Ch.104Chapter 104

The Academy student PPT presentations had ended. Some students passed, others would have to try again, but I silently prayed that everyone would smile from now on. It was heartbreaking to see how 24 hours wasn’t enough for them to help with the Professor’s research, conduct their own research, and attend classes.

Still, I could only hope for good results for everyone.

After the day’s work, I went to a tailor shop located in the downtown shopping district to get my uniform fitted. At first, I was going to buy something familiar, but since a sleeveless top that revealed my chest seemed inappropriate, I ended up getting everything tailored to fit perfectly.

Since I wouldn’t grow any bigger unless I died, and as long as I wasn’t dying to see Ouroboros, I wouldn’t need oversized clothes.

I’d always bought large clothes, but after learning about Ouroboros’s existence and hearing that my body would return to its original size if I died, there was no reason to buy big clothes anymore.

Wearing clothes that fit perfectly felt strange. I liked that my skirt didn’t hang loose, but that was the only benefit. I couldn’t feel the heavy weight of fabric pressing against my body.

The sleeveless shirt with a thin jacket was clearly a summer uniform. It looked hot, but thanks to the Demon God’s blessing on my body, I was less susceptible to heat. Of course, I wasn’t completely immune, so I planned to take off the jacket if it became unbearably hot.

Take off the jacket and ta-da! A sleeveless shirt underneath!

I demonstrated this to the Professor, showing what I’d do if I got too hot. I narrowed my shoulders and shrugged slightly. The jacket, which I’d bought slightly oversized, fell off easily. This revealed my sleeveless shirt underneath.

As I gently opened my eyes to read the Professor’s expression, she smiled at my display.

    “Ourr, do you like it?”

I nodded at the Professor who was chuckling. I put the jacket back over my shoulders after it had been hanging at my elbows. It was a bit large, but not too big, so it sat well on my small shoulders.

Usually, clothes would droop to one side or my skirt would fall and catch on my feet, but now I didn’t have to worry about that. It felt awkward yet comfortable.

I hummed cheerfully with a big smile. I tilted my head side to side and took big strides forward.

“Professor, what are we doing now?”

    “Hmm? Well…”

I glanced at the Professor. Her gaze seemed to be directed at me before quickly shifting elsewhere. When she stopped answering me and her attention turned elsewhere, I instinctively followed her line of sight.

As I turned my head, I saw what she was looking at right beside me. Two female passersby were clutching their phones with both hands, glancing at us nervously. They looked at the Professor and me for a moment before speaking.

“Excuse me, could we take a photo together…?”

    “Huh?”

    What are they talking about?

I’d been wondering why we were just standing on this wide street without going anywhere. The Professor had said no one would know I was a Demon God unless I told them, but these people seemed to recognize me and wanted a photo.

Come to think of it, I had been stabbed at the Academy before. Considering that, it wouldn’t be strange if I’d made the front page news. I hadn’t wanted to look for articles criticizing me since I didn’t want to see hateful comments that would break my heart, but this wasn’t that.

On the contrary, I was dumbfounded that they were asking for a photo with me. I stared at the two people with wide eyes, not knowing what to say. They were just strangers passing by. They weren’t wearing Academy uniforms, though they could be Academy students in casual clothes, but I wasn’t sure.

    “Um… are you Academy students…?”

“No, we’re not students. Are you an Academy student? You look really young.”

If they weren’t Academy students, how did they know me?

I turned my head slightly. The Professor, who had been standing at a distance, moved closer to my side.

“Excuse me, why do you want a photo suddenly…?”

“Oh, hello. Are you her manager? Or producer?”

They must not have heard me call her Professor earlier, as they were guessing between manager and producer. But there are many other professions, so I didn’t understand why they limited their guesses to those.

Not knowing what was happening, I waited for the Professor’s response, and she obliged by asking a question.

    “What’s this about?”

“Oh, I saw her mukbang before and thought she was amazing and cute, so I subscribed. Can she really eat that much in real life?”

The female passerby tapped on her phone screen and showed it to the Professor. The Professor let out an “Ah” of realization. I stared up at the Professor, completely confused.

“Well, yes. She can eat a lot in real life too.”

“I knew it! It wasn’t edited, and I saw everything going down her throat, but my friend said it was all edited and that she spits the food out after eating.”

    Mukbang? Editing?

“Well, no one would believe that such a small body could fit eight pizzas from the start…”

The person who appeared to be the friend of the one who requested the photo broke into a sweat, embarrassed by the sudden mention. She mumbled while glancing nervously at the Professor and me, while her friend nudged her with an elbow.

“I was right, wasn’t I? Anyway, could we take just one photo? I’ll promote you well on my SNS!”

“What do you think, Ourr? Ouro filmed that before.”

Ouro? Is she talking about Ouroboros?

    “Yes, that’s fine.”

I nodded since taking a photo wouldn’t wear out my face. After taking the first photo, her friend also took a picture with me before they left.

I had agreed to the photo without knowing what was going on, and only after they left did I cautiously ask the Professor.

“By Ouro, you mean Ouroboros, right? What did she do?”

“Well, I’d forgotten about it, but Ouroboros got really into watching food broadcasts before and said she wanted to film one herself.”

    “Huh…?”

What’s that? She did something like that?

It was surprising. I never thought of doing something like that, but Ouroboros had taken a step ahead and started broadcasting. I wasn’t sure if I should find it impressive or if I was falling behind.

At first, I wondered why they recognized me—were they Academy people? Was it because I appeared on the front page of the news? But after learning the truth, I felt strange.

It was odd to experience the popularity created by someone else using the same body. Being asked for photos because of mukbang videos Ouroboros filmed made me tilt my head in confusion.

“I want to see it too.”

    “It’s nothing special.”

“It’s fine since I already took the photo, right?”

The Professor didn’t want to talk about it in front of others, and I understood it would be awkward to mention Ouroboros’s separate existence in public, so I had agreed to the photo.

Now that I knew the truth, I reached out my hand, wanting to see the video in question.

I did have my own phone, but just holding it forever wouldn’t make the video appear, so I waited for the Professor to play it.

The Professor shook her head, unable to resist my staring.

    “Here.”

    “Yay.”

The Professor played the video and handed me the phone. I grabbed it and walked right next to the Professor. My eyes were fixed on the screen rather than what was ahead.

    “……”

It was Ouroboros’s video. The problem was that it looked just like me, so it felt like the video was filmed without my knowledge or memory.

The strange feeling of not having filmed it myself, yet seeing myself in it.

But there was something else strange.

    “…?”

“What’s wrong? Is there something odd?”

“Why, why isn’t she saying anything and just eating?”

Time was clearly passing, but from beginning to end, Ouroboros didn’t say a word—she just picked up and ate pizza slices one by one.

It wasn’t on repeat, as occasionally she would drop toppings and pick them up separately, or the toppings would fall off and she’d eat just the sauce-covered bread with a puzzled expression as a highlight.

Even considering that, it was incredibly boring. I couldn’t understand what was entertaining about this that made people watch it. I was starting to worry that the person who asked for a photo might be a bit strange.

“I guess she just wanted to try it and filmed it casually. It’s hard to properly host a mukbang before experiencing society, so she just ate first and figured it out later.”

“I don’t understand why anyone would watch this.”

Yet it had 1,000 views. Compared to other videos, that might not be much, but I doubted I could get that many views if I filmed something myself. Probably not.

Besides, it was amazing and impressive that Ouroboros had gotten 1,000 views just by eating without saying anything.

“Why would anyone find that entertaining? They probably watched it because she’s cute.”

When the Professor said this with a smile, I tilted my head in confusion.

I wasn’t sure if it was cute. Was I unable to see it because it was just my appearance? I still couldn’t believe that a thousand people would watch someone eating silently.
