Ch.100Black Dragon and Explosive Dragon – 1
by fnovelpia
“You’re alive. Thank goodness.”
That was my first thought when I heard the Chairman was looking for me. Thankfully, unlike in the original work, I hadn’t ended up in a state of disappearance that was essentially the same as death.
As I crossed through the academy, still chaotic from the aftermath of the demon invasion, Aria, who was walking beside me, carefully spoke up.
“I heard the news. That you had a hard time because of the succubus. And… some unbelievable things happened too.”
“Yes, that’s right. Though it’s all been resolved now.”
“The Magic Tower has stepped up to actively protect His Highness the Crown Prince and you, Miss Mira. It’s surprising. How did those self-centered people manage to unite?”
The reason the Magicians’ Association had united, and the fact that I was the one who taught them how, was officially a secret. It was my preference. I didn’t want the trouble to unnecessarily spread to my family.
Only the fact that even without the Starlight Order, there was an alternative to holy healing, and that this alternative would soon be announced publicly, had been revealed. This was to prevent chaos resulting from the absence of holy healing.
“Maybe there’s a reason we don’t know about? Or perhaps the damage caused by the succubus was just that severe.”
“That could be it.”
It was actually quite serious. The entire Empire had nearly fallen under the succubus’s spell. If we hadn’t seized the opportunity when we did, the scope of what needed to be excised would have been much greater than it is now.
Even with the current number of nobles who had been enchanted, there were heated debates about the punishment standards—applying strict criteria would eliminate nearly 20% of the Empire’s capabilities.
If the damage had been any greater? It might have become completely unmanageable.
“Um… Miss Mira. I’m sorry. For not being able to help you then. Leona also asked me to tell you she’s sorry she couldn’t help. She’ll apologize again when she sees you in person, but still…”
“What do you two have to be sorry about? It was a situation none of us expected. Oh, but I am curious about something. What were you two doing at that time? I’m asking out of genuine curiosity.”
“We were with people from the Order. They blocked us from leaving.”
“The Order? Why would they?”
“I’m not sure. They wouldn’t answer when we asked why they were doing this. I think they might have been trying to prevent Leona from getting involved in the situation.”
That might be possible. The symbolic significance of the Hero’s position is no joke. With how advantageous our position already was, if Brunhild had been there too, the situation might have been reversed on the spot.
“Anyway, they said they wouldn’t let us through, and that if we wanted to go, we’d have to kill them first. One of them even half-slit their own throat.”
That makes sense. Given Brunhild’s personality, if someone was about to die right in front of her, she would hesitate and ultimately give up. And Aria is known by everyone to be indecisive.
“…And, I’m only telling this to you, Miss Mira. I also stopped her from coming.”
“You stopped her?”
“Leona said it was more urgent to get to you, so we should just leave regardless of whether those people died or not. But I thought it wasn’t right to let them die, so I stopped her… I’m sorry. If I hadn’t, Leona could have come to help…”
“…”
Did Brunhild really say that?
While I might have influenced her somewhat, it felt strange to hear that Brunhild, who in the original work was close to being a pure hero, would say such things because of me.
“I’m really sorry… I was so thoughtless…”
“Huh? No. I’m not blaming you two. You both had your own thoughts on the matter. Why would I criticize you for that?”
Seeing Aria’s tearful expression, I quickly reassured her, realizing she had misinterpreted my reaction. If anyone was responsible, it was me for awakening Brunhild in that way.
“So, I think I prefer perceptive people! They can protect me… and… ah, no. I’m sorry. Please forget I said that.”
After starting to tear up, Aria suddenly blurted that out, then, perhaps realizing how out of place it was, asked me to forget it and bowed her head deeply. The atmosphere immediately became awkward.
In this suddenly awkward atmosphere, we quietly walked until we reached the Chairman’s office. Brunhild, who had been leaning against the wall next to the door with her arms crossed and a cold expression, brightened up when she saw me and approached.
“Mira! Are you okay?! I heard what happened. I’m sorry I couldn’t come.”
“Everything turned out fine, so you don’t need to apologize. So what’s going on?”
“…It’s hard to explain in words. I think you need to see for yourself, Mira.”
Her bright expression darkened again. I slowly opened the door and entered the Chairman’s office. The first thing I noticed was the overwhelming smell of blood. The room was filled with the scent, making my face stiffen.
It wasn’t hard to find the source. It was the Chairman, lying on a makeshift bed in the center of the room.
“…What happened?”
The injuries were extremely severe, even at first glance.
The area around the left eye was completely caved in, and the ear on that side was missing. The right corner of the mouth was torn up to near the ear, and there was a very deep stab wound near the neck that was gushing blood.
The chest was half torn open, exposing the flesh inside. The left arm was broken in four places, and the right arm was nowhere to be seen.
The abdomen was half burst open and had been forcibly sutured, with parts that should be inside visible in places. The left leg was severed below the knee, and the right leg was twisted backward three times at the middle of the thigh.
Blood was still flowing from the wounds, soaking the makeshift bed and the floor. It could only be described as barely clinging to life.
“Where did you get injured like this?”
“…I don’t know.”
Brunhild sighed. Beside her, Aria was covering her mouth, dry heaving.
“The Chairman told us not to tell anyone and has been in this state ever since. Everyone else was refused, but you and Aria were the only ones allowed. Because of that, we couldn’t even call a priest. Well, even if we had, they probably couldn’t have come since the entire Order is under investigation…”
The Chairman’s condition was so severe that it wouldn’t be strange if they died at any moment. Yet they refused treatment—it was strange.
“Even the Chairman won’t last much longer. We need to do something… I know it’s shameless to ask, but Mira, do you have any ideas?”
I do have a method. I approached with a grim expression. Whatever the case, treatment comes first. Questions about where they got injured and why they didn’t call anyone can come later.
‘It should be fine with these two.’
Brunhild is completely trustworthy, and Aria, though she occasionally shows puzzling behavior, is close to being trustworthy. So I didn’t plan to send either of them out.
Besides, if they left and came back to find the Chairman recovered, they’d assume I did something anyway. There was no reason to give the impression that I didn’t trust them. I shouldn’t do that.
“I have a way.”
“Really?! What is it?!”
“Really?!”
Instead of answering, I began drawing a spell formation. A circular magic circle formed around the makeshift bed where the Chairman lay, and complex characters filled the connecting links of the magic circle.
“…What are you trying to do?”
“Heal.”
I infused mana into the magic circle. A green light burst forth. I heard Brunhild and Aria gasp in surprise at the light, probably a color they’d never seen before.
I knelt on one knee beside the makeshift bed. The Chairman was still breathing heavily. I placed my right hand on the abdomen. It felt mushy, as if blood had pooled inside, and something slippery touched my hand.
—Woooong…
With a sensation like something swirling, the green light enveloped the body. The devastated body began to regenerate. Broken bones, torn skin, ripped flesh—everything returned to its original state.
But most astonishing of all was that even the severed arms and legs that had disappeared began to regenerate. Aria and Brunhild were speechless at this sight that defied common sense.
This was the power of “Green Miracle,” a top-tier healing magic that could restore any injury, no matter how severe, as long as life remained—regardless of how the body had been changed.
“Uh… uhh…?”
Of course, there were some side effects. Since the magic essentially recreated the entire body, it dissolved anything it judged as “not part of the body” in the process.
Including the clothes they were wearing.
As the blood-soaked suit dissolved, breasts so large they were obviously enormous even when pressed down by clothing sprang free. Each one was easily the size of two heads.
The rest of the body was similarly exposed. Aria and Brunhild didn’t know how to react to the Chairman’s completely naked form, but since the healing was still in progress, they seemingly couldn’t bring themselves to intervene.
“That’s it. The healing is complete.”
I removed my hand from the abdomen after confirming the green light had faded. The soft, squishy feeling of the lower abdomen that had clung to my palm still lingered.
Brunhild, who had awkwardly approached after hearing the healing was finished, spoke with an uncomfortable look.
“Um, hey. I hate to ask this right after the healing, but could you step outside for a moment? I think we need to get some clothes on first…”
“Of course. I wasn’t planning to keep looking—”
As I tried to pull away, the Chairman grabbed my neck and pulled me closer. Then, embracing me tightly enough to crush my body, yet somehow not causing any pain, they buried my head between their breasts.
Arms firmly constricted around me. A milk-like scent of flesh rushed into my nostrils.
“Chairman?!”
“W-what are you doing—”
Brunhild and Aria exclaimed in surprise and tried to separate us, but even the strength of Brunhild the Hero, let alone Aria, couldn’t easily break the Chairman’s grip.
I remained dazed for a moment, feeling the soft sensation enveloping my entire face, until their voices snapped me back to reality and I applied strength to my arms.
As my body tried to pull away, the embrace tightened, but they couldn’t overpower me. I grabbed the wrists and slowly unwound them, then extracted my head. In that brief moment, I saw the deeply flushed cleavage.
“Ah, no! My child!”
As the now-empty hands clawed at the air, the Chairman opened their eyes.
“My… child…?”
Golden vertical pupils moved from me, who was straddling them, to Aria and Brunhild, who were looking down at us from either side.
Then slowly, very slowly, they looked down at their completely naked body.
“Ah, my child… did something happen…?”
“Well, yes. Quite a lot happened.”
“Ah, ahhhhh…”
The Chairman covered their face with their hands.
Their ears, which weren’t fully covered, had turned bright red.
