Ch. 110 Merry Early Christmas!

    Chapter 110: Merry Early Christmas!

    Rеad̃ &o;n‌ ̂K‍&a;t&R;ea&d;in‍gCaϝ&e;

The end of the year is approaching. And what does the end of the year mean? It means Christmas is coming too.

“It’s a bit early, but Merry Christmas!”

    “Merry Christmas!”

Two days before Christmas, our Blue LUV team gathered for a Christmas party. Since everyone had been so busy after winning the Overwatch tournament, we hadn’t even had a proper celebration, so this was also a belated victory party.

The venue was a hotel booked by our CEO for the day. Even with all seven of us, including our manager So-eun, the place felt spacious and luxurious, not cramped at all. The CEO said it was a big treat to celebrate our victory, but I can’t even imagine how much “big” means by her standards. Surely it’s not something like millions of won just for a one-night stay… right?

“It’s late, but everyone worked hard preparing for the tournament. Especially our youngest!”

    “Huh? M-me?!”

I was about to sneak a bite of the food in front of me when the CEO suddenly called me out, raising a glass of champagne. Startled, I looked up with wide eyes.

When our eyes met, the CEO’s serious expression melted into a bright smile.

“You carried us so hard. Our youngest is truly a treasure.”

“Ah, no, it’s all thanks to everyone doing well. Hehe…”

It felt a bit awkward to receive praise for something that happened nearly ten days ago, so I scratched my head and answered sheepishly. But then Chae-yoon unnie suddenly stood up.

“Kya!!!, our youngest is the best! So polite, so good at the game! How can we not adore her?”

    Thud—

    “Ugh…?!”

I appreciate that everyone likes me, but do they always have to go for physical affection? I never know how to react when they attack me like this. Still, as Chae-yoon unnie hugged and patted me, my small complaints vanished, and I found myself grinning like an idiot.

Even though I’m not a dog, I feel strangely happy when the unnies pet me.

“Did you guys see that? The pro players mentioned Da-jeong!”

“Huh? I didn’t see it. Where?”

    “Me neither.”

Meanwhile, Yuna, who had apparently watched the World Cup interview like me, boldly brought up my embarrassing history and asked the others about it. Of course, Jia unnie and Ra-hee unnie, who don’t usually follow big tournaments like the World Cup, looked puzzled.

“You know the comp Da-jeong made? The players are calling it the ‘Lulu Comp’! And they’re praising her as the ‘God of Overwatch’!”

    “Wow, really?”

“Da-jeong, did you know about this?”

    “Yeah, I knew…”

Of course, I knew. I just couldn’t bring myself to talk about it because it was so embarrassing. I got teased so much because of that interview. Later, when I occasionally played Overwatch on stream, even if I didn’t do anything special, the chat would get flooded with “AELG” (As expected God Lulu).

Even Midnight, one of the pro players, showed up on my stream and donated, saying, “I’m here to learn a thing or two about Overwatch.” That day was chaos.

    Ugh…

“Wait, but I don’t think there’s a related video on the BlueOshi channel?”

“Da-jeong said she doesn’t upload her own clips on the BlueOshi channel, remember, So-eun?”

    “Ah, that’s right.”

No, CEO, it’s not a format issue with the BlueOshi channel. I just didn’t upload it because I was embarrassed. But the editors said they’re going to upload it to our official channel tomorrow. I begged them not to, but they insisted, saying, “As Lulu’s fans, it’s our duty to grow the YouTube channel!”

    I’m scared of our staff…

“Right. Come to think of it, Da-jeong, you left your own clips out of the BlueOshi channel again this time?”

“Ah, I saw that too! There were no Da-jeong highlights in the video!”

“What? I haven’t seen it yet. Da-jeong, did you do it again?!”

    “W-well…”

As I trembled, recalling the staff’s intense demands, Ra-hee unnie brought up the BlueOshi channel and Yuna and Chae-yoon unnie started interrogating me.

We had edited the tournament highlights and uploaded them to the BlueOshi channel, but as usual, I left out my own super plays and only included the other members’ clips. I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal since it wasn’t a recent event, but…

For some reason, everyone seemed mad.

    Squish—

“Da-jeong! No matter what, you should’ve included your highlights too! It’s something we all did together!”

    Uwehh… I-I’m sorryyy…”

Chae-yoon unnie, unable to hold back her anger, pinched my cheeks and scolded me. I had no choice but to apologize while watching my cheeks stretch like rice cakes.

When I mentioned that the official Blue LUV YouTube channel would include my clips, she finally let me go, her anger somewhat appeased.

    Sniff.

But I still don’t want to upload my clips to my fan-dedicated channel. It’s so embarrassing when my avatar pops up in the edited videos.

At least when I played Outlast with Jia unnie…

Since both of our avatars appeared on the same screen, I had no choice but to upload it but I’d prefer to leave out scenes where I appear as much as possible.

“Anyway, everyone, take today to relax without overthinking it, and let’s recharge for tomorrow. Got it?!”

    “Yes, Leader!”

    “Hey, I’m the leader!”

    “Oh, right…!”

As we chatted about trivial things, we dug into the room service food we’d ordered. I always feel this way, but just being together with the members is fun. We don’t do anything particularly special—just gather in one place and share silly stories.

“Ugh, I’m so full…! I’m claiming this bed as mine!”

“Chae-Yoon, at least wash up before getting in…”

As soon as the meal ended, Chae-yoon unnie, as if she’d been waiting for this moment, jumped onto the bed and buried her face in the fluffy blanket. Watching this, Jia unnie started scolding her.

Just seeing this contrast makes it clear how the two of them behave at home.

Erin, armed with the utmost diligence and hard work within Blue LUV, and Lilith, who was once called the laziest in Blue LUV. But because their personalities are polar opposites, they showed unexpected chemistry during collab streams, which was fun to watch. Although it usually involved Erin being dragged along by Lilith’s high energy and getting drained.

“So-eun and I will head in first, so you guys have fun. If you need anything, use this card to pay for it.”

    “Wow! CEO, you’re the best!”

“Are we going to blow through our tournament prize money in one day…?”

As we finished eating and the atmosphere shifted toward winding down, the CEO handed a card to Jia unnie as the representative and prepared to leave.

While Yuna was busy praising the CEO with both hands raised, I was a bit worried that the CEO had spent too much money today. The hotel stay, the room service—it must have cost a fortune.

“We’re not blowing through the prize money, so don’t worry. This is coming out of my wallet, and I’ll make sure you get your prize money properly when we settle the accounts.”

    Bweh… C-CEO… That’s not what I meant…”

I wasn’t worried about the prize money disappearing. I was just concerned that the CEO had spent too much. But the CEO pinched my cheek and jokingly asked if I thought she’d run off with the money. She knew that wasn’t what I meant…

    Tap—

    “Anyway, rest well.”

“It’s early, but have a Merry Christmas, everyone.”

After letting go of my cheek, the CEO coolly turned around and waved. So-eun unnie also bowed slightly and bid us farewell.

But since we’d gathered to celebrate Christmas together, it felt a bit disappointing to see the two of them leave first. Without realizing it, I unconsciously grabbed the CEO’s sleeve and whined for the first time.

“CEO, can’t you stay and hang out with us?”

“No, I can’t. Unlike you guys, I’m a busy person.”

    “Ugh…”

But I wanted to hang out with the CEO and So-eun unnie too. Besides, it didn’t seem like the CEO was leaving because she was busy. It felt more like she was stepping aside to let us have fun on our own.

“I… I want to spend more time with you and So-eun unnie…”

    “…Pfft.”

    “Hehehe…”

Speaking in a timid, almost whispering voice, I expressed my honest feelings. Simultaneously, I heard the sound of laughter, like a balloon deflating. When I looked up, I saw smiles on the faces of the CEO and So-eun unnie.

Blinking, I stared at them blankly when Chae-yoon unnie’s loud voice came from behind.

“She’s right, CEO. Our youngest is being this cute and begging you to stay. You should hang out a bit longer!”

No, I wasn’t really trying to be cute… I just didn’t want them to leave…

“Exactly! Blue LUV is six members, including the CEO!”

“Why not make it seven with So-eun unnie?”

“Huh? So is So-eun unnie debuting with an avatar too?”

As the other members chimed in, the CEO and So-eun unnie exchanged glances. Then, with a resigned expression, the CEO placed her hand on my head and spoke.

“Alright, fine… If the youngest is asking me to stay, I guess I can spare a day.”

    “Really…?!”

    Whew, what a relief.

The CEO can be quite stubborn, so I thought she’d leave no matter how much I begged. I guess this is what they call the miracle of Christmas.

“If we’re all going to hang out, I should go buy some more snacks. I’ll be back.”

“You might need help, so take Chae-yoon with you.”

    “Okay! I’ll be back!”

After taking back the card she’d given to Jia unnie, So-eun unnie prepared to leave the room. Chae-yoon unnie, who had been lying on the bed, quickly got up and followed her.

“Come here, our youngest. If you wanted to play with the CEO so much, you should come over.”

    “Yes, yes…”

And so, as punishment for holding onto the CEO, I had to become a temporary hugging doll, scooped into the CEO’s arms as she sat on the floor with her arms wide open.

While I was held captive, Jia unnie and Ra-hee unnie played with me from all sides, but it was still incredibly fun.

After all, it was my first Christmas spent with someone else, even if it was a bit early.
