Ch.130Episode 28. MT (1)

“That’s it for today. Good work, everyone.”

Students from other classes who were following the same regimen as the special class were, as usual, collapsing and begging for potions. But no potions would be given to them. Knowing how hard they were working, I wanted to ensure their efforts wouldn’t be in vain.

In fact, some students marveled at how they could activate their skills more times than yesterday. And those students didn’t ask me for potions.

Currently, the special class was focusing on building stamina while developing skills and improving efficiency. Their training menu was much more difficult compared to other classes, and their energy consumption was at least twice as high. Yet not one of them complained.

Despite their occasional ridiculous antics, their attitude toward training was on a completely different level from other students.

“Everyone moved intensely today, so do some stretching and I’ll see you next week.”

Tomorrow was Friday. Since my lectures were only on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, their lessons would have to wait until next week.

“If anyone wants individual guidance, come find me at the annex training hall or the instructor’s office.”

No one answered. They probably didn’t have the energy to respond, and it seemed they didn’t want to voluntarily endure this hardship.

They might not realize it, but this is where the path to becoming a top hero diverges clearly from mediocrity. Once they enter active duty, they probably won’t even come close to matching the special class.

    “I-I have another lecture but I c-can’t walk…”

“Ah, I feel like I’m going to die tomorrow.”

Students mumbled to themselves as they left the training hall one by one. After the lecture ended, only the special class students remained. Every one of them was drenched in sweat but kept moving without rest.

In particular, Koo Yeonhwa was developing a new technique, using her Black Fire in a telekinetic manner. She was using Black Fire to bring distant objects to her. Unlike condensing and releasing power, using telekinesis required continuous maintenance of power, demanding precise control.

    “Ah…! One more time…!”

She tried to lift a bench with Black Fire, but dropped it due to its considerable weight. Despite her sigh of frustration, she kept trying.

In Yoo Ari’s case, she was learning a new skill called “Foresight.” It was the power to predict the next move of someone her energy had touched.

This required analyzing habits during combat. Once she identified the habits of five or more opponents, she would acquire this skill.

So Yoo Ari was assigned a menu focused on sparring. She was continuously rotating through matches with the special class members.

Jung Iyeon had already obtained “God’s Blessing,” which made her stronger when hit, and was preparing for her next skill through “Sacred Item Modification.” She was preparing an area-of-effect attack that could sweep an entire area at once.

Yeon Moohee had yet to infuse the power of the Lotus Dragon into all the swordsmanship and sword energy techniques of the Lotus Style.

Everyone was progressing day by day, so there would surely be good results in a few months. Still, I couldn’t let them push themselves too hard.

“Kids! Are you going to keep going?”

“J-just a little bit longer, sir!”

I really can’t dislike these special class kids. Despite their occasional foolishness.

    * * *

“As you’ve all heard, the MT is scheduled for October 12th and 13th. We’ve decided on a two-day, one-night trip.”

This MT was originally supposed to happen in the middle of the first semester. After being canceled due to the assassination incident, I thought it would be postponed indefinitely, but it seems the situation has improved considerably.

“Basically, the class instructors will manage their students, but this time, one S-class hero has specially agreed to provide security.”

    An S-class hero…?

They’re all known for their terrible tempers.

I just hoped it wouldn’t be Lotus Dragon. That guy would probably keep challenging me to fights if we met.

    “Who is this S-class hero?”

Kang Chan asked the student dean. He glanced at me as well.

Does he think I’m the security detail?

I am an S-class, true. But I’m officially the special class instructor.

Even if I weren’t their instructor, I would still look after the special class kids.

    “It’s… Hero Ha Yuri.”

    “Ha Yuri?”

    “You mean the Ice Empress?”

At the student dean’s words, the instructors began murmuring in admiration.

While opinions on Ha Yuri’s personality were polarized, her skills were so exceptional that no one could question them. Plus, being beautiful, she was quite popular among active heroes.

“Should we ask for her autograph?”

“Doesn’t Ha Yuri dislike giving autographs?”

“Maybe she’ll do it if we ask nicely?”

The mention of Ha Yuri brought everyone together. They were like uncle fans watching a young female idol. It was a mindset I couldn’t understand.

    “Instructor Yoo Jin.”

    “Yes?”

While I was quietly listening to the instructors’ conversation, the student dean called my name.

“If a situation arises, I’ll be counting on you again.”

    “Yes.”

Only after ensuring the special class’s safety, of course.

    * * *

“So… that’s how it was decided we’re going on an MT.”

    “MT…!”

For students, an MT was one of the few exciting events in an otherwise mundane college life. It was especially perfect for giving rest to those who trained hard every day.

“But we didn’t pay student council fees since the MT in the first semester was canceled. Is that really okay?”

“It’s fine. This year, the president is covering expenses for all students as compensation.”

Even if that weren’t the case, I would have paid for everything myself.

I had received nearly 100 million won for capturing Paris and the Evil Sky organization members, so I had plenty of money to spare.

“What do we do at an MT?!”

“You’ll chat with students from other classes whom you haven’t had a chance to talk with, eat lots of delicious food, drink alcohol, play games. It’s similar to regular university MTs.”

The only difference might be that while regular universities play sports like foot volleyball, here they might have sparring matches. Probably inter-class competitions. The special class would definitely win those.

    “Where is it being held?”

“I heard it’s in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province.”

“Does that mean we’ll sleep with you there, Instructor?”

Koo Yeonhwa raised her hand and said something outrageous. While I was dumbfounded by her words, they spread to the other students like wildfire.

Since it was Yeonhwa who said it, she might have meant literally sleeping in the same place, but the others wouldn’t interpret it so innocently. To them, “sleeping together” meant a man and woman sharing a bed.

Evidence of this was in the various desires reflected in the eyes of the four students looking at Koo Yeonhwa.

“Koo Yeonhwa… are you missing getting flicked on the forehead?”

    “What?”

“You’d be better off babbling about being an agent of the organization or a wizard magician like you used to.”

That would be much easier to dismiss.

“Hmm. That’s fun too, but… I don’t need to do that anymore. I’ve decided to stop worrying my mom!”

Koo Yeonhwa confidently declared while beating her chest.

She decided to stop worrying her mom? Could it be…

The moment I heard her words, I felt something welling up inside me.

In the original story, she abandoned her chuunibyou persona when Michel died. She said then that there was no point in continuing the act.

But unlike the original work, Michel was alive in this world. The fact that Koo Yeonhwa was abandoning her chuunibyou persona despite this meant the possibility of her turning into a villain had completely disappeared.

Is this another change I’ve created?

It feels rewarding somehow. All that hard work was worth it.

“Oh, I’ll still cosplay! I’ll recite character lines while cosplaying, and occasionally wear dresses too!”

    “…That’s fine.”

    That’s enough for me.

“Have you been talking with your mother recently?”

“Yes. We just ask basic things like if we’ve eaten, but she cuts me off whenever I start talking about you, Instructor.”

Why does she cut off conversations about me?

It seems I’ve earned Michel’s thorough dislike.

Still, it was fortunate. Michel was changing too. Everything was changing positively.

“Instructor! Koo Yeonhwa’s story isn’t important right now!”

Bin Yooni rudely banged on the desk as she spoke.

I was just feeling sentimental for once. She’s interrupting.

I looked at her with displeasure and responded curtly.

    “What is it?”

“Eek! You’re not the kind instructor who usually treats us nicely!!”

She looked upset. What was she trying to ask anyway?

“Um… could we really sleep with you, Instructor?”

Yoo Ari raised her hand slightly and asked.

This woman who’s already slept with me once wasn’t satisfied? Who told you to pass out drunk? We could have gone all the way if you hadn’t.

“Of course not. Men and women sleep separately. I’ll be sleeping with the other instructors.”

It was obvious what would happen if I slept in the same place as them during the MT.

“How many pension houses are they planning to rent?”

A relatively normal question came from Jung Iyeon.

“I heard they’re dividing them between students and instructors. They said there won’t be any shortage of sleeping arrangements.”

“Then I guess it doesn’t matter if you’re not there, Instructor.”

…How did she reach that conclusion?

“You know what it means to sleep with me, right?”

I’ve been building relationships with your parents all this time.

What do you think would happen if they found out I was fooling around with you? The tower I’ve carefully built would obviously collapse.

“Sleeping together just means sleeping. What else?”

Koo Yeonhwa. Forehead flick stack plus one.

“Anyway, I’ll mention MT preparations again later. The academy will provide most items, so you just need to pack like you would for a trip—toiletries, change of clothes, and so on.”

I finished what I had to say, ignoring Koo Yeonhwa’s comment.

“That’s all for today’s morning assembly. Pay attention in your lectures today. If you skip attendance, you’ll get penalty points.”
