    Ch.1111. Awakened Vampire

After holding the back of his hand for a long time to feel its warmth, Lisa was finally able to step outside the dark cave at midnight, nearly an hour later.

Since becoming this way, Lisa could easily see through darkness, allowing her to move without difficulty even on this completely dark night without moonlight.

Holding onto the trace on the back of her hand and utilizing her dramatically enhanced physical abilities since becoming a vampire, she began heading toward the location that Ma-Duk’s knowledge—imprinted in her mind—guided her to, traversing the treacherous mountain path.

Occasionally, when she spotted small animals like rabbits along the way, she would follow Ma-Duk’s knowledge by sinking her fangs into their necks and drinking their blood. When the sun seemed about to rise, she would immediately use Ma-Duk’s knowledge to hide in nearby caves.

For Lisa, a gently raised young lady, this journey was like an extremely painful ordeal, but she accepted it all, believing it to be a trial from the great god Ma-Duk to test her.

And then, one day during her long journey.

It was already late evening with the sky growing dark, and Lisa was trying to climb a hill using a thick branch she had found somewhere as a walking stick.

    But just then.

    Swoosh-swoosh-swoosh!!!

Without warning, arrows came flying from all directions with the sound of cutting through the air.

    “Kyaaaaaaah!!!!”

Lisa, who had been avoiding encounters with monsters and bandits thanks to Ma-Duk’s knowledge, couldn’t handle this sudden situation and collapsed to the ground.

Whether because of this or just by luck, it was undeniable that most of the arrows missed her.

But one. A single arrow pierced straight into Lisa’s smooth thigh.

As a burning sensation like touching fire spread through her thigh, Lisa—not being a warrior—had no way to deal with this. She let out a groan of pain and collapsed to the ground.

And then, dozens of humanoid figures who had shot the arrows appeared before her fallen form.

Standing barely a meter tall, with hideously distorted hooked noses and elongated ears, wearing crude pieces of cloth or leather haphazardly stitched together to barely cover their groins, and dirty, wrinkled greenish-brown skin.

They were a type of barbaric race commonly known as goblins.

    “G-goblins…?!!!”

Naturally, Lisa was terrified at the sight of over dozens of goblins armed with crude spears tipped with stone heads and primitive bows.

While female goblins existed normally—meaning they didn’t need to use other races as breeders like in some stories—and their standards of beauty were completely different from humans, so there was no worry about being violated like in adult novels…

Instead, one would simply be dismembered, disassembled, and end up in a goblin’s mouth.

The barbaric goblins of this world were cannibals who ate humans.

    ‘F-Father said goblins are cowardly…’

She desperately tried to think of ways to escape this situation, recalling the goblin weaknesses her dependable father had told her about and using Ma-Duk’s knowledge, but escaping from fast goblins with an arrow in her thigh was nearly impossible.

Moreover, goblins, considered weak in the wild, rarely let their guard down when facing humans stronger than themselves.

The largest goblin, presumably the leader, pointed his bronze-tipped spear at Lisa and slowly approached, seemingly intending to finish her off.

The leader goblin, maintaining vigilance to respond immediately if necessary, suddenly thrust his spear at her neck when he felt close enough. Consumed by fear, Lisa closed her eyes tightly and stretched out her hand—

    ‘…?’

Contrary to her expectations, she felt no pain in her neck or anywhere else on her body.

Moreover, she could hear what seemed to be confused goblin language from all around, so Lisa, unable to properly grasp the situation, cautiously opened her eyes.

    ‘—??!!!’

What she witnessed was her own hand gripping the goblin chief’s spear tip, preventing it from moving.

And since she had grabbed the blade part of the spear tip, her hand was naturally wounded and bleeding profusely.

The stinging pain from that hand…?

    Something was strange.

It was a severe wound—the skin was split, flesh was cut, blood was flowing freely, and the white bone was visible through it all.

But now, she wasn’t feeling any pain from this serious wound,

and furthermore, the pain she had been feeling in her thigh had also stopped at some point.

The goblins were causing a commotion all around, surprised that the chief’s attack had been neutralized by a human child, but Lisa was more concerned about her strange bodily condition than that.

For a human, such strange things…

    ‘…Human?’

That’s right. Thinking about it carefully, Lisa was actually a being that could hardly be considered human.

Her skin felt burning pain when touched by sunlight or flowing water,

she didn’t feel hunger even after hiding in caves for days without eating anything,

and a sip of blood quenched a thirst that couldn’t be satisfied no matter how much water she drank.

Until now, though she recognized it in her heart, she had been trying to deny it somehow, but Lisa wasn’t foolish enough to deny it after seeing this scene.

She hadn’t been cursed—she had transformed into some kind of non-human being.

    ‘…Ah.’

And the moment she accepted that.

As new knowledge from Ma-Duk—about what kind of being she had become—flowed into Lisa’s mind,

the wound on her hand began to heal rapidly as if time were being rewound.

The wound on her thigh also began to regenerate, pushing out the embedded arrowhead, and the bronze spear tip she was holding was no exception.

Naturally, the goblins surrounding her murmured and pointed their spears at this alien and grotesque sight of a human regenerating like a troll,

and eventually, unable to bear the discomfort from the grotesqueness, they tried to stab Lisa with their spears.

    “…《Blood Thorn》.”

However, one step ahead of them, Lisa instinctively splattered her own blood, which was soaking her hand, around her by spinning.

Using this as a medium for magic—she activated ‘Blood Thorn,’ a level 3 vampire-exclusive spell.

    Shunk!

The moment Lisa uttered the spell, her blood that had splattered onto the goblins’ skin suddenly expanded,

becoming blood-formed thorns nearly the size of stakes that impaled the goblins.

As the expanded blood thorns naturally grew toward the goblins’ heads or hearts,

the goblins, whose most heavily armored leader wore merely wolf skin, collapsed to the ground without even screaming.

And after instantly massacring all the goblins like that,

Lisa gazed at them with a satisfied smile, contemplating whether to drink their blood or not.

But a vampire’s desire for blood was essentially hundreds of times stronger than human sexual desire and hunger combined, making it practically impossible to resist.

However, according to Ma-Duk’s knowledge, indiscriminate blood-drinking transforms vampires into mindless monsters, so after some deliberation, Lisa decided.

She would moderately drink only the chief goblin’s blood to quench her thirst, then continue her journey according to the revelation.

…Let’s keep it a secret that the quality and quantity of blood needed to lose one’s mind through excessive blood-drinking increases with the vampire’s rank,

and that as a True Blood Vampire, second from the top rank, she could slaughter and drink from thousands of mere goblins without any problem.

    ※ ※ ※

    ‘…The awakening was successful.’

And of course, her awakening as a vampire was according to my intention.

The goblins were creatures I had brought using the evil god’s unique monster-controlling authority,

and the situation of pushing her to the extreme and inducing her awakening was all orchestrated by me controlling the goblins in real-time.

And the reason for this action was just one.

No matter how much time I gave her, Lisa showed no signs of awakening as a vampire,

so I judged it better to safely induce her awakening myself rather than leaving her to awaken in a crisis.

If she fully awakened as a True Blood Vampire, she would gain unimaginable power,

and I thought this would reduce the time needed to send her to the place where the Blood Divinity was hidden.

In Dungeon & Adventure, True Blood Vampires are the second highest among all vampires,

so monster True Blood Vampires in the game are around rank 3-4. That means they’re mid-to-high level vampires equivalent to level 4 mages.

Of course, Lisa still seems far from reaching that level, but I could endure that much easily.

Therefore, while imagining the bright future after obtaining the Blood Divinity, I sent a revelation to her mind.

    《Follow the guidance.》

Now that she had reached at least rank 6 (mid-level),

there was no need to waste time traversing only safe areas devoid of monsters, as she could now move through somewhat dangerous regions without issue.
