increased in size and begun to rise.

Most hive cults are armed with nothing more than cheap laser rifles that can barely fire one shot or simple tools, and occasionally they wear industrial powered suits (just exoskeletons) with welded metal plates.

But in this rebellion, quite uniquely, almost all hive cults employed similar biological weapons—somehow tamed monsters were actively mobilized.

These creatures, adapted to breed in the narrow environments inside residential planet buildings, were extremely difficult to deal with without heavy weapons, and their speed and ambush specialization made them very hard to eliminate.

Therefore, just as the human federation was struggling with the chaos engulfing these residential planets, which had been excellent sources of human resources and massive consumer bases,

News reached their ears that the monsters had once again begun active expansion.
