Ch.119Retirement Ceremony (1)

    # Retirement Ceremony!

It’s no exaggeration to say that the scale of a retirement ceremony depends on how much goodwill the retiree has accumulated.

Just think about soldiers being discharged from the military.

If someone is undeniably the ace of the company, friendly with everyone regardless of rank, and an inspiration to juniors, wouldn’t everyone in the company come to see them off?

They might even throw a party the night before discharge to celebrate.

In contrast, what about someone who’s considered worthless and not even treated properly by seniors?

No one would care about their discharge, and they’d leave the guard post quietly and alone, wouldn’t they?

Of course, either way, they’d be happy just to be discharged.

Though I suppose someone who was an ace during their military service might feel a certain melancholy about never seeing their friends in the military again, or never returning to the unit they grew attached to over 18 months.

Anyway, a retirement ceremony in many ways reflects the feelings subordinates have toward that person.

So what about the retirement ceremony for the current Blood Tower Master who has done so much to grow the Blood Tower?

[Let’s make it as grand as possible] – MidirDirDir

Honestly, I wish she wouldn’t retire, but who are we to stop her?

If she wants to retire, I think we should put our hearts into making it special

If we make the ceremony heartfelt enough, maybe she’ll reconsider retirement?

    – Reversing retirement isn’t easy, but I agree so upvote

ㄴ Honestly, I’d welcome it if she reversed her decision (Original poster)

    ㄴㄴ That’s right

    ㄴㄴ Please reconsider your retirement…

    – You’re right, we should make it as grand as possible… Truly, if it weren’t for the Blood Tower Master, I’d probably have been found as a starved corpse

ㄴ What kind of life have you been living?

ㄴㄴ I thought I’d be an average mage my whole life, but after receiving Blood Strengthening Art, I rose to a low-level mage…

    ㄴㄴㄴ Wow, so jealous

    ㄴㄴㄴ That’s possible?

ㄴㄴㄴ As expected, raising the level of Average Bloods is our Tower Master’s specialty lol

[I didn’t expect the retirement ceremony to happen so soon…] – Anonymous

But since we’re having a retirement ceremony, we absolutely can’t let her go peacefully

We need to go all out and make her come back…

If anyone slacks off, I’ll kill them, so do it properly

    – Upvote

    – Will she come back just because of that?

ㄴ She might come back, why are you being so harsh?

    ㄴ Your attitude is twisted…

    ㄴㄴ For real lol

    – I wish she’d come back, I’d even lick her feet repeatedly

ㄴ If she doesn’t come back, it’s your fault, you bastard

    ㄴ Oh god, Average Bloods

    ㄴ Please stop

    – I thought she’d stay for at least 100 years

    ㄴ 100 years, seriously? lol

ㄴ Are you an elf or gay…

Naturally, the Blood Tower forum was filled with demons encouraging everyone to make the event as grand as possible.

To them, Blood Tower Master Midir Tepes was more than just the pride of their Magic Tower.

Has there ever been a Magic Tower Master who cared about their subordinate mages as much as Midir?

    Not once.

This was obvious when considering the previous Blood Tower Master.

Until now, Blood Mages had lived miserably, lamenting their poor circumstances and researching how wealthy other Magic Towers were and what tremendous support they received.

Then suddenly, through the grace of Blood Tower Master Midir Tepes, they began receiving more support than any other Magic Tower.

This support wasn’t limited to just one or two people—it extended to all mages, including average mages. So their fervent devotion to Midir was practically law in the Blood Tower.

When such a figure suddenly announced retirement, her followers were sad but couldn’t stop her if she wanted to retire.

All they could do was make the retirement ceremony as grand as possible to leave her with lingering attachments.

The only hope they had was that the elders might persuade her to reconsider retirement, but the retirement ceremony notice remained on the Blood Tower forum. When subordinate mages received official documents from the elders ordering them to make the ceremony as grand as possible, it was clear the retirement wouldn’t be reversed.

It was unfortunate, but they couldn’t blame the elders…

[Why are these elder bastards doing nothing after taking all that money?] – MidirLoveDog

How little must they be doing for her to want to retire?

I’m sure Midir is retiring because she couldn’t bear working alone while these elders were playing around doing nothing

Upvote if you think we should behead the elder bastards first lol

    – Whoa, your language is a bit dangerous

ㄴ Goodbye lol You won’t go far lol

    – Upvote to get this guy disciplined lol

    ㄴ Save me… (Original poster)

ㄴㄴ You didn’t even have the guts to get disciplined lol

ㄴㄴ The one asking for upvotes wasn’t you lol

    …or maybe not.

The Blood Mages, panicked by the sudden retirement news, were mostly blaming the elders.

    It made sense.

They were the only ones who could meet Midir directly.

How could average mages possibly meet Midir?

    However…

    [Hahahahaha this looks good]

    [What? It’s not being deleted]

    [Shouldn’t that person be disciplined?]

    [Comments are crazy]

The situation was taking a strange turn.

    The reason was:

    – Ahem… (Administrator)

    ㄴ Gasp

    ㄴ They’re watching this lol

    ㄴ Ah… (Original poster)

    ㄴㄴ Goodbye, gay lol

ㄴㄴ Don’t worry… I have no intention of disciplining you… What you said is right… Our fault is great… I’m truly sorry (Administrator)

    ㄴㄴㄴ Gasp

    ㄴㄴㄴ Wait, they’re admitting it?

    ㄴㄴㄴ Huh?

Instead of deleting posts insulting the elders and imposing discipline, they were actually acknowledging it and even apologizing.

This showed how seriously the elders were taking Midir’s retirement.

[I’m truly sorry.] – Grand Elder (Administrator)

First, the reason for the Blood Tower Master’s retirement isn’t simply because we weren’t doing our work.

This is what the Blood Tower Master herself said, so you can believe it.

That doesn’t mean we’re without fault.

Because the Blood Tower Master has been working so diligently for the Blood Tower, there relatively hasn’t been much space for us to step in.

Of course, I know this isn’t even a valid excuse.

We also hope the Blood Tower Master will return, but as I said earlier, she’s not leaving because we weren’t working, but because she wants to rest.

Even after retirement, she won’t be leaving the Blood Tower completely. She’ll train the next Blood Tower Master and remain involved to some extent, so please don’t worry too much.

So I hope everyone will help make the retirement ceremony successful.

We’ll also try our best to persuade the Blood Tower Master to reconsider her retirement, so I hope everyone will do their best in their respective positions.

    – If you say it like that, what does that make me who insulted you…

    ㄴ You should leave

ㄴ This guy deserves discipline lol

ㄴ I’ll say it again, I have no intention of disciplining you, so rest assured (Administrator)

    ㄴㄴ Thank you… thank you…

    – GRAND ELDER

    – This time I have to admit it…

    – But why is she really trying to retire?

    ㄴ Truly, no one knows…

ㄴ Only the Blood Tower Master herself knows

    ㄴㄴ Ah…

    – What can we do if that’s what she wants? We can’t stop her…

ㄴ Let’s just focus on preparing the retirement ceremony

    – I haven’t forgiven you yet…

    ㄴ Whatever, they’re coming!

    ㄴㄴ Oh my lol

    ㄴ Hahahahaha

What could have erupted into conflict was resolved when the Grand Elder, wanting to ensure Midir’s retirement ceremony went smoothly, swallowed his pride and apologized.

For the first time, the relationship between high-level mages and average mages was temporarily mended.

And this reconciliation was bound by the very strong tie of Midir Tepes’s retirement ceremony—something everyone loved regardless of age, gender, or rank.

In most Magic Towers, the relationship between high-ranking and low-ranking mages isn’t good.

    In many cases, it’s terrible.

Looking at the Green Tower Master’s situation, which was the worst of all, you could see how exceptional this current situation was.

It suddenly felt remarkable how the Blood Tower Master could bring together two groups that didn’t get along…

    (Shindir photoshopped image.jpg)

She normalized the Blood Tower forum and even normalized the relationship between high-level and low-level mages who were at odds…

Simply the greatest G.O.A.T. of all time.

As expected, normalizing the Blood forum is the great D I R

At this moment, the Blood Tower was united, focused on one thing only:

    Midir’s retirement ceremony.

There was one week left until the retirement ceremony.
