Ch.128Side Story: Each One’s Life
by fnovelpia
Time passed, and the day of Kraud and Poseidon’s wedding dawned.
Radios and Arsia left the mountains for Midret after a long time.
There, they could see Poseidon and Kraud smiling brightly at each other.
“How wonderful for them. To be able to smile just by looking at each other.”
“We can smile just by looking at each other too, can’t we?”
“That’s true. But this is their first wedding ceremony. Even though they’ve already had plenty of children.”
“Hmm, so they didn’t just speed through to marriage—they went full throttle?”
“Exactly. But let’s not mention that in front of them.”
Honestly, what else would you expect from people of Olympus?
They’re the type who believe everything is okay as long as two people like each other.
Besides, Kraud and Poseidon weren’t blood-related anyway, so whatever.
Let’s leave that story there.
“Kraud, Poseidon. We’re here.”
“Oh, you came?”
“It’s been a while, both of you.”
The couple welcomed Radios and Arsia with smiles.
With the wedding about to begin, their happiness levels seemed to be at maximum.
“Have you two set a wedding date yet?”
“We’d like to remain as lovers for now. It hasn’t been that long since we officially started dating.”
“Hehe, working hard at night, I see? But if we’re talking about people who haven’t been dating long, that’s us. I’ve been wondering why we’re rushing into marriage, and my husband-to-be is…”
“Ahem, that’s not something we should discuss here, so let’s move on.”
As Poseidon was about to speak to Radios with a suggestive expression,
Kraud cleared his throat to stop her words.
Apparently, he was embarrassed to discuss such matters.
Despite knowing everything and having experienced it all already.
Still, Radios couldn’t help but smile.
It seemed like Kraud and Poseidon genuinely cared for each other.
“Where’s Brina?”
“She’ll be here soon. I heard she had a hard time stopping the goblins from rushing over.”
“Hmm… if goblins showed up, it would be chaos.”
Goblins were an unpredictable race.
While Brina and Kraud were odd ones, goblins were purely insane.
They might come and cause trouble at the wedding, so Brina must have had a difficult time.
Especially since Kraud was the former clan chief.
Of course they would want to celebrate the marriage of someone who had led the clan for so long.
But with Brina blocking them, they must be quite upset.
However, for the sake of the wedding itself, the goblins shouldn’t appear.
If they did, chaos would ensue.
“Veichel said it would be difficult for her to come. Instead, she’s sending an imperial identification badge as a gift.”
“A badge? Why?”
“It’s a badge given only to the highest nobility. It grants free access to the imperial palace.”
“I don’t think we’ll ever need to go to the imperial palace, but I guess we should accept it gratefully.”
Veichel was still busy.
She had to work day and night to get through all the paperwork.
Radios imagined she was probably cursing someone while working even now.
“We should go prepare now.”
“Yes, we’ll see you at the wedding venue.”
“Alright.”
Checking the time, Kraud entered the venue with Poseidon.
They needed to finish their preparations as the wedding would start soon.
Shortly after they left, Brina appeared.
“Phew… I thought I was going to die.”
“You’re here.”
“Yeah, it’s been a while. It feels good to come out into the world after being stuck in that desolate Demonic Prison.”
Brina, whom they hadn’t seen in a long time, looked exhausted.
Apparently, the goblins were such troublemakers that it was difficult to control them.
It had become even harder to control them since they could now leave the Demonic Prison.
She said she had developed a newfound respect for how Kraud had managed the clan for thousands of years.
“Those bastards… they’re insane… I had to hold back so much from killing them.”
“Aren’t you a goblin too?”
“Damn it! Those creatures have crossed the line of what I can tolerate as kin! They’re complete lunatics!”
She was having a fit just talking about goblins, showing how much she had suffered.
Radios could easily sympathize, knowing what kind of creatures goblins were.
If he had to rule over all of them… ugh, he’d rather kill them all.
Especially since Brina wasn’t as composed(?) as Kraud, it must have been even harder for her.
He had forgotten, but her epithet was Blood Killer Ghost.
She was someone who enjoyed fighting and had little aversion to blood.
Her divine order was that of a Blood Demon, and that power was connected to her original nature.
She probably became so exhausted because she had to suppress that nature.
“Want to spar sometime?”
“Oh? Have you regained your strength?”
“A little. I haven’t been completely idle.”
Radios hadn’t just been resting.
Even though he had no reason to fight, he felt empty after losing his power.
He couldn’t eliminate the desire to fill what had been emptied.
So while he didn’t train as intensely as before, he exercised enough to be satisfied.
Thanks to that, his skills had improved to the point where he could establish an Order.
For an ordinary human, reaching that level in three years would be impossible.
But for Radios, who already had an immortal body, it was easy.
“I’m up for a match using only martial arts, without divine orders or orders.”
“Hehe, getting to fight the former strongest? This is an honor.”
“But you know you’ll lose, right? I don’t know about magic, but in pure martial arts, you don’t stand a chance.”
“Oh really? Let’s see about that.”
“Sure, let’s do it. After the wedding is over.”
Brina, who had been burning with fighting spirit, nodded as she remembered the situation.
Today was the day her one and only father was getting married.
It was a day to celebrate.
“I’m getting a mother who doesn’t exist for me.”
“…Huh? By the way, Brina, who is your mother?”
“Is that a dad joke?”
“No, no. I mean… Kraud is your father, but you don’t have a mother.”
Come to think of it, that was true.
Was Lin, the person Brina had created, a fictional character?
Or was she actually her mother?
“I don’t have a mother. I’m the second goblin born from my father’s magic.”
“Ah…”
“So this wedding means something to me. I’m getting a real mother, right?”
And that mother would be Poseidon.
That great deity who once ruled all the waters in Kadinant.
How could she not be happy?
“Let’s go then. We should see them at their most beautiful moment.”
Brina entered the wedding venue first, followed by Radios and Arsia.
The wedding was planned to be very modest.
They didn’t know many people anyway.
It reflected the couple’s opinion that it was better to receive greetings from a few close friends than blessings from strangers.
As a result, the wedding was held in a very small chapel.
The only guests were Radios, Arsia, Brina, and Namgung Ihyun.
Oh, and Azathoth, whom Radios had made into his servant, had been dismissed.
He no longer felt hatred and saw no need to keep him around.
But here’s the interesting part—
“Oh, Veichel?”
“Hey. Am I a bit late?”
Veichel was waiting in a corner of the wedding venue to officiate the ceremony.
It seemed odd since she had said she wouldn’t come.
Radios expressed his delight.
“Are you going to be the officiant?”
“Yeah. I made excuses to Tiaran and took some time off.”
“You really have changed.”
“Well, it’s the wedding of comrades we fought alongside. I should be here.”
And they had fought together risking their lives.
Of course she had to attend their wedding no matter what.
“Anyway, everyone take your seats. The wedding will start soon.”
“Alright.”
At Veichel’s words, Radios went to the audience seats and sat down.
After a brief moment of silence—
As the doors of the quiet venue opened—
“Our former clan chief is getting married!”
“Ah~ Don’t announce the wedding. They’ll tell us to get married too~”
“Wedding-yaho! Marriage-yaho!”
“Not letting us come to the wedding? Hmm~ We’ll just break through everything and come~~”
“…”
“Fuck! Why are those bastards here?!”
The ones who appeared were goblins.
Not all of them, just four.
It seemed they had somehow twisted through the barrier Brina had set up.
Of course, no one welcomed them.
“You crazy bastards! How many times did I tell you to stay in the Demonic Prison?!”
“Oh come on, Chief. We want to see the former chief getting married too.”
“Are you saying we gays can’t see our former chief’s wedding?”
“Absolutely!! That won’t happ— Gack!”
WHACK!
One of the goblins who had been running his mouth was sent flying by Brina’s fist.
Looking at her eyes, she seemed genuinely angry.
“You bastards are really dead now.”
“Yeah, I can’t stop that.”
Radios decided to pretend he didn’t see anything.
Well, she’d handle it well enough.
This wasn’t the time to interfere.
Nope.
