Ch.103103. What Happened During Yoo Chaemi’s Resurrection

    “Ahem, hmm.”

Lee Lu-a, eating breakfast in Lena’s bed, choked a little on her bread and cleared her throat. Seeing her, Lena created orange juice with her command.

    “Why are you so nervous?”

“Huh? Well… aren’t you nervous, Lena?”

“Hehe. I really made the right choice bringing you here, Lu-a.”

Lena brought a piece of sunny-side up to her mouth with precise movements.

Lu-a looked down at the breakfast that had been brought by the servant right on time.

A fresh sunny-side up egg, two strips of soft bacon, and a mixed berry latte. This was Lena’s menu.

“Why do you always eat the same thing?”

    “Because Elli likes it.”

“I see. Even though you can create things with your command, you still have food cooked and brought to you.”

“Come to think of it, I feel uncomfortable putting something made by command into my mouth. Who knows where it comes from?”

You just made me drink juice you created with your command.

    Lu-a slightly furrowed her brow.

Two hours later, Lu-a and Lena sat facing each other in a clean room with good ventilation.

Lena wore clean, simple white clothes that gave her a pure atmosphere.

She said she didn’t believe in superstitions, but wanted to clear her mind as much as possible.

“They say abilities reside in the soul. I thought that having a clean and peaceful mind would increase the success rate.”

“And you need me for that?”

    “Of course.”

After saying that, Lena brought Lu-a in, took a sip of clean water, and closed her eyes as if meditating.

Lu-a could clearly feel a different atmosphere from the usual Lena, who was calm and neat.

The air and waves around her, invisible energy, subtly gathered around Lena.

Breathing naturally, Lena slightly parted her lips and finally put her voice into her vocal cords.

    “‘Come back to life’.”

That command didn’t cause any great light or explosion. There was no flashy, impressive sparkle that would be easy to recognize.

    But Lu-a definitely felt it.

    Lena’s hair gently rising.

The flow of this space rotating around Lena and floating up.

    Something definitely happened.

    “Lena?”

At Lu-a’s call, Lena slowly opened her eyes. Her breathing became rougher. She hesitantly moved her pupils to meet Lu-a’s gaze.

    And then.

“—Lu-a, it’s nice to meet you!”

    Whoosh!

Lu-a was startled when Lena suddenly rushed forward and hugged her.

The voice she just heard was strange too. It was clearly Lena’s usual tone, but it was so clear and resonant that it felt like a completely different person.

    Lu-a quickly understood the situation.

    “Um, Elli?”

“Oh! Did I surprise you? I was just so happy. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Elli.”

Elli pulled her face away from Lu-a and gave her a bright smile.

    “W-wow.”

Lu-a opened her mouth wide as if she’d lost her intelligence.

It was definitely Lena’s face, which usually made her feel annoyed when they met, but now she felt like she was facing a saint, healing her heart.

    That discrepancy confused Lu-a.

    “Y-you succeeded. Congratulations.”

“Hehe, thank you. You’ve been getting along well with Lena? You must be very patient, Lu-a.”

“Ahem. I do have a good personality.”

“Right? Ui-seok should appreciate you more!”

“I know, right? Geo should know how lucky he is. Where else could he find a second-in-command like me?”

“I’m sure he knows. He’s just the type who has difficulty expressing it.”

“That’s why I have to wait even longer. He rarely compliments me… wait?”

Lu-a was surprised to find herself speaking comfortably with someone she’d just met 10 seconds ago.

“No, wait, that’s not the point! Anyway, Elli is back, right? Lena’s command worked perfectly?”

“Yes. Lena worked really hard while I was gone. I’m truly… so grateful.”

Tears lightly formed in Elli’s eyes. Lu-a let out a sigh of relief.

“That’s good. Lena was really nervous. But does Elli have all her memories too?”

“Yes. Lena and I share all knowledge. If I don’t sleep, I can see the outside from inside too. But we can’t communicate mentally.”

“So Lena is watching me from inside?”

    “She should be.”

“That’s fascinating. Can you switch to Lena?”

    “Yes, just a moment.”

    Elli smiled sweetly.

But soon, her smile turned downward.

    “Why?”

    “…Huh? Lena should come out now… but…”

“What are you saying? Where’s Lena?”

Feeling ominous, Lu-a raised her voice and rushed toward Elli.

    “J-just a moment! Lu-a. I’m calling her right now… but, why? She’s not answering…”

    “Lena!!”

    Thud!

Lu-a tackled Elli and pinned her down. Lu-a grabbed Elli’s head and shouted loudly.

“What are you saying! Lena! Come out right now. Are you planning to give your body to Elli and disappear? I won’t accept that!”

    “L-Lu-a…”

    Elli burst into tears.

She too understood the situation from Lu-a’s words.

At this moment, Elli was the one suffering the most.

“If you’re gone, who will take care of Geo! Don’t be ridiculous! Answer me! Lena!!”

Lu-a shouted at Elli’s face in excitement.

A finger was pressed against her lips.

“Hey, you’ll burst my eardrums, Lu-a.”

    “…Lena?”

Elli—no, Lena, who had returned with cold eyes, whispered to Lu-a.

“I was about to fall asleep because I was tired, but what’s all this commotion?”

“Is that really you, Lena? Is Elli pretending?”

“‘Make a funny face.’ …That’s a bit amusing. Practice more.”

“What the hell. Why did you scare me like that?”

“I didn’t expect the control to pass to me. Still, hmm. I can at least use your screams as a lullaby.”

    “…I wasn’t screaming.”

“Play with Elli. Show her around the world. Good job.”

With those final words, her expression changed.

Elli let out a long sigh of relief.

“I-I was so surprised… I thought Lena was gone too…”

“You two are really an uncomfortable pair of sisters.”

“Lu-a, may I greet Lena for a moment?”

    “Sure.”

Lu-a moved away from Elli’s body that she had been pinning down. Elli remained lying there, hugging her own shoulders preciously.

    “Thank you, Lena.”

Elli closed her eyes and delivered sentences filled with sincerity from deep within her heart.

“You’ve really, really worked hard all this time, listening to my selfish requests alone. I won’t selfishly tell you that it’s okay to forget me. I’m going to live this life that Lena has given me again with fierce happiness. Thank you. I love you, Lena.”

Was Lena already asleep, or did she hear all of Elli’s greetings?

    Lu-a hoped she was watching.

    ***

“Ui-seok, hello! I’m Elli. Lena has been in your care.”

It felt strange to shake hands with Lena, or rather, Yoo Cha-mi.

Her expression is so refreshing, it’s hard to get used to.

“I’m Jung Ui-seok. Should I call you Yoo Cha-mi, the CEO of L Corporation?”

“Oh, don’t be so formal. It makes me sad. We’re dating according to our contract, aren’t we?”

    “That’s true.”

“From now on, I’ll be handling the company side, so let’s be friendly as business partners of Vengeance too. Okay?”

Yoo Cha-mi confidently linked her arm with mine.

I really can’t get used to this.

Her expression and voice are so different that I could mistake her for someone else, but she’s the same person as the Lena I knew.

It’s hard to know how to react when E.lena, who would kill any man who touched her, is acting like this.

Plus, Lu-a’s expression doesn’t look good either.

In the end, I pushed Yoo Cha-mi’s shoulder away.

“Let’s build our friendship slowly. Welcome back, Cha-mi.”

“Thanks to you. Now Lena can focus on her villain activities. Good news, right?”

It seems Yoo Cha-mi is moral and good, but doesn’t have any aversion to Lena’s villain activities. That makes sense since they’re sisters and all those actions were for her sake.

“Is this a different person? The smell has changed.”

    Boksil was frowning. She’s sharp.

But she quickly became happy when Yoo Cha-mi gave her some unique snacks.

“Ah, Somi. I’ve wanted to meet you.”

Yoo Cha-mi bowed politely to Somi as well. She introduced herself and continued with some conversation.

“Um, could I ask one thing… could you not hate Lena too much? Of course, from your perspective, you must be angry, but I think she didn’t have only bad intentions.”

Somi smiled sweetly at Yoo Cha-mi’s apology. Having known her for a long time, I could tell that expression was genuine.

“No, Cha-mi. I actually have things to be grateful to Lena for. I learned some things thanks to her.”

In this way, Yoo Cha-mi had a good first meeting with all the team members.

But she is a civilian, not a villain. L Corporation is just a company cooperating with Vengeance.

My contract with her exists only because of Lena, so it wouldn’t be right to pull her in further.

I think Lena wouldn’t want that either.

As more time passed, early summer arrived.

“Geo, you remember what day tomorrow is, right?”

Lu-a started the day with a smile and those words.
