Ch.125Consultation (3)

The advice received from Cyris was extremely useful. Not only did I learn about the overall lifestyle of the Dark Elves, but also what abilities they possess, what history they have, and finally what ideologies they hold.
Unlike the elves of Alfheim who are stuck in their ways unless something major happens, Dark Elves, while valuing tradition and history like regular elves, tend to have more awakened thinkers among them.
However, the generational conflict is no different from that of the elves. They seem worried that their traditions and culture might disappear if they integrate with Alfheim.
Interestingly, this sentiment is generally found among the younger generation of Dark Elves rather than the older generation.
Moreover, Alfheim once expelled the Dark Elves in the distant past, so the rift of conflict has still not narrowed.
Currently, Arwen was carefully preparing for unification, but even this was thwarted by Rain’s hard trolling.
As a result, elves and Dark Elves are now close yet distant. A relationship that originated from the same roots but had to separate due to discord.
‘Besides, even now the relationship between them isn’t exactly good…’
There are documents stating that elves’ long ears evolved to listen more carefully to the voice of god. Following these documents, elves take great care of their ears no matter what happens and try their best to restore them if damaged.
In contrast, Dark Elves have a custom of cutting their ears in half as a sign of contempt for Alfheim, which massacred them and furthermore exiled them out of arrogance. Not only that, they also wear earrings to mark their age.
If the elves of Alfheim had properly inherited the historical truth, it might be different, but the Senate, unwilling to reveal the ugly truth, has thoroughly hidden the past and furthermore treats Dark Elves as ‘heretics.’
Not only the Senate but also the elves of Alfheim have been educated since ancient times about what their ears symbolize, so it’s said they look at Dark Elves with disgust.
In reality, the view toward Dark Elves is very negative regardless of generation.
The reason I came to know this fact is because I heard the truth through Arwen. She accidentally discovered history books that were hidden even in the holy land, and thanks to that, she learned the ugly historical truth.
Unlike other elves, the reason Arwen has particularly awakened thinking is because she knows the truth.
‘This is really good material for me.’
In the Biography of Xenon, there is a conflict between the hero leading the elves and the hero leading the Dark Elves.
Fortunately, the elven hero, who learns the historical truth, accepts the Dark Elves without much trouble and furthermore works tirelessly to reclaim Alfheim, which has been invaded.
Whether this will resolve the relationship between elves and Dark Elves is questionable, but it will likely have a significant impact. Even the demon race’s perception has changed 180 degrees, so I don’t think elves would be any different.
Anyway, after receiving excellent advice from Cyris, I sent her back. It was awkward when she asked if I would really include her in the Biography of Xenon before she left.
Actually, a character like Cyris could appear without disrupting the story, so I plan to have her make a few appearances. Not as a hero, but perhaps as a successor to a hero or something like that.
Thus, I wrote the Biography of Xenon and prepared for the next volume, and as time passed, Friday, when the exams would end, approached.
“Ah~ This is really annoying. Why does the professor make the questions so difficult?”
“It’s an exam, so that’s probably why. So, do you think you did well?”
“I’m not sure. But I attended all the classes, so I should at least get an average grade.”
Marie grumbled beside me, apparently finding the exam quite difficult. Yet she was still cutting her steak into small pieces and putting them in her mouth, unable to resist her hunger.
I smiled gently at the sight and quietly spoke.
“Marie, you’re smart, so you’ll be able to get a good score. I can be sure of that.”
“I don’t think you’re the one to say that.”
A familiar voice came from across the table, not from Marie. I turned my head in that direction.
As always, Cecilly was sitting there, beautiful and seductive like a black rose. It wouldn’t have mattered if she was alone, but there was an unexpected person sitting next to her.
“Right. When you say something like that, it sounds a bit deceptive.”
It was Rina, the princess of the Empire of Minerva. Several months after successfully hosting the exhibition, her beauty had ripened even more.
Her puppy-like cute features remained the same, and her unusually large eyes sparkled like sapphires. Add to that her chest, which couldn’t be hidden even by the school uniform.
Although we started with an awkward relationship, after the successful conclusion of the exhibition, we’ve been getting along well. The biggest factor was the recovery of her relationship with Marie.
If it had been before, Rina would have been too self-conscious to attend this gathering, but now that she’s close to Marie, she treats her like an ordinary friend. It’s rewarding to see that I personally took the lead in helping them reconcile.
“I don’t know what you two are thinking, but I’m not that smart. Just think of it as having a different perspective.”
“That alone is impressive. Issac, you’re not a noble who received higher education like us, right?”
Rina said with a bright smile. That wasn’t meant to be sarcastic; excluding me, they were all women of high rank.
So the quality of education they received from their families would naturally be different, and it’s not unreasonable for Rina to think that way. This is only possible because I’m a reincarnator.
I shrugged at Rina’s words and then said in a cheeky tone.
“Well? I’m honored that Her Highness thinks so highly of me.”
“…Stop it. It feels so awkward now that I could die.”
“Right.”
“That’s just what geniuses are like, I guess.”
The three of them unanimously called me annoying. I was a bit dumbfounded but shook my head.
Since I couldn’t reveal that this was possible because I was a reincarnator, I guess I’d have to live as an annoying person. I wonder if the day will ever come when I can tell them this fact.
Later, as I was about to cut the remaining steak into small pieces and put it in my mouth, I remembered something I had forgotten. So I swallowed the steak in my mouth and spoke to Cecilly across from me.
“Ah, right. Cecilly.”
“Yes?”
Cecilly blinked her red eyes and looked at me when I called her. She looked so cute with a fork in her mouth.
“I need your help with something this time. Can you help me?”
“What kind of help?”
“As you probably know, Lillis is a character modeled after you. I’d like to reference not only your appearance but also your fighting style and such.”
“Fighting style? Wait a minute. So what you said last time was true? That you created Lillis while looking at me?”
She seems to be referring to when the Seven Deadly Sins first appeared. At that time, she probably didn’t take it seriously because I was just testing the waters.
I stared at Cecilly’s face, which was full of expectation, and nodded. Lillis was indeed modeled after Cecilly, so I had no intention of denying it.
“Yes.”
“Wow…!”
When I nodded and affirmed, Cecilly’s expression brightened like the sun. Her reddish eyes became infinitely sparkling, and she looked touched.
I was puzzled by her reaction, which was very different from what I expected, but when I glanced to the side, I saw Rina looking on with an envious expression. Meanwhile, Cecilly spoke hastily in a somewhat excited voice.
“T-Then it’s an honor for me! To think that I’m the original model for a character in the Biography of Xenon… It’s the ultimate wish for our demon race.”
“You’re okay with being a villain?”
“If it’s a villain created by you, wouldn’t even that be charming? I’ll definitely help you. What kind of help do you need?”
Was she that happy about appearing in the book? Cecilly showed rare enthusiasm and her eyes sparkled.
I was a bit taken aback, but I voiced what I had been thinking all along.
“As I said earlier, I want to reference your fighting style. Lillis is a demon who became a devil. So she also uses magic, and referencing you would be perfect.”
“Fighting style… Does Lillis use swordsmanship too?”
“Yes. But it’s not flashy, just a medium for using magic or techniques.”
“The swordsmanship I learned is like that too. Humans hone their techniques to make up for their lack of strength, but we demons hone our techniques to use our power efficiently. Hmm…”
After pondering for a moment, Cecilly tapped her cheek with her finger and spoke.
“Since we can’t use magic at the academy, you can visit Helium during the vacation. I’ll show you how I fight then.”
“Thank you. Are you going to have a duel or something?”
“Yes. I’ll probably call Lord Balack.”
Gartz is indeed an easy target. But since Gartz also knows my identity, there probably isn’t anyone more suitable.
“I’m jealous. You won’t even include your girlfriend. Is that right?”
Perhaps she was quite dissatisfied with the fact that Cecilly would appear in the Biography of Xenon. Marie grumbled with a disgruntled voice.
Her sulky face, along with one cheek puffed up like a pufferfish, was really adorable. So, to comfort our girlfriend, I slowly leaned forward.
Then I whispered softly into her ear.
‘There’s no need to be jealous. You know, right? That I’ll write about our story. Whether it’s during the day or… at night.’
‘… …’
‘You can look forward to it.’
Marie’s face instantly turned red. I smiled and slowly pulled my face back.
In the past, she would have just stayed quiet without saying anything properly…
Fumble- Fumble-
Like a predator searching for prey, she fumbled with my thigh and gradually moved toward the center.
Fortunately, since there were people in front of us, she didn’t do anything naughty, but it was inevitable to get excited.
Eventually, as Marie’s soft hand settled on it, I carefully grabbed her wrist. It was a silent indication to hold back for now.
“…Issac.”
“Yes.”
“After the meal is over… you know?”
Everyone would know what Marie wants. So I managed my expression as much as possible and said to the people in front.
“Can I go to the dormitory for a moment? I have something urgent.”
“Huh? Suddenly? What’s the matter?”
It was certainly too sudden, so Rina widened her eyes in question. On the other hand, Cecilly, who already knew about my relationship with Marie, seemed to have noticed.
I looked at the puzzled Rina and smiled gently, answering quietly.
“I just need some medicine. I’ll be back soon.”
“Medicine?”
Rina didn’t seem to catch on, tilting her head and then asking in an even more confused voice.
“Are you sick somewhere? If you’re sick…”
“I’m not sick, just think of it as preventive medicine.”
“…Preventive medicine?”
“Yes.”
Rina seemed to be oblivious to such matters.
