When I saw the corrupted resources filled with chaotic energy in the Corrupted Forest, I wondered what I should use them for.

Items infused with chaotic energy generally had improved options or effects, so I thought maybe these resources could be sold for higher value.

But I had to recruit all the NPCs who would buy resources in the village, and after calling the NPCs, honestly, the corrupted resources were just sitting in storage. I hadn’t thought about checking if I could sell them for a higher price.

That’s when I discovered this cauldron.

“Why is this called a cauldron? It doesn’t look like one.”

It looks more like a jar than a cauldron, which is puzzling.

Well, if they call it a cauldron, I’ll use it as one.

After all, its function is closer to a cauldron than a jar.

It says it purifies the chaotic energy from corrupted resources and releases the energy.

I guess it’s like cooking in a way.

Anyway, I struggled to carry out the [Chaos Stone Purification Cauldron].

I tried changing its location, wondering if it had to be placed in the village hall, but the item description didn’t change even when placed outside.

The old jar-like cauldron didn’t break or anything.

What’s clear is that right now it seems like an ordinary, old jar-like cauldron with no effect, but in reality, it’s a jar with some hidden SSS+ grade potential.

With over 10 years of gaming experience, I’ve seen items like this before.

“I bet it gives buffs when you put corrupted items in and level it up.”

I was just wondering what to do with the corrupted resources.

If they create chaotic energy and want us to purify it, shouldn’t they provide proper motivation? I was thinking about that.

Of course, there are separate main quests related to this with quite good rewards, and there are items like the corrupted ring, so I was starting to think less about it.

But this is what makes a farming world complete.

I put the Chaos Stone Purification Cauldron on my belt and brought it home.

I placed the large jar in an empty space opposite the row of boxes in front of my house.

Even though I didn’t know what effect it had, if it was related to chaotic energy, it would clearly have an important use in the future, so I placed it where it was most visible and easily accessible.

    “Let’s try putting something in.”

It wasn’t difficult to experiment since I had several small boxes in the second-floor storage filled with corrupted resources from the Corrupted Forest.

I went up and brought down all the corrupted resources, leaving just one box upstairs.

    It was quite a lot.

Well, I had been farming resources in the Corrupted Forest for days, so it made sense.

I had filled nearly 20 slots of my 300-stack belt.

First, I take out one slot of corrupted weeds and put them into the jar.

As 300 weeds drop into the jar:

    Woong—

A dark light begins to rise from inside the jar, as if something is being mixed.

The dark light gradually fades and slowly turns white.

Finally, a clear, pure light like clean water settles at the bottom and disappears.

And 300 purified weeds pop out of the jar.

Fortunately, they came out neatly bundled in inventory format as a 300-stack, so I could move them directly to my belt.

When I checked what had changed, I found that [Corrupted Weed] had become [Purified Weed], but there didn’t seem to be anything special beyond that.

The chaotic energy was gone, replaced with purified energy, and notably, some weeds had increased by 1 grade—that was about it.

    “Hmm… seems good, I guess.”

Since the weeds themselves don’t have special options, it was hard to find a clear advantage to purifying them.

The 30% chance of increasing the grade by 1 is definitely an advantage, but considering that chaotic energy also has a positive effect on item options, comparing the 30% chance of removing chaotic energy vs. increasing the grade by 1 might not be simple.

For an accurate comparison, I’d need to put in an item with chaotic energy and see what changes occur when it’s purified.

Do I have any items with effects from corrupted energy?

The first thing I notice is the ring on my finger.

“I wonder if this would work?”

    [Corrupted Ring]

This would actually be the best item for experimenting.

Another option would be the gray wolf leather top, but the one I’m wearing doesn’t have any item options from chaotic energy. I’d need to try with one sold at auction, but I don’t have that now.

    “Hmm.”

Even though I can be thoughtless sometimes, putting this in for an experiment seemed too foolish.

The corrupted ring is an important item with its own unique main quest.

Maybe it would display a message like “This item cannot be purified” and return it, but what if it gets purified and breaks the main quest?

What if the +1 to all stats is an effect of the corrupted energy?

Of course, you gain nothing without taking risks.

If I could confirm that purified energy options are better than chaotic energy options, there would be no reason not to try it with the corrupted ring.

    But not now.

“I’ll try it later when I’m more certain.”

After completing the main quest and when the corrupted ring becomes complete.

After receiving all the rewards, then I might try it.

Besides, with the corrupted resources, I was more interested in seeing how the cauldron changes rather than how item options change.

    – Current Purification Energy Level: 1 [44%]

After putting in 300, it’s only at 44% of level 1.

    “This seems doable.”

It might seem like it increases slowly, but considering the abundance of corrupted resources in this map, this is actually a good rate.

Of course, this is just level 1, and we don’t know how it will be from level 2.

But at least I can reach level 2 with the materials I have.

After putting in two more 300-stacks, the purification energy rose to level 2.

    – Current Purification Energy Level: 2 [16%]

    – Purification Energy Effect

    1. Effects from chaotic energy increase by 5% and change to purified energy.

“Oh, so that’s how it works.”

I’m glad I didn’t try the corrupted ring first—that could have been a disaster.

The purification energy effect appears, and then the chaotic energy changes to purified energy with a 5% increase in effect.

It could have been that the options simply transfer over when changed to purified energy, but having it clearly stated like this is reassuring.

    “Not bad at all.”

If this is the case, there’s no need for chaotic energy anymore.

In fact, items with additional options from chaotic energy can be purified without hesitation.

This is essentially a strengthening jar specifically for chaotic energy items.

By collecting chaotic energy and purifying it, you strengthen the options of corrupted items and have a 30% chance of increasing the item’s grade by 1.

“Why would they hide something like this in the village hall?”

They should have placed it in the center of the village like a fountain. Then people would wonder, “Why is this trash in the middle of such a clean village?” and check it out of curiosity. But in that cobweb-covered building called the village hall, people would just think someone dumped their trash there and move on.

I discovered the village not long after arriving in the Rift Dimension, but I only found this when summer was almost over.

Still, I’m glad I found it. In the worst case, I might not have discovered it even after a year or two, which is a terrifying thought.

Level 2 increased by 22% per 300 items, so after adding four more bundles, it reached level 3.

Level 3 increased by 11% per 300 items, and after adding nine more bundles, it reached level 4.

Level 4 now increases by 5.5% per 300 items, ending at 13%.

“I thought I had collected quite a lot, but it’s not enough.”

I spent days farming in the Corrupted Forest, collecting and gathering these resources.

Yet it still feels somewhat lacking.

Not that it’s bad, just a bit disappointing.

But then again, it’s not like the resources are going anywhere.

It just extracts the chaotic energy and spits the resources back out, even increasing their base grade, which is more profitable than just gathering resources normally.

    – Current Purification Energy Level: 4 [13%]

    – Purification Energy Effect

    1. Effects from chaotic energy increase by 15% and change to purified energy.

    2. 35% chance for items with chaotic energy to be purified and increase by 1 grade.

    3. [Inactive: Level 5]

    The joy of farming.

    The cauldron has provided it.
