Anyway, toward the pirates.

    “Give birth as much as you’ve killed and plundered.”

    “Nooooo!!!”

    It had been about a week since witnessing Griyanar’s chimera production process—a truly PC equality movement(?) that didn’t discriminate by age or gender.

    During that period, we experienced quite a variety of miscellaneous events.

    For example… perhaps as a reaction to the pirate alliance causing trouble due to Marian’s little “prank.”

    The Earth Federation’s main fleet, including actual battleships, went around stirring up trouble everywhere.

    They ended up destroying a monster nest that was minding its own business, which angered the monsters so much that they deployed a fleet of 300,000 monsters to push back against the federation’s measly 30,000 ships.

    And then the surrounding users, including myself, ignored the actual event objectives and instead temporarily changed professions to become scrap collectors, gathering “byproducts” from the unexpected battles between factions.

    It was certainly a chaotic week in many ways, but if you asked whether it was “difficult,” the answer would be no.

    Quests were rarely impossible for users to complete anyway.

    Even if there were such quests, you could just ignore them or cancel and draw new ones, so there was no reason to stress about it.

    So apart from conflicts with nearby factions and users, we didn’t really have much to suffer through.

    As for conflicts between factions, as I mentioned above, these were actually welcome events from a user’s perspective.

    Conflicts between factions and users?

    Unless it was a forced event through quests, the Earth Federation, which deployed fleets in the tens of thousands just to handle a single sector, or…

    Marian’s pirate alliance, which readily provided 100,000 ships when I asked for a little help…

    How seriously would these factions, which deployed ships in the tens of thousands, respond to users who barely had a few hundred or at most a thousand ships?

    The main forces typically ignored us, and at most, we’d face a detachment from a division fleet.

    So all that remained was conflict between users… in other words, PVP.

    The problem was that PVP, as mentioned long ago by me and in the community…

    Despite the game’s apparent trend toward encouraging PVP…

    Actually engaging in PVP led to very unfavorable results for users.

    Most users, except for some hot-blooded newbie commanders, generally maintained a negative stance toward PVP.

    As a result…

    <Resources Acquired: 8,800 Minerals, 720 Rare Resources>

    <3 Regular Destroyers Captured>

    <External Transport Bay Found>

    —————————————-

    “Hmm, yummy.”

    In this way, I would send my fleet to areas where battles between the Earth Federation and Space Monsters were taking place.

    Either diligently collecting scraps to make a living.

    Or when some overly enthusiastic newbie who couldn’t control themselves invaded without knowing better.

    As usual, due to the difference in skill and luck.

    Most of these newbies didn’t even check the community and just did their own thing, not understanding why people avoided PVP.

    My fleet, specifically designed for long-range harassment, would one-sidedly melt the newbie fleets.

    Unlike typical PVP, my fleet barely suffered any damage.

    It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say I was living a very peaceful and uneventful daily life from my perspective.

    ==========

    But my healing lifestyle didn’t last very long.

    There was a reason why I referred to all the stories above in the past tense.

    That reason was…

    —————————————-

    <General Announcement>

    <Event Notice>

    <Notice to all Commanders.>

    <The current “Price of Goodwill” event will end in 1 week.>

    <When the event ends, the event shop will also close.>

    <When the event period ends, all quests in progress will be forcibly terminated, so please take note.>

    —————————————-

    ‘What? The event is ending already?’

    Despite it being only about 2 months since it started.

    The event was ending much faster than I had expected.

    —————————————-

    <Goodwill Points: 534,764 points>

    —————————————-

    ‘Damn, this doesn’t seem nearly enough.’

    After seeing the event termination message, I checked my points.

    I judged that even if I pushed hard from now on, I’d reach a maximum of around 700,000 points.

    For the final sprint, in addition to the existing high-level quests.

    I decided to accept quests regardless of rank that didn’t require “Superhumans,” deploying fleets and troops without Superhumans.

    I was determined to earn as many points as possible through every effort.

    And separate from those efforts…

    “Hmm, Jessica?”

    “What is it, Commander?”

    “How long has it been since I last checked the community?”

    “Um… about two weeks?”

    ‘It’s been quite a while.’

    Thinking how cruel the passage of time can be, after sending out all my fleets and Superhumans.

    I decided to check the community after a long time to see how people were reacting to the event ending.

    But when I opened the community window that I hadn’t touched for over two weeks and clicked on the gallery.

    Unfortunately, there was no sign of the “reactions and evaluations regarding the event ending” that I had expected.

    ‘What the heck is this?’

    Maybe it’s because I hadn’t checked the gallery for two weeks.

    I couldn’t understand what was happening with the hot topics at all.

    ‘What’s the issue that has everyone so fired up about points?’

    I wanted to just post a question asking what was going on.

    But as I was about to press the post button, I got a strong feeling that I shouldn’t.

    I felt that the moment I posted, some danger I couldn’t handle would come my way.

    No, this wasn’t just a simple thought or feeling…

    It was like a “memory that shouldn’t exist” playing vividly in my mind.

    Accepting this ominous feeling, I took my hand off the post button.

    And decided to just lurk and observe for three minutes.

    After deliberately reading through everything, I finally understood what the issue was.

    The reason the gallery was on fire was about how many points were needed to rank on the leaderboard.

    Of course, I couldn’t grasp all this just by skimming through for about 3 minutes.

    Title: Periodic explanation of current hot topic

    Author: Anonymous

    Content: [Image of a toad giving thumbs up]

    There are two factions in the gallery right now

    One faction claims you need at least several million points to reach the rankings

    The other faction acknowledges you need a lot to rank, but considers “several million points” to be nonsense

    At first, both sides were fairly balanced and didn’t fight much, just arguing

    More precisely, the “several million” faction had a slight advantage

    But recently, starting with 3rd place, former rankers kept posting verification screenshots, which completely turned the tide

    Now the “hundreds of thousands” faction, feeling oppressed all this time, has risen up, and the entire gallery is on fire.

    But thanks to one truly kind anonymous user who provided fairly detailed information.
