Chapter 128. Dojo Storming (1)
I watched the movement of the cloud demon from atop the wall with the tribal federation leaders.
“It’s thoroughly destroying everything.”
“It seems angry.”
“It must have been an extremely powerful god.”
“Ugh. This is the second time I’ve seen it with my own eyes, but I can’t get used to it. I tremble every time I see it.”
Lakye, Harry, Paya, and Siwoo each made a comment. Others who watched silently were also terrified by the cloud demon’s power.
Wooooo!
– It’s leaving.
After ravaging Volbano, the cloud demon looked around the areas near Dubenheim before dispersing and disappearing.
It’s random, but I thought it looked like a child going home after venting its anger.
Just because they’re transcendent beings doesn’t mean they think on a higher dimension.
Aren’t the Roas just powerful beasts? Perhaps they just happened to be worshipped and gained divine status, but they might not be omnipotent and great beings like those in creative works or religious texts.
– …
Let me check what happened to Charon.
I accessed the community. There’s a way to find out here.
Oh. MeleeSpy posted something. And it’s a sniper post aimed at me.
At least that’s what the title suggests.
[MeleeSpy: Malak, what makes you any different from those sea monsters?
DarkYami: “… I see you’ve already realized the past truth… I tried to absorb souls through your powerful strength to become stronger… Because you were a fool completely infatuated with ‘her,’ ‘memory manipulation’ was incredibly easy…”
EunuchBro: “No excuses needed—…!!! Release ‘her’ now and atone for your sins with death—…”
DarkYami: “Release ‘her’—?? Hahaha—. What nonsense—. Fine… I’ll release her—.
But only ‘if you can kill me’—.”
EunuchBro: “You…!!! You until the end…..!!! ‘Dark Ritual’… ‘mk.2’ mode—. ‘Awakening’—.”
DarkYami: “Hey hey www Are you serious—? Then I’ll have to get serious too…
Come forth, ruler of Yasgard—. ‘DeathOdin’—.”
bgm: (Dimensional gate opens) Weeeeeeeing Pishwoong Pyushung Pyushung
DeathOdin: “Life form detected!!!! Kill EunuchBro—!!!”]
– Hmm.
Honestly, I expected this.
I’ve done this once too—using a clickbait title and writing nonsense.
Specifically, I once posted with the title “(Shocking) 100% Analysis of MeleeSpy’s EunuchBro Bait Post Completed.”
The title was like that, but the content was just an introduction to the tribal federation.
At that time, MeleeSpy was furious, saying I used his work as bait. He reacted almost as if he’d met his mortal enemy.
This might be revenge for that incident. He probably wants to see me rush in here all flustered and angry after seeing this title.
I ignored it and moved on.
It’s best not to respond to posts like this. No matter what comment you leave, he’ll be satisfied that he got your attention.
He’ll probably scratch his belly saying “Uhaha fanfare~!” and cackle with laughter. Sigh. Just thinking about it makes me want to flick his forehead.
– Comments –
[MorningTentInstaller: Hey, is Malak your friend???]
Siwoo has already stepped in. Well, there’s no need to stop this kind of thing.
Let me accomplish what I came to the community for.
I searched for “Rinojohnnson” in the search bar. The most recent post from this user was the “Paladin Zombie Advisory” posted after his soul was stolen by Charon.
Click.
I clicked on Rinojohnnson’s nickname and moved to the message window.
The way to check if a user is alive is to send them a private message.
If the private message goes through, the user is still alive; if it doesn’t, they’re dead—that’s what Hannah told me.
Now, it’s time to test Charon’s survival.
Hmm. What should I send?
Since I’m sending something, I want it to be meaningful and cool.
Sending “Are you dead?” seems a bit much. “You got what you deserved for talking big LOL” isn’t great either.
If he’s alive, is there a cool message that would really anger him?
…Unable to think of anything clever, I just sent “.”
I can’t gather the leadership for consultation over something like this. I’d die of embarrassment.
[Unable to send message to this recipient.]
The message didn’t go through. It’s clear that Rinojohnnson, if not Charon himself, is dead.
I’d prefer if Charon was dead too, but I doubt the end of a madman who challenged the gods would be this anticlimactic.
Well, even if he’s alive, it will take him quite some time to rebuild his forces. By then, I’ll have achieved divine manifestation, ended the king ghost, and captured the cloud demon.
Ah, I’m not completely without worries.
[Bamboos: Tribal Federation… perhaps?] (12)
[Ghuulr: I think I found the location of the Tribal Federation headquarters] (35)
[OneSlice: Based on the circumstances, this must be it] (22)
Community users have figured out that the Tribal Federation headquarters is located in Symphonia.
The scale of the battle between the giant god and the stingray demon was too large to keep secret. It couldn’t be helped. There’s no way no one would notice two building-sized monsters fighting and kicking up dust.
Actually, it’s impressive we weren’t discovered until now. There are quite a few paladins living near Symphonia.
Everyone was forced to enjoy their basement hikikomori lifestyle because of the demons, so they were slow to notice.
[LuluTV: Those ill-natured Tribal Federation bastards! Eliminate them as soon as you find them!]
[OhDoGreatFather: Malak’s Castle that makes paladin meat discovered! Ah! Scary!]
[GuBoongyi: Is that the headquarters of the cult that lures and devours possessed people?]
[JetKick: I feel like hunting them down;;]
Honestly, these guys don’t scare me at all.
They’re just keyboard warriors. How strong could a few of these guys be if they banded together? They’re less than the Dina Special Forces.
The only ones who could harm the Tribal Federation are Charon (assuming he’s alive) and MeleeSpy, but MeleeSpy isn’t much of a problem.
He won’t come down here unless I draw aggro by claiming I eat paladins like AtomicRex.
If he really thought the Tribal Federation was dangerous, he wouldn’t be posting bait or engaging in keyboard battles like earlier—he would have taken action from the start.
I think he’s still trying to figure out what kind of people we are.
In the end, Charon is the problem.
If Charon survived the loss of his army and discovered our headquarters’ location through the community, then made a desperate attack, it could be quite dangerous.
Now that we have the “God Summoning” blessing, we won’t have our house robbed, but we should still make some preparations.
I ordered Denzo, the commander of the garrison, to strengthen patrols.
“I’ll recruit more patrol members.”
– Good.
When it comes to strengthening, the only method is to throw in more manpower.
“I’ll send sixteen skilled warriors. They’ll be a great help.”
Kanto is helping too.
“Thank you, Great Chieftain.”
I dismissed the leadership with the final instruction to call me through the altar whenever needed.
Having confirmed Rinojohnnson’s fate, today’s work is done.
“Lord Malak, I have something to tell you.”
The Holy Maiden, who had been standing motionless as everyone else was leaving, spoke up.
– Speak.
“I’d like to talk in front of the altar. Is that alright?”
The fact that she specifically chose a space where others couldn’t freely enter meant this wasn’t an ordinary matter.
– Let’s do that.
“I’m Lord Malak’s guardian, so I have the right to hear it.”
“That’s fine.”
Somehow Lakye joined in.
After transferring my consciousness to Totem No. 1, I arrived with Lakye standing beside me, waiting for the Holy Maiden.
Shortly after, the Holy Maiden appeared, accompanied by the sound of her staff tapping the ground.
Her posture was stable and elegant, just like when I first saw her.
The Holy Maiden removed the blindfold she always wore in public and examined the altar with her cloudy eyes.
Those eyes, which let in not a single ray of light, moved slowly.
I wonder if she’s really blind. Is she just cosplaying as a blind person?
“I’ve been watching the Tribal Federation for ten days.”
What?
‘Watching’? That’s incorrect. You don’t have eyes to watch with.
I swallowed this retort and waited for what she would say next.
“The Tribal Federation is a good place. I can hear children laughing. I also felt the trust between people and their strong faith in you. These are invaluable things, especially in a world like this.”
Thank you for the compliment. But honestly, I haven’t done much.
Rachel handles the politics, Kanto handles the war, Lakye handles the boss hunting, and what have I done?
I just gave a few decent speeches and used totems to apply buffs and debuffs.
“…As you know, Lady Ishtania hates you.”
I’m sure she does. I destroyed the cathedral that grants divine status.
“As her proxy, I inherited Lady Ishtania’s hatred completely. …I thought I should be hostile toward Malak, the Storm God. I was taught that you were an entity trying to bring about the end.”
– I see.
I took it positively.
If she were still hostile, she wouldn’t bring this up. Perhaps she experienced a change of heart after coming here.
“Not anymore. I’ve seen how much you love humans.”
As expected. Just as I thought.
“I’ve decided to believe in your promise to save the world. So, I hope you will trust me too.”
– Trust, huh.
Tsk. She noticed that I’ve been harboring doubts in one corner of my mind.
