Ch.102The Green Tower Isolation Incident (2)
by fnovelpia
Seria stared blankly at the message she had just received.
– What’s wrong with the Green Tower’s status?
It seemed like a message sent to her about the serious state of the current Green Tower, but thinking about it carefully, there hadn’t been any notification that TowerInside had changed in any way.
Isn’t that right?
She knew that if there had been an update, all users using TowerInside would have had to log out and log back in.
Everyone had to restart TowerInside when this feature was first implemented.
But this time, she hadn’t felt like there was an update.
Of course, that made sense.
Since TowerInside hadn’t crashed or anything while she was using it, there was no reason to think anything had been updated.
If that was the case, did that mean there was still no way to undo her ban?
Unless she had directly manipulated the Green Tower forum, Midir would have no way to view the forum.
With that thought, Seria hurriedly checked the Green Tower forum’s settings.
As expected, nothing in the settings had changed.
Seeing this, Seria could finally feel some relief.
Of course, the forum not being discovered was just her hope, but if the settings hadn’t changed, there was a high probability that no one had been able to check inside the forum.
‘Then…!’
It might not be too late yet.
Such hopeful thoughts filled her head.
First…
– Did something happen?
– No, I just couldn’t log in… What did you do to the ban settings that even I can’t get in?
When she saw the message, Seria unconsciously clenched her fist in joy.
Just from this message, she could tell that Midir definitely couldn’t check the current state of the Green Tower.
In that case, there was only one thing to do.
While Midir couldn’t check the state of the Green Tower forum, she needed to at least restore the main posts to normal.
Thanks to her posting a notice warning that everyone would be in danger if things continued this way, some posts had been hastily deleted, but there were still quite a few people leaving their posts up.
It was clear that if this forum became known to the world, the Green Tower would face severe criticism.
If that happened, the image of the young faction of elves would plummet instantly.
And if that happened, her position would surely fall along with it, so no matter what else, the actual state of this place must absolutely not be discovered!
Seria, sweating profusely, did her best to send messages to keep Midir from taking interest in the Green Tower.
– Oh, that? There were a lot of trolls, so I blocked people from other towers from coming in
– Really? There were a lot in the Blood Tower too… Those guys really went to the Green Tower too? They’re really something else
‘Uh, huh?’
There were a lot of trolls in the Blood Tower…?
Fortunately, Midir didn’t seem to be paying much attention, but Seria felt like she was going between heaven and hell with every word she spoke.
She couldn’t help feeling that way.
The number of TowerInside users wasn’t that large, so it would be difficult for a mass influx to occur in two towers at once.
After all, only mages could use this community.
Of course, one could argue that there should still be tens of thousands of users at minimum, so what’s the problem?
The problem was that she had said trolls were flocking to the Green Tower, which had the largest number of users.
That changed the story slightly.
Hadn’t she mentioned that Green Tower users were divided into old and young factions?
However, they were ultimately all from the Green Tower, and among them, the old faction rarely trolled.
Even if they did, their writing style would immediately reveal which faction they were from, so it was pointless.
But in this situation, saying that trolls had flocked to the Green Tower meant that users from other towers had come to troll.
After all, users wouldn’t usually troll their own tower.
So what would it mean if she explained that trolls had gathered in such large numbers in the community with the most Green Tower trolls that she had no choice but to adjust the ban settings?
It would obviously imply that mages from other towers were messing with the Green Tower forum.
So when she heard that there were many trolls in the Blood Tower, she couldn’t help but feel caught.
She had said she adjusted the ban settings because many trolls had gathered in her tower, but in reality, most of those trolls were Green Tower users, while troublemakers from other towers were causing chaos in the Blood Tower.
‘Have I been living too busily lately…’
She should have checked more carefully.
It seemed like common knowledge that the Blood Tower was in a bad state right now.
Of course it was.
Even now, things were chaotic because of what happened at the Greatest Magic Tower Tournament, and those who took pride in their respective tower masters or Eterna must have been greatly shocked.
Just because a mere tower master had defeated Eterna, the founder of the Magical Kingdom.
Honestly, even Seria couldn’t believe it when she first saw it.
She knew Midir was strong, but she never thought she could defeat even Eterna.
A human with even more overwhelming talent than herself.
The small mage who had admired her had finally surpassed her and now reigned as a great mage.
Anyway…
– Seria?
“Ah…”
Come to think of it, they were in the middle of a conversation.
Seria, with a blank expression, wondered how to explain this.
Of course, it was still dangerous if the current state of the Green Tower was discovered, but…
Why?
‘If it’s Midir… wouldn’t she help me…?’
Seria had never actually acted as an administrator before.
Until now, she had only lurked on the forum, never posting or commenting herself.
But suddenly she had become an administrator and taken action to overturn the Green Tower, which in retrospect was quite a reckless thing to do.
‘If things continue like this, it’ll be the same anyway…’
Between suddenly showing the chaotic state of the forum and explaining it herself first.
If she had to choose between the two, the latter would be better.
At least then Midir wouldn’t turn against her.
– Um… Midir?
– What?
– Please save me…
– ?
A sudden message asking to be saved.
The single question mark that came back contained many meanings.
In many ways.
* * *
“Wow…”
I was suddenly confused by what I was hearing.
When I received the message saying she had decided to start a revolution because she couldn’t stand by and watch only the old elves using the forum, I thought she had finally gone crazy from the countless tedious tasks and the tyranny of the old people.
But she was even crazier than I thought.
I was dumbfounded when I saw the message saying she thought she had successfully overturned the forum and created one that only young elves could use.
I wondered what on earth she had done.
‘IP blocking and subnet blocking…’
It was called subnet blocking, but in reality, she had created an ironclad closed community that no one except those from the Green Tower could enter.
This was possible because the newly added feature was being used as an all-purpose tool that could do all sorts of things.
Not just Seria, but any administrator could create something like this if they tinkered with it properly.
What made Seria truly impressive was that she had completely pushed out all the original elves who were well-established.
Apart from causing this incident, I really admired her decisiveness.
Especially considering what kind of criticism she must be facing in the Green Tower right now…
‘So that’s why she asked for help.’
I heard she was already being viewed negatively because of the Greatest Magic Tower Tournament, so wouldn’t this make things even worse?
In such a situation, if the forum became a mess because of what she did and showed an embarrassing side to other towers…
The situation could truly become the worst possible.
Seria must be desperate enough to accept help from anyone.
That’s why she turned to me for help, risking everything.
‘Well, in that case…’
I have no choice but to help her.
Even if I help, all I can do is wipe the forum clean, but…
Before that…
– If you want my help, why don’t you lift the ban first
I need to go in and see what the situation is like.
Startled by my suggestion, Seria sent a message asking me to wait a moment, then went silent.
Now, let’s see what’s going on.
As soon as I thought that, the ban was lifted specifically for me, and when I went in…
[Why the Blood Tower Master is a water rocket.fact]
This bastard?
As soon as I saw the post at the top, I thought:
You all should just die.
