Ch.128128. The Newly Born S Squadron
by fnovelpia
Woooong― Paaang!!
The black hole burst open and four silhouettes shot out from inside.
“Ugh!”
“Gah!”
They let out weak groans as they hit the ground. The four heroes shook their heads, trying to assess the situation.
“Where are we?”
“It smells awful here. My head hurts like hell.”
Shin Yukyong and Ji Se-hwa got to their feet. They realized they were in a dark underground passage.
“Wait a minute. What happened to the battle? We were definitely fighting Vengeance.”
“That’s right! My memory is foggy, but we were making our final attack… Oh, Ui-seok was in danger!”
Kang Yerin and Pak Hayoung tried to make sense of the situation. Shin Yukyong and Ji Se-hwa also remembered and took combat stances.
“Were we ambushed?!”
“Be careful, looks like we were hit by some ability.”
The four stood back-to-back. Then a flippant voice reached their ears.
“I’m glad you’re all so energetic, Dragon King Sentai friends.”
The four immediately became alert, looking toward the source of the voice.
Even in the darkness, they could see a snow-white hero sitting smugly on a concrete structure.
“You bastard, Sulphur!”
“Where did Vengeance go? What have you done?!”
Sulphur jumped down from the structure and stood before them in response to Kang Yerin’s shout.
“The Incursion is over. This is my world, a world ruled by villains. Your world has been destroyed.”
“What…!”
“Stop talking nonsense!!”
Ji Se-hwa immediately rushed at Sulphur. He easily deflected her attack and knocked her down.
Meanwhile, Kang Yerin sank to the ground as if her strength had left her. Pak Hayoung and Shin Yukyong froze in place.
“Haha, such a negative reaction. You don’t need to thank me for saving your lives.”
“Saving us…! What did you do to Ui-seok, you bastard?!”
“He’s dead, I suppose.”
“You son of a bitch!!!”
Ji Se-hwa charged at Sulphur again as he shrugged his shoulders. Once more, he subdued her with ease.
“Then… then why did you save us…! You bastard! I was prepared to die…!”
Sulphur calmly replied to Ji Se-hwa’s outburst of anger.
“No matter how terrible, reality is better than running away.”
“What do you know?!”
“I know.”
Restrained by Sulphur, Ji Se-hwa desperately held back her tears. Pak Hayoung stepped forward and asked.
“Why did you save us?”
“As I said, I’m the only hero left in this world. Even if I wanted to fight back, I’m too outnumbered on my own.”
“So you want us to cooperate?”
“Don’t you want to? To get revenge on Gerogius, who took everything from us.”
The Dragon King Sentai remained silent at Sulphur’s proposal. Everyone was deep in thought.
“But he’s still Ui-seok, isn’t he?”
Kang Yerin raised her head.
“Tell us, Sulphur. What happened in this world? Why did Ui-seok become Gerogius? No, before that.”
“Who are you, Sulphur?”
Shin Yukyong asked in a strong tone.
Sulphur released Ji Se-hwa and slowly stood up. Ji Se-hwa turned to look at him.
Sulphur pulled out a switch from deep within his left arm. His transformation was canceled, revealing a woman.
The Dragon King Sentai couldn’t hide their surprise at seeing his face. But they quickly understood.
“A lot has happened, hasn’t it?”
“Well, yes.”
Sulphur looked at Kang Yerin and smirked.
“…Damn. I don’t get it.”
Ji Se-hwa scratched her head.
Sulphur slowly bent down to meet her eyes.
“What, why are you making me uncomfortable?”
“Can I hug you for a bit?”
“No, what are you—”
Without waiting for her to finish, Sulphur embraced Ji Se-hwa. She flailed her arms in confusion.
She shot Kang Yerin a look asking for help, but Kang Yerin returned a look that said she didn’t know what to do either.
After pulling away, Sulphur began her story.
“Where should I start? Right, in this world, Dragon Arrow was promoted to S-rank and on their first mission, they happened to meet another S-rank hero. That was Rainbow Shooter.”
***
Sulphur’s story continued for a long time. Some of them went out to get food and drinks during the telling.
Everyone’s expressions twisted when they heard about their own deaths.
After the story ended, Kang Yerin summarized.
“So in this world, like in ours, all external threats have ended. But it’s become a world ruled by villains, and you, Sulphur, want to revive the heroes.”
“Exactly.”
“It won’t be easy.”
Shin Yukyong’s expressionless face became even more rigid. Ji Se-hwa pouted.
“Yerin… Sulphur, you want revenge on Gerogius, right?”
“Of course. I even took the name Sulphur to kill the Red Dragon of Apocalypse. But my greater goal is to return the world to the heroes.”
“Ugh… can we do it? Even if it’s against Ui-seok oppa.”
Ji Se-hwa held her head. Pak Hayoung was the first to strengthen her resolve.
“I’ll follow Sulphur.”
“Hayoung.”
“I promised myself I would die as a hero. That way, I won’t have regrets in life. Being the only heroes in a world full of villains sounds kind of cool, doesn’t it?”
“I’ll follow too. I don’t know how to do anything else anyway.”
Shin Yukyong agreed. Kang Yerin nodded.
“Honestly, I’m not sure about revenge. I don’t know this world yet, so I want to experience more before making a judgment. But I believe heroes are needed in any world.”
After hearing the three speak, Ji Se-hwa also stood up.
“Ah, whatever. It’s not like I can do anything on my own, so I’ll follow for now. But if there’s any chance to get along with this world’s Ui-seok oppa, I’m quitting right away, just so you know.”
Ji Se-hwa grumbled. Sulphur looked at the four with a satisfied expression.
“Thank you, everyone.”
“Your speech pattern is confusing.”
Sulphur laughed lightly at Kang Yerin’s complaint.
“It was, wasn’t it? Well then, let’s move. I’ve prepared a secret base. Don’t be surprised if it’s too luxurious. I had nowhere else to spend my money.”
“Um, before that… can we take a moment to pay our respects? I feel… sorry that only we survived…”
Pak Hayoung struggled with her words. The Dragon King Sentai all remembered the people they had left behind.
Sulphur gave them some time.
Watching the Dragon King Sentai pay their respects, a sense of blasphemy washed over her.
Most of what she had told them was sincere and true. Her goal to revive heroes, the circumstances that forced her to temporarily cooperate with Vengeance for her world’s sake, and the camaraderie she now felt for the Dragon King Sentai—all of it was real.
But there was just one lie.
The motive of revenge against Gerogius.
That was a blatant lie.
Of course, the day might come when she would kill Gerogius with her own hands.
If that would make him love her.
But for now.
She was too excited about her debut as Gerogius’s only arch-enemy.
“Ah.”
Sulphur barely managed to suppress the tingling sensation of ecstasy throughout her body.
As the only hero in this world, she would revive the S-Sentai to oppose Gerogius.
That was the role Gerogius had proposed for her after the Incursion.
It was something only she could do, something no one else in the world was capable of.
In front of him, she had grumbled that she didn’t understand, but she knew perfectly well what his intention was.
There was no reason not to do it. If the Dragon King Sentai refused, she would have forced them to become allies.
Only then.
‘To Gerogius, I will be.’
A unique and special existence.
“We’re done. Let’s go, Sulphur.”
Kang Yerin finished her tribute and moved to stand beside Sulphur.
“By the way, what are we going to call our sentai?”
In response to Shin Yukyong’s question, Sulphur answered immediately.
“Gerogius committed seven sins to bring about the end of the world and gain everything. We will be the messengers who liberate the seven main lines sealed by his sins.”
“Seven main lines… I see. Angels who break the seals.”
Pak Hayoung understood right away.
“Sea Lord Sentai Tensirjer. That’s the name we’ll use from now on. Everyone needs to prepare a pair of wings.”
“There are plenty of pigeons in the park, so that should be fine.”
Ji Se-hwa joked lightly.
The five heroes walked in step toward the surface.

“Parallel worlds are parallel, not identical?”
“That’s exactly it! You understand perfectly, Gerogius.”
The Moderator whistled as he downed a glass of gin and tonic.
“You’re all humans, right? Made of cosmic matter. Composed of atoms. Inside those are nuclei, protons, quarks. You know that the vibration frequencies in the quantum world are perfectly random, right?”
“Yes, I know.”
Lu-a answered while crunching on snacks.
“So even with completely identical conditions and identical starts, random variables will inevitably enter the equation. That’s why parallel worlds emerge.”
“So you’re saying that Red Dragon and I weren’t just different in our choices, but should be considered actually different individuals?”
“It’s the same in any parallel dimension. There are no identical people anywhere. Every being in the world is one of a kind. Everyone is special. Ah, the time axis is another story. Past and future selves can be considered the same entity.”
“Then why do they look so similar? If what you’re saying is true, all variables should constantly influence them, making them completely different people, shouldn’t they?”
To Somi’s question, the Moderator shrugged.
“I don’t know either. Who knows the secrets of the universe? Maybe it’s about souls or destiny or something like that?”
The Moderator munched on popcorn and leaned in close to me.
“But you know, Gerogius, I’m curious about something. You wiped out all the heroes with your own hands, and this time you fought the heroes with all your might. So why are you now directly reviving heroes?”
It was a trivial question. The Moderator glanced at Lu-a, Lena, and Somi, who showed little reaction.
“What, am I the only one curious about this?”
“After observing our world all this time, you still can’t figure out such a simple reason? How foolish.”
Lena berated him. I gave a simple explanation to the Moderator as he scratched the back of his head.
