Ch.104The Green Tower Isolation Incident (4)
by fnovelpia
I never thought I’d be discovered this way…
This was my fault.
I should have been more careful, but I spoke without thinking.
Of course, to do a rollback, she’d naturally have to check the forum.
If I wanted to prevent that, I should have added a condition asking her not to check the forum when discussing terms.
Though if I had said that, she might have wondered why I was adding such a condition, but it would have been better than being completely exposed like this.
It’s too late to say anything now, isn’t it?
‘No way that would work…’
Seeing her chat asking why the forum was in this state, she must have definitely seen the posts insulting me.
In that case, there was only one thing I could do.
“So… you already saw it?”
“Yes.”
As I thought, she saw it.
Just from her reaction, I knew she must have seen it.
I let out a deep sigh.
Why does nothing ever go right…
Now that she had already seen the forum, it was as good as exposed why I wanted a rollback.
In this situation, there was only one option.
“Sigh… I asked for a rollback so you wouldn’t see that stuff, but you already saw it…”
“Huh?”
“Well, seeing posts like that can be uncomfortable, right? It would make you feel bad… and the elf who wrote it might ruin their life if they wrote it in anger.”
There’s such a thing as a white lie.
I thought it was best not to get caught in these situations, even if it meant deceiving the other person.
That applied even if the other person was Eterna.
No matter how much of a magical Transcendent she was, I knew she still had human emotions, so there was no need to force her to face this.
That’s what I thought.
“I don’t really mind.”
I froze for a moment at this unexpected response.
“You don’t mind…?”
“Yeah, well… it’s not that bad, and I don’t really have any hard feelings toward the kids who wrote this. I actually find it kind of cute.”
“…”
This was a completely unexpected answer.
I was momentarily stunned because I never thought Eterna would have this kind of personality, but then I realized something.
‘Ah… right…’
Come to think of it, she had been a hardcore user of the original forum for nearly a thousand years.
From what I saw, her concept was quite intense, and if she had been active with such a concept, she must have received tremendous insults.
Especially since it was a forum she had been active on for a long time, the insults she received there would have affected her more deeply.
However, despite receiving insults in such places, far from stopping her activities, she seemed to enjoy it even more. This showed that she didn’t really care about being insulted.
So why would she have such a strong reaction to a post where some little elf from a country she created, in a community she made, barely even insulted her but just spread some minor slander? It didn’t make sense.
Now that I thought about it, I realized I had overreacted.
Of course, writing slanderous posts about the founder of your own country wasn’t normal behavior.
Others might condemn it, and rightfully so.
To people who didn’t know Eterna’s personality, it might seem like a post deserving of execution.
But knowing Eterna’s personality, I realized this level of post wasn’t worth worrying about.
It’s… an odd feeling.
I thought it was a disaster as soon as I saw it, but the person herself had endured much worse over the years and considered this level insignificant.
While that was fortunate, at this point I wondered if Eterna should be banned from using forums…
‘Though I don’t have the authority to do that…’
I was just worried.
Still, thinking it would be better to give her some warning, I cautiously advised her.
“Um… I think you should moderate your forum use.”
“But forum browsing is the joy of my life?”
How did forum browsing become the joy of a Transcendent’s life?
I didn’t really want to know the reason, but it was absurd.
“I see…”
Knowing she wouldn’t listen anyway, I could only acknowledge her response.
“So you want to go back in time to erase this because you can’t delete it all?”
“Yeah, and if you do it, I’ll go out with you.”
“Alright, fine. That’s not a big deal.”
Fortunately, it didn’t seem like a difficult task, as she responded positively.
“So when you completely close it off so no one but themselves can enter, this kind of thing happens…”
“That seems interesting.”
I broke into a cold sweat, feeling like she had said something alarming.
Just looking at TowerInside, it was clear that the MagicPad was a magical tool with infinite possibilities depending on how Eterna used it.
‘Surely not…’
I had a brief negative thought but quickly shook my head.
Seeing her interested reaction made me worry momentarily.
‘Nah…’
It couldn’t be.
I want to believe that.
Hmm.

Looking at the results, everything seems to have been resolved well.
The results… that is.
The problem was that right after the rollback, Seria announced that she could no longer maintain this situation, which led to a lot of complaints.
I thought that occupying the forum like this was essentially the same behavior, but there was tremendous backlash from the young elves who were the original owners of the Green Tower forum.
Seria was dumbfounded by their shamelessness, as they seemed to have completely forgotten what happened just hours ago, but she couldn’t ignore the overwhelming public opinion…
“I’m just going to ignore it.”
And then she lifted the ban.
She said she realized she had been too shortsighted. While she was still annoyed about having the forum taken away for hundreds of years, she understood that she needed to talk directly with them and decide what to do.
Well… if that’s what she wants to do, it’s not my concern, but…

[LOL come in and see this LOL]
[Come in and you’ll be sent to a retirement home LOL]
The elves who had already tasted freedom were not willing to go back to the way things were…
There were quite a few elves who rebelled, claiming they were being oppressed.
But the biggest problem was the Scalchwa Tree.
The top posts were filled with Scalchwa Tree images.
In the distant past, when elves lived together in forests without harmonizing with other races, they planted this tree believing that making peace with other races was like selling out the World Tree.
As evident from its appearance at times like this, it was like a dark history for the M Generation, a tree that caused them to have fits just by looking at it.
Since the rollback had already allowed users from other towers and older elves to freely browse the forum, seeing the Scalchwa Tree posts gave them headaches.
“This is actually better…”
While it wasn’t as severe as before, where just looking at it might make one worry about execution…
The Scalchwa Tree was still one of the images they had agreed not to use, so they had to deal with the older elves who would throw fits upon seeing it.
“Wow… they must be really angry.”
“Why won’t they listen to me…”
Exactly.
They seem to have lost their reason.
Instead of having a rational discussion about an issue that needed to be addressed calmly, they were trying to spew as much hatred as possible.
Seria grabbed her forehead and sighed deeply, looking at the precious HP Generation young elves.
But what could she do?
While she wasn’t responsible for everything that happened, she had brought about the isolationist policy on the Green Tower forum.
If it hadn’t been for that, none of this would have happened, so in the end, it was her doing.
So she had no right to feel wronged.
“Hang in there…”
As I watched her post a notice asking them not to upload Scalchwa Tree images and to moderate themselves, all I could say was “hang in there.”
This was…
An internal Green Tower matter, and not something I should get involved in.
I think I’ve done all I could.
“Where do you want to go for our outing?”
“Shouldn’t we go where you want to go?”
“Hmm.”
I think I’ve made my own sacrifice.
Going out with Eterna is a bit burdensome for me too.
Well… it should be fine.
