Ch.100Legend (Interlude)
by fnovelpia
There was nothing they could do.
They could only suck their thumbs and watch as their forum was taken over.
The Council of Elders tried to reclaim the stolen forum, but with Seria Woodrin standing firm as the top administrator, there was absolutely nothing they could do.
‘We can’t just let this happen…!’
The elders, desperate not to lose the forum, hurriedly wrote and posted messages.
They wrote that they shouldn’t be pushed out, that they too should register accounts and log in to push back against those little brats.
Otherwise, they warned, they would permanently lose access to this forum, but…
– This post has been deleted.
Their posts were deleted almost immediately after being uploaded.
Originally, they had gathered on the Green Tower forum to converse, and having only used the Green Tower forum their entire lives, the concept of using a different forum hadn’t even occurred to them.
All the elders who had been throwing their weight around with their meager admin privileges on the Green Tower forum had everything deleted by Seria alone.
They were pushed out just as easily as they had entered.
This was possible because there was no central leadership, and even the administrators who had once looked after them had become so lax they didn’t know how to manage properly.
Most elves simply wondered why they suddenly couldn’t use the forum anymore, but didn’t take any further action.
The younger generation of elves who had filled the forum had achieved complete victory.
[Holy shit, it’s been so long since this happened LMFAO LMAO ]
[It really has been a while…]
[The stench from those old fogeys is finally gone LMAO ]
[Let’s celebrate~ LMFAO]
‘Did we succeed…?’
Seria, having successfully taken over the forum, breathed a sigh of relief.
Of course, considering the forum’s original purpose, perhaps the older elves had been using it more appropriately.
But even that had devolved into self-praise from the elderly and a culture of looking down on younger elves, which wasn’t right either, so Seria thought this was better.
Above all, forums naturally take on the characteristics of their users.
If a forum exists for a specific topic, it will have a name that matches that topic.
This place originally had different owners, and this current state was, at least for them, normal.
The same was true for Seria.
No matter how much time had passed… it was their territory that had never been willingly given up or forcibly taken.
They still considered the Green Tower forum their homeland and heritage.
“What’s this? I can’t see any posts.”
“You can’t enter without logging in?”
As a result, mages from other towers who came to browse the Green Tower forum were blocked.
To instigate this situation, they had restricted access so that only Green Tower mages who were logged in could even view the forum.
It was a measure to prevent troublemakers from other towers while simultaneously blocking those who had left for other towers but still tried to use the Green Tower forum.
A forum exclusively for young elves living in the Green Tower had been created.
“What’s going on?”
“I can’t access the Green Tower forum.”
What would later be called the “Green Tower Isolation Incident” was just beginning.
* * *
“Looks like it worked.”
– Yes, thank you so much.
“No need to thank me…”
To be honest, I still wonder if all this is necessary.
But if this is what she wants, what can I do?
“You must really hate those old geezers.”
– I’m thinking of setting an age restriction too.
“That feature doesn’t exist.”
– Make it for me. You can do it, right?
“Hmm…”
An age restriction.
If that were implemented, wouldn’t I also be unable to access the forum?
‘I’d have to think carefully about what age to use as the cutoff.’
Of course, as the highest administrator of TowerInside, technically I could still enter, but from a user’s perspective, it would be different.
If people can’t access a forum because of age differences, it becomes a bigger problem.
– If that’s not possible, couldn’t you make a separate forum for those old guys to use?
“You want me to create a separate forum?”
I thought about it for a moment.
If possible, that would be the most peaceful solution.
But a problem remained.
“How do you plan to convince those old elves? Even if we create a separate forum for them, they won’t listen.”
– We’ve already won this war, so if they’re going to be stubborn, we should just make it so they can’t use it at all.
Her answer showed a determination to never give up her position…
I made a complicated expression.
“Well… that’s not difficult.”
It wasn’t like I had to do the work myself.
I merely had the authority; I didn’t know how to manage it.
For things like this, I needed to ask Eterna directly.
So asking her to create a separate forum just for the older elves of the Green Tower felt a bit awkward, but…
‘She’ll probably agree anyway.’
She usually listens to what I say, so she wouldn’t refuse such a simple request.
“Alright. I’ll try.”
– Really?! Thank you, Midir!
“It’s nothing… I understand the pain of having your forum taken away…”
I was helping partly because I felt sorry for the young elves.
The feeling when your community is invaded by another community while you’re actively using it is truly indescribable.
There’s nothing as foolish as feeling a sense of belonging to a forum, but when I was active there, I could exist as part of that forum.
Feeling those emotions as a member wasn’t something to be ashamed of.
Anyone would be unable to contain their anger when seeing intruders in a place they consider comfortable.
I was just baring my teeth at enemies who had invaded my territory.
That’s why I said I could understand.
– I’ll hang up then! It’s not over yet!
“Oh, sure…”
But what exactly is happening in the Green Tower?
From what I can tell from public opinion, it seems like a purge of the older elves is happening specifically in the Green Tower…
Normally, when people get banned from a forum, they go to the Aether Tower or other magic towers to vent their frustrations, but the older elves were somewhat atypical users—when banned, instead of going to other towers to complain, they simply disconnected.
Since they weren’t coming to other towers to complain, there was no way to know what was happening.
However…
‘Well… it should be fine.’
There was no reason for me to get involved.
At least not now.
Seria seems to have it under control.
The young elves of the Green Tower had been causing trouble in other towers because they didn’t have their own forum, which had been a source of complaints.
If they could reclaim their original forum this way and stop causing harm to other towers, it would be beneficial for both the other towers and the Green Tower—a win-win situation.
‘I hope they succeed.’
Thinking this, I searched through the Aether Tower to find any information.
Unlike other towers, the Aether Tower was completely anonymous, so if I searched thoroughly, I might find mages from the Green Tower.
Though anonymity meant their tower affiliation wasn’t revealed, it wasn’t a big problem—I just needed to find users who knew suspiciously too much about the Green Tower.
Sure enough, shortly after entering, I found a user reporting on the situation in the Green Tower.
As I was reading through the post to get a general understanding of what was happening, I noticed something strange.
‘You can’t enter without logging in…?’
That wasn’t all.
At first, they only blocked non-members, but now they’ve made it so you can’t even access the forum without logging in.
It got even worse—now you can’t access it unless you identify yourself as a Green Tower mage.
It was essentially saying, “This is our fight, don’t interfere.”
I tried to enter the Green Tower forum with a blank expression.
However,
– Access denied.
“?!”
I’m blocked…?
‘That can’t be right…’
I’m the chief administrator of TowerInside, aren’t I?
I gaped at the forum that even the highest administrator couldn’t access.
Only they know what’s happening in there.
If they don’t lift this restriction, I’ll never know.
I could only speculate based on the reports.
Young elves versus old elves.
It was truly their own league.
‘Eterna…’
I knew it.
That woman made the feature carelessly.
It was obvious.
Sigh…
I smacked my forehead.
