Ch.114Past Connections Are Dangerous (1)

“Materialization.”
The page that unfolds is the 44th chapter.
And what it contains is the right hand of the legendary demon Volkenus.
After materializing it, I took out a corpse of an American S-rank hunter that I had temporarily stored and began the summoning ritual.
“Undead call.”
Whoosh.
Crackle!
As the spell was completed, Volkenus’s right hand and the corpse burned together, forming a massive flame that took shape.
Eventually, Volkenus revealed himself, staring at Kelshfeed and the deity’s minion he had summoned with piercing blue eyes from within the flames.
[Such an incompetent being dares to be disrespectful before the great Lord of Death.]
As Volkenus tilted his head, the deep-sea monster minion that had just appeared immediately began to burn.
Crackle!
Sizzle!
Kieeeek─!
The flames engulfing its body showed no sign of extinguishing, and though the minion screamed in agony while continuously attacking, it had no effect against the curtain of fire Volkenus had deployed.
[I’ve lowered my power, so you won’t die easily. Writhe in regret until your soul burns away.]
Truly arrogant in character, but Volkenus possessed power to match.
It couldn’t be helped.
Volkenus was one of the rulers of planet Thebe, someone I could only face after reaching the level where I could use the seal of the netherworld.
Of course, he later swore loyalty to me, impressed by my power, but his abilities hadn’t disappeared anywhere.
“This… this can’t be…”
As his minion, summoned with all his might, collapsed without being able to exert any power, Kelshfeed’s pale skin visibly contorted in confusion.
His arms and legs, which had been consistently relaxed, were now trembling finely with fear.
Being a powerful entity himself, he had immediately recognized the power Volkenus possessed.
“Impossible! How could a mere necromancer have such a powerful being under his command…!”
Kelshfeed shouted, denying the reality before him, but nothing changed.
I opened my mouth toward him with an expression full of annoyance.
“You should have been more careful with your attitude. As promised, I’ll burn you exactly ten times.”
As I waved my finger, Volkenus, who had been silently watching, once again summoned flames in the air.
Kelshfeed panicked and hurriedly tried to escape through various spells, but it was useless.
Eventually, he too was engulfed in flames containing immense magical power and began to burn without being able to offer any resistance.
Crackle!
“Kuheoeoek!”
After about 5 minutes had passed, nothing remained before me. Only ashes scattered like dust.
“Good work.”
[No need for thanks. I merely did what needed to be done.]
Volkenus glanced at me briefly and spoke with a puzzled expression.
[Your power is still blocked, I see.]
“More or less.”
[There’s an unpleasant scent. Is there a way to release it?]
“It’ll work out somehow soon.”
After this brief conversation, Volkenus disappeared again, leaving only his right arm in the Book of Death.
Thanks to partially breaking the seal on my power, I was able to summon him, but he’s still quite a burdensome summon in my current state.
“Damn it. Looks like I’ll have to stay in bed for another week.”
I hadn’t planned to use necromancy, but the situation had gone too far.
If Hades were to make a move during this time, it would clearly be a troublesome matter.
But what’s done is done. I stopped thinking about it and moved to where the evacuated civilians were.
Javier and Yesiel had already arrived there and were talking with the civilians.
“I was about to follow you after hearing what happened, but are you injured?”
“I won, so don’t worry.”
“Impressive. I didn’t meet the main body directly, but it seemed like a formidable enemy.”
Ignoring Javier’s admiration, I quickly gestured toward one side of the dungeon.
It was the direction where the escape gate had appeared.
“So the hallway with the altar was the real boss room.”
“Hmm, it seems dungeons are becoming more cunning with each passing day.”
Having used necromancy, I needed to leave the dungeon before my power completely disappeared.
After gathering everyone, we moved toward the gate and finally exited.
Click!
Click click click!
“They’re out!”
“Javier! It’s Javier of the Seven Stars of Italy!”
Looking at the reporters spread all around and the flashing cameras, I let out a quiet sigh.
For the next week as my power faded away, I could only hope that Hades wouldn’t show himself.

At the time when Baek Eunha was escaping from the S4-rank small dungeon.
In a hideout deeply hidden somewhere on planet Thebe, three figures were moving about in disarray.
“I’ve gathered everything. Can you send us with this?”
“Well, it’s possible, but a second time is really…”
“Oh? Why is this half-goddess making excuses again? Do we need to teach you another lesson to make you come to your senses?”
“Ah, really! This was something I shouldn’t have done in the first place. I’m only doing this one last time because it’s you two.”
It was actually a lie. After having confronted the two of them once before, Serejia was already certain that they had surpassed her level.
‘How could they at that age…’
The two people, Astride Luminion and Henesia Roben, showed growth comparable to legendary heroes.
Just a few years ago, they were known as the youngest Sword Saint and Tower Master in history, but now they had even surpassed that, reaching a semi-transcendent state.
No matter how talented one might be, this would normally be nearly impossible.
‘If I were to find a reason, it must be…’
Baek Eunha.
It was clearly the influence of that man who once led them.
Serejia, the demigod who had once sent Baek Eunha back to Earth, finally acknowledged that there was no other option and promised to cooperate with them.
To be honest, since she had already researched and succeeded once, it wouldn’t be that difficult if she had the necessary materials.
‘Of course, finding those materials isn’t so easy…’
Despite Serejia’s attempts to stall for time, they had searched the entire world and brought back divine objects to power the dimensional magic circle.
Even Serejia was quite surprised by this fact.
“Sigh. Fine. But you understand that I can’t take responsibility for what happens after you cross over, right?”
“Yes. That’s enough.”
“Stop with the unnecessary talk and get on with it. Our teacher must be waiting.”
“With his personality, he’s probably not even thinking about it…”
Serejia grumbled, but quickly turned away from their sharp gazes.
Indeed, now that things had gone this far, it would be better to actively cooperate and quickly remove these unstable elements from Thebe.
Two days later, two heroes disappeared from planet Thebe.
Strangely, no one existed who had witnessed their final whereabouts.

After clearing the S4-rank dungeon, Korea once again found itself in the global spotlight and in great turmoil.
【Hunter Baek Eunha Clears S4-Rank Dungeon with 3-Person Party!】
【Seven Stars Javier Appears in Public After 2 Years, Will Stay in Korea Longer】
【Holy Maiden Yesiel and Necromancer Baek Eunha, What is Their Relationship?】
It wasn’t particularly strange.
No matter how small an S4 dungeon might be, S-rank was still S-rank.
Clearing it with just three people was virtually unprecedented.
– As expected, the Seven Stars are different.
– They’re all reclusive, but they’re truly on another level.
– Damn. Where the hell are these guys and what are they doing when people are in danger?
┗ I understand. With so many people calling for them everywhere, honestly, I’d be too annoyed to go too lol
┗ For real
Naturally, people’s attention was focused on Javier of the Seven Stars, but there were also many who showed interest in Baek Eunha.
This was because he had shown remarkable achievements in two consecutive S-rank dungeons—one in America and one in Korea.
– At this rate, he seems unrivaled among recent newcomers.
– Baek Eunha is really no joke. Wasn’t he just C-rank a year ago?
Of course, the reality was quite different, but to the general public, he was just an unusually strange existence among hunters.
And right now, that Baek Eunha was…
“That’s not it. The spell just missed. I made a wrong judgment.”
“Sh-shut up. That was a difficult situation.”
He was still immersed in gaming with Javier, who had now started living at Yesiel’s house.
