Ch.104″The event was still ongoing.” (3)

With the unexpected verification posts revealing the actual point holdings of the rankers, it was only natural that the gallery would be in flames.
Nevertheless, most users in the gallery simply concluded that the existing top rankers had abandoned the event.

Title: Looks like existing rankers have given up on rankings in this event.txt

Besides these, 8th place also verified recently
That person had 400,000 points left after doing just one gacha pull
So it’s true they had fewer points than the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place shown in the screenshot who each did two gacha pulls
Of course, the original 1st place and other rankers haven’t disclosed theirs
But at this rate, wouldn’t the others be similar?

Of course, not all users in the gallery agreed with such opinions.

Title: Aren’t these points actually fake?

If you think about it, something’s strange
The date that post was uploaded was just a little over a month after the event started
No matter how efficient someone is, there’s a limit to how many points a single user can earn
300,000 points might be possible, but 5 million?
That’s just not right
Isn’t this just trying to trick us into not buying from the shop?

With claims that the points needed for top rankings—whether 3 million or 5 million—were all lies, conspiracy theories began to spread. Some suggested it was a scheme to make newbies mindlessly collect points while the veterans gave up on rankings and raided the shop instead.

That’s bullshit
If you’re gonna talk like that, show your own verification first, damn it
It’s already hard enough to collect points, you wanna die?

Aren’t they just mindlessly spending points in the shop
Then realizing oh shit, I don’t have enough points
And now they have this toxic mentality that everyone else should lose points too?

Points are fake or whatever LOLOLOLOL
You guys just half-assed the event or
Raided the shop without thinking ahead and now you’re out of points, why are you talking so much?
And now you’re saying “anyway it’s fake” and “having no points is normal”
Ugh, I just wanna

As opposing opinions formed against them, the gallery suddenly found itself in chaos.
The entire community was splitting into factions, and in the gaps between these divisions, strange people with the sole purpose of causing trouble were joining in.
This was making the already confusing situation in the gallery even more of a mess.
Users who couldn’t adapt to the sudden change in circumstances could only remain silent, hoping this insane nuclear chain reaction would quickly subside.
But the person who had triggered this nuclear reaction in the gallery…
“Ah, I haven’t upgraded the base.”
…was just now checking the status of their base.
==========
I’ve completely turned off all notifications about the gallery.
“By the way, have we upgraded our base recently?”
“No, at least since the event started… we haven’t done it at all.”
Following a sudden thought, I was checking the base status and realized we hadn’t done any base upgrades in over a month since the event started.

On the surface, it certainly gave the impression that we’d built quite a lot. But when I looked at the facilities that still needed to be constructed…

While I’d vaguely seen in the gallery that people were already reaching level 6 and even level 7 bases, here I was still not having completed all the level 5 construction.
So I decided to first build the <Additional Docking Facility> to increase our fleet point capacity, then the <Resource Storage>, and after that…
I planned to quickly build that expensive <Forward Base> to upgrade the base to level 6.
But there was one very serious problem…
“Jessica, let’s start by building the additional docking facility.”
“Commander, we don’t have any minerals left.”
“…Huh?”
“To be precise, we have about 2,400 minerals left today, so if we build that, our supply rate will go into the negative.”
“Huuuh?”
I couldn’t hide my overwhelming bewilderment at Jessica’s unexpected statement about our lack of resources.
We had over 10 places mining resources in three shifts, so our daily mineral supply rate should be over 10,000. What was she talking about?
Moreover, our fleet had barely taken any damage, so we didn’t have to worry about repair costs.
And since we’d been too busy to upgrade the base, we should actually have surplus resources.
…With these thoughts in mind, I immediately questioned Jessica about this, but she looked at me with half-dead eyes and answered in a completely drained voice:
“…We’ve been covering the pirates’ repair costs.”
“Oh.”
