Ch.116111 – Bug Route
by fnovelpia
I had a long dream.
I was lost, wandering through mountains.
The stars that once adorned the sky had all disappeared.
The sky, ground, and trees were all monochrome, adding to the surreal nature of the landscape.
And through the gaps, an ominous red full moon illuminated the world. No, the light only fell around me. I was fully bathed in a red spotlight.
I ran down the mountain aimlessly.
Strangely, I didn’t feel any sense of danger.
I tripped over rocks and even fell from cliffs, but each time, I found myself back at the mountain’s peak.
Finally, when I was about to give up and sit down, a door suddenly appeared at the summit.
Unable to contain my curiosity, my hand was drawn to the doorknob as if pulled by a magnet.
Despite my racing heart, the door opened easily with a click.
Beyond the door was a familiar scene.
My room that I had longed to return to.
It was my private room that no one could find.
The dark room with no walls or windows, allowing not even a sliver of light to enter, was connected to where I was by some kind of door.
I briefly wondered how I could see inside this room with neither electricity nor mana.
But that thought was fleeting, as I noticed a child curled up in the corner.
Though I couldn’t see or hear them, my senses clearly told me there was a child there.
The moment I recognized the child, the room lit up brightly.
But dream-me callously ignored the crying child and instead carefully examined the room.
Photos that seemed to come alive served as wallpaper.
I plucked one of the tangled photos and examined it closely.
There was a red-haired girl wearing a pointed hat, smiling brightly, and beside her was a brown-haired boy with an innocent face who looked distinctly uncomfortable.
Then another photo album flew into my hands, as if demanding attention.
I call it a photo album because there wasn’t just one photo, but many.
I randomly opened the thick album somewhere in the middle.
A man with a jawline that seemed carved by a master craftsman’s sharp knife and deep shadows cast beneath his long eyelashes was truly breathtaking.
When I turned pages with my left thumb, the boy grew younger, and when I turned with my right thumb, he aged, his eyes gaining depth.
What caught my attention were his childhood photos.
A curly-haired girl who resembled him was always playing by his side. Like a painting, they clearly seemed incomplete without each other.
Tap-
The child from the corner suddenly grabbed my hand and closed the photo album, preventing me from looking further.
Shake-shake-
Then the child shook their head vigorously, and with each shake, golden hair whipped against my arm, stinging.
Amused by this innocent behavior, I called out the child’s name.
“It’s been a while, my Envy.”
Nod-
She acknowledged with a single up-and-down motion of her head.
How cold.

“So this disgusting tentacle was just a tar mass all along?”
I couldn’t fully understand the monster’s emotions, but I could certainly read the shock in its eyes.
“What? Feeling bad because I took what you were using? Are you angry? I hope you are.”

Black tentacles identical to the monster’s erupted from my back.
I began erasing the flailing octopus-like legs one by one with my tentacles.
Boom!
Boom!
Each time one of his weapons slammed into the ground, it let out a scream like nails on a chalkboard.
“Or how about this?”

The ticking of a second hand echoes like an auditory hallucination.
Tick-tock.
When the overwhelming magical current compressed intensely into a single point,
Tick-
Tock- Tick-tock-
Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock-
Whirr-
The magic he had cast in life returned to him in exactly the same way.
A beam of blue light created a massive pillar in the blink of an eye, piercing through the monster’s abdomen.
I walked slowly toward the monster that had been blown far away by the impact.
Seeing the large hole in the middle of its stomach fills me with ecstasy. My shoulders shake uncontrollably.
“%$@%^$^%$^”
“Ah, yes! More! I believe you can despair even more, show me fragments of emotion. Show me your face filled with helplessness as you look at me who has taken everything from you!”
It’s not enough.
The bottom of the emotional storage jar was completely shattered, requiring a waterfall of despair.

A red flower bloomed in the dark sky.
The fully bloomed petals showered down like rain, spreading embers that became catalysts, dyeing the earth red.
When the fire caught the black liquid, it finally made a sound worth hearing.
“Wait…! Mortal… let’s talk!”
“Yes! That’s how you should be!”
Look at him crawling up after pretending he couldn’t speak when cornered.
The monster, with lowered viscosity, spread black sewage widely across the floor with tremendous force.
Even its main body seemed to be trying to merge with the floor, starting from the feet, becoming mushy and gradually losing form like sinking into a swamp.

Time stops.
As if the air has been given a sticky viscosity, movements slow down, and judgment, electrical signals from the brain, everything in the world becomes sluggish.
Senses sharpen and physical abilities are maximized.
My fist, swung thousands or tens of thousands of times, struck directly between the monster’s eyes.
With a cracking sound, the monster’s body separated from the ground with a popping noise, and sewage gushed up.
“Kuhuk!”
“No! Not enough! More!”
It’s disappointing. Insufficient. I’m still thirsty.
Like a runaway train that doesn’t know how to stop, Schadenfreude endlessly created new magic circles.
The magic I’m trying to recreate now is quite dangerous, but whatever.

The 88 magic circles that protected the Kaizen Empire deploy in parallel.
Normally, magic that would be physically impossible to cast simultaneously by oneself due to time constraints becomes possible through Schadenfreude.
The Laurel’s restrictions desperately try to interfere with the magic’s deployment, but the permanence and inseparability of “Les Kaizen Familia” deployed from Schadenfreude sharply opposes it.
At that moment, a wolf divine beast’s maw is summoned from one magic circle that escaped the restrictions, opening its jaws wide.
Countless sharp teeth, too numerous to count, gnawed on Jin Chronicle’s body.
It’s not just the body being chewed.
Like a whale taking in 70,000 liters of water at once to eat krill and plankton, it takes all the surrounding land into its mouth.
The ground splits with a crack, and trees and buildings at the boundary break with a crunch.
“The devil’s…! The devil’s advent is inevitable!”
“Haaa… Yes, this is it! So good… Everything…!”
The monster’s howls gradually decreased in volume as it was busy being chewed up.

Occasionally, he would take advantage of his recovered health to create magical storms, attempting to neutralize the magic circles.
The last remaining tentacle began its final resistance.
Thousands of branches split from one tentacle, covering the sky. They shot out with enough force to swallow all the light from streetlamps and moonlight.

Chronicle’s tentacles bounced off like a pigeon hitting a glass window.
No matter how much it pounded and stabbed, the invisible dome would never break.
If you were determined to catch me, you should have at least brought unfamiliar magic like she did.

The sewage that repeated regeneration and destruction was so deformed that it could hardly be called human anymore.
Whenever it wriggled up from the ground, I firmly stepped on it.
The sticky tar clung to my shoes and wouldn’t come off.
Getting goosebumps from its strong desire to consume my body, I threw my shoes into the puddle that had momentarily formed.
Bubble, bubble.
The shoes oxidized amid violent bubbles.
I sat down not far from him to watch his final moments.
He was extremely afraid of death. He was clutching the Laurel of Life, trying not to let it go from his embrace.
Savoring the emotions flowing out until the end, I couldn’t help but smile with satisfaction.
Struggling is always welcome. The more hope appears, the greater the misfortune feels.
Isn’t that right, NoName?
