Chapter 11. Tribe (3)
Paya’s “Brown Rock Tribe Integration Proposal,” after receiving Kanto’s confirmation, was attached to Tuntunyi’s leg and sent flying.
“Chief of the Brown Rock Tribe… Well, she may be crazy, but if Lord Malak wishes it, then that’s my will too!”
Was it my imagination that Kanto’s expression looked somewhat strange after receiving this predetermined answer?
Sorry, Kanto. It’s something that must be done.
“We should hear back within three days at least. Getting here… I think it would take at least two weeks, even at the fastest.”
Paya said this while writing on a crudely made parchment with a charcoal pencil.
She always looks so busy, it’s somewhat pitiful.
Girls her age would usually spend their free time decorating diaries, playing instruments, or cooking.
From what I hear, she’s constantly overwhelmed with work. Taking a day off would be good for her mental health.
So today, I plan to suggest that Paya go out for some fun.
– I want to see this hunt with my own eyes. Priestess Paya, can you be my eyes?
“What?!”
Well, strictly speaking, it’s reconnaissance. But if we approach it with a camping mindset, isn’t that like going out for fun?
***
“Habul, take the rear. Denzo, check the equipment once more.”
“Yes.”
“As the chief says.”
Seven of the tribe’s best warriors, including Kanto, are moving while surrounding Paya as if escorting her.
“Those eyes are still unsettling no matter how many times I see them. Lord Malak, are you there? Are you with Priestess Paya?”
With her left eye glowing blue, Paya is currently in massacre mode. Even during reconnaissance, Kanto kept glancing at his sister with a worried expression.
Given their age difference, he feels more like an uncle than an older brother.
Our Kanto… I was trying to stay quiet, but you made me speak up.
I deliberately didn’t say a word even while coming all the way here.
– Kanto, don’t worry.
“Chief Kanto cannot hear Lord Malak’s words right now. Only if Lord Malak borrows my mouth will he be able to hear.”
– Hmm.
Borrowing her mouth. That’s an interesting way to put it.
I didn’t properly check last time, but it seems that in this divine state, communication is difficult with anyone who isn’t blessed.
It’s like switching from a speaker that everyone can hear to earphones for just one person.
As Paya said, I need to take control of a part of her body to communicate with others.
– I’ll borrow it for a moment.
I’m a bit curious whether the voice that comes out when I take over Paya’s mouth is hers or mine.
I focused my consciousness on Paya’s lips. The expression is strange, but the content is honest.
“Ah, ah.”
A voice that’s half Paya’s and half mine. An eerie sound like what a demon from “Hometown of Legends” might make.
“Huh!”
“D-do you need something?”
Kanto and several warriors turned their startled eyes toward us.
One might think we’re being too noisy while hunting infected creatures, but it’s not a problem. We’re not in the danger zone yet, so we can slack off a bit.
At least it’ll be easy to distinguish who’s speaking. I returned control of her lips to Paya.
“…That was a strange experience.”
Paya touched her lips. Her embarrassment and shyness are transmitted to me.
This blessing allows not only shared vision but also some emotional sharing. I like that it’s one-way—only the vassal’s emotions are shared with me, not vice versa.
It’s better that she doesn’t know the human emotions I feel. If she understood the feelings of a gaming nerd who suddenly became a totem, it would only diminish her faith.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been outside the tribe.”
Paya was completely captivated by the scenery.
I can feel her newness, surprise, joy, and deep longing.
I made the right decision bringing her.
Even though the infected creatures should be easy to handle, I was a bit worried about the possibility of something going wrong, but seeing Paya so happy makes me feel proud without realizing it.
– How much further do we need to go?
Paya relayed my question to Kanto.
“We’ve cleared out most of the creatures living on this mountain. We need to go further down to find more.”
Kanto added that it would take about an hour.
That’s good. Paya can rest and enjoy nature.
I’ll enjoy myself too.

I’m absolutely not entering because I’m bored or have nothing to do.
It’s purely for information. Hmm.

Most of these are the same members who post every day. Do these people have nothing to do?
In a nearly destroyed world with no infrastructure, they should be busy just surviving, yet they consistently write posts, which is quite fascinating.
Maybe they’re somewhat capable people who have some free time?
Like, they might be mentally unstable online but living relatively solid lives in reality…
It’s hard to imagine. Well, let’s just assume that’s the case.
I’m curious about Skynet’s post about clearing the game. It might be nonsense, but there could be something helpful.
[Skynet: I will tell you how to clear the game <Surviving as Paladin>.
I’m posting this because many users have asked.
To clear the game ‘Surviving as Paladin,’ you need several strategies and efforts. Below are tips and guidelines for general game progression:
1. Complete Quests: The main goal is to complete quests given in the game. Quests provide rewards such as experience points, items, gold, etc., which help improve the protagonist’s level and abilities. Complete both main story quests and side quests to maximize rewards.
2. Learn Combat Skills: The protagonist must learn and improve combat skills as a paladin. Use various attack and defense techniques to gain an advantage in battles against monsters. Look for quests where you can learn combat skills from training or specific NPCs.
3. Enhance Equipment: Improve the protagonist’s abilities by wearing more powerful weapons, armor, and accessories. You can purchase items from shops or obtain them through quest rewards. Also, utilize the crafting system to create your own powerful equipment.
4. Exploration: Explore the game world to find hidden treasures, secret areas, side quests, etc. Exploration provides opportunities to gain experience and rewards, and allows you to explore various elements of the game.
5. Party Cooperation: Forming parties with other players in the game makes it easier to clear difficult battles or defeat powerful bosses. Cooperate with other players to devise strategies and complete missions.
6. Skill and Trait Trees: The game allows you to develop your protagonist using skill and trait trees. Invest skill points earned when leveling up to develop desired skills, and strengthen the protagonist’s special abilities through the trait tree.
Through these strategies and efforts, you should be able to clear the game ‘Surviving as Paladin.’ The difficulty and design of the game may vary depending on the actual game developer’s decisions, so be sure to check the hints and tips provided in the game.]
I’ve wasted my overflowing time like garbage. Since I’ve come this far, let’s look at the comments too.
[FullPlay: Half of this is bullshit and half is somewhat true, which makes it more infuriating]
[ShotgunAttack: Tell us how to get out of this world instead of clearing the game, you stupid scrap metal bastard]
[MeleeSpy: Where the hell are these shops and crafting systems??? Am I the only one who doesn’t know??? Is everyone else going into shops buying chicken and pizza and making legendary weapons with crafting systems??? Where are the NPCs??? Where can I meet them??? I want to meet a virgin bitch beautiful girl NPC who teaches me night skills, but why can’t I see any???? Why are the only people I occasionally meet old grandmas and grandpas who survived by hiding in their rooms???
Answer me before I go completely crazy and jump all the way to the moon and stick a bloody Pikachu in your ancestors’ assholes!!!]
[NotACatfish: You obviously look like a boring, real-life loner old man who’s been lurking until now and is awkwardly trying to create a persona. It even feels like you just copied some stupid AI conversation screenshots floating around the internet. Thinking about you scratching your belly while giggling after posting this makes me want to vomit.]
[CowBikiniDance: Mister, party cooperation here can get everyone killed, don’t you know about demon massacres?]
[ITrustedTheMonkeyUncle: Paladin-hahaha! Paladin~hahahaha! Paladin-hahaha-!]
If Skynet’s goal was to attract attention, they certainly succeeded.
By the way, secret areas, side quests, hidden treasures…
Those things existed in the game <Surviving as Paladin> too. I don’t remember most of the locations, but I still remember one.
It’s a place called the Necromancer’s Tomb. The difficulty was high, but the clear reward was really good.
If this world perfectly implemented the game, or if the game perfectly implemented this world, wouldn’t it exist?
I should search about the Necromancer’s Tomb later. If other users haven’t cleared it yet, I might go there after building up my abilities.
I moved on to my original purpose and created a post.
[UltraSansMadWithMoonlightMassacreMode: Anyone seen barbarians?
What are they like?
Dangerous? Strong? See them often?]
This should be simple enough.
I’m using my spare time to learn about the community’s or this world’s perception of barbarians.
I searched and saw some past posts about barbarians before, but there wasn’t much information.
[Dorn: You mean those guys called barbarians?
They used to appear occasionally as NPCs in the game, but I don’t see them here.
Is it a location issue?]
[Dalla: Briefly confronted barbarians
I went deep into the mountains looking for food and encountered them
They were carrying spears and bows
Their weapons are poor but they’re surprisingly strong, be careful
They’re skinny but somehow incredibly powerful]
That was all there was.
“Lord Malak, look at that flower. It’s blooming in such a place.”
– Beautiful.
I waited for comments while looking at strangely shaped flowers with Paya, whose girlish sensibilities were coming alive.
