    ,Talent…?

Ellie’s eyes widened. As a genius since birth, Ellie probably doesn’t know how amazing innate talent is.

It’s the kind of thing you can never catch up to with effort alone. It’s natural to call it talent, because it allows you to obtain what ordinary people can only get with a lot of luck.

I’m not saying that geniuses don’t work hard. Even Ellie is studying magic while cutting back on sleep.

Of course, there are several students in the academy who work as hard as Ellie.

But the difference in talent always creates different results. Unfairly so, even if the difference in effort is obvious, talent creates plausibility.

Through the quantum jump, I obtained the essence of magic engineering, and with that alone, I could feel a glimpse of genius, even if only for a moment.

Just like Kane said, magical knowledge endlessly pops up in my head.

Just thinking about magic engineering in my head allows me to enjoy it so much that I can stand still and daydream for hours.

,Even if you vaguely say talent… the quantum jump requires an exact terminal. What kind of talent are you thinking of getting?

That’s a sharp point. The terminal for using the quantum jump didn’t have a universal Ross that could acquire all talents.

But my thoughts are already organized. I think there’s only one talent I need to acquire.

,Of course, a talent related to combat.

,A talent related to combat…? Rather, I thought you would naturally choose a talent related to magic?

I smiled and asked at Ellie, who tilted her head and looked puzzled.

    ,Why did you think that?

Ellie straightened her back. Her black eyes, still a little bloodshot from crying, shone brightly.

,The Ross of Yearning said so. Most of the Rosses in other worlds transferred to the Magic Department at the beginning of the semester. Like the Ross of Hope, wouldn’t it be a great help to you if you used the talent that reached the Grand Magician as a terminal?

It hasn’t even been an hour since I gained my memories, but it seems like she’s already reached the point where I was thinking. It’s definitely a valid point. I thought so too until recently. But my thoughts changed after meeting the Saintess.

,Magic would definitely be a great help to me. But I don’t think magic is the answer to breaking all shackles.

Those words seem to have touched the pride of the top student in the Magic Department of the first year, and the girl who will become the Grand Magician in the future. Ellie, who frowned, pouted her lips slightly and said brusquely.

,The Rosses in other worlds chose magic because they thought they couldn’t beat Roel oppa if they stayed in the Combat Department. Just vaguely choosing a talent related to combat doesn’t seem like it would allow you to beat Roel oppa?

It doesn’t seem like she’s just being brusque because I didn’t choose magic. Although her voice is a bit sharp, it clearly contains the desire to help me make the best choice.

,I wouldn’t be able to beat him. In the first place, whether it’s magic or combat, I can’t beat Roel. There’s a setting that Ross always loses to Roel, no matter what he does.

As the Ross of Yearning said, the reason why so many Rosses transferred to the Magic Department was clear. Because Roel is the strongest in the world when it comes to swords.

Whether it’s a greatsword or dual swords, Roel could freely use anything as long as he could hold it in his hand.

So, many Rosses chose magic, which could maximize their chances of winning, rather than a combat-related direction that would be advantageous to Roel.

If I had a high innate magic power, I would have definitely chosen to transfer to the Magic Department. I smiled bitterly and continued.

,The reason I didn’t choose magic is because it’s a path that many Rosses have already taken.

Despite the fact that many Rosses chose magic, they probably didn’t produce any significant results. The fact that all the other worlds are trapped in shackles was evidence to support my words.

,As the last Ross to save all the worlds, I can’t make a safe choice that many Rosses have failed at, can I?

Of course, there is the unusual case of the Ross of Hope… but it’s the same in that he couldn’t escape the shackles.

In the end, even the Ross of Hope, who reached the realm of the sage, bet all his chips on me, the last Ross… magic was not enough for the choice of the last Ross to save all the worlds.

I fully understood the usefulness and power of magic, and that it could give me more options than I have now.

Even so, there was a reason why I chose a talent related to combat, not magic, after much deliberation.

Unlike the Rosses in other worlds, I have an extremely low innate magic power due to plausibility.

To freely use the abilities of the Grand Magician, I would have to focus on elixirs and magic-related artifacts for at least two years to fully unleash that talent.

It’s almost a contradiction that I, who am trying to use the quantum jump recklessly because I’ve lost most of my combat abilities, have to spend two years solving the magic power problem.

If the attack by the Order that I talked about with such a fuss to Estelle actually happens, it will be difficult to protect my life.

Conphosion had already almost killed Luna once. And there was no guarantee that it wouldn’t happen again.

There are spies of the Order hidden somewhere in the academy, and there will definitely be those related to the followers of the Demon King.

Even to protect Luna, even for my precious friends… I wanted to become stronger right away to protect everyone.

But I didn’t just choose it thinking only about the immediate future.

There was a definite reason why I was trying to choose a talent related to combat.

I said with a sly smile.

    ,Do I really need magic?

    ,…What?

As I expected, Ellie narrowed her brows slightly, and I shrugged and replied.

,Isn’t the future Grand Magician already by my side? I can just get help from you for the magical parts. I don’t feel the need to choose magic.

Ellie pursed her lips at my sly answer. Ellie, whose lips slightly turned up, raised her chin and said, as if it was a good answer.

,Well… there’s no need for two great Grand Magicians. But it’s a bit of a shame. If you get the talent of a Grand Magician, you’ll be equal to me, or less.

,…Don’t people usually say ‘more’ at times like this?

    ,Of course I’ll be more of a genius. I’m a born genius, aren’t I?

I was so dumbfounded that I laughed at Ellie’s brazen smile. Ellie’s playful attitude made me feel a little more at ease.

,Still, with this quantum jump, you’ll be able to get something bigger than choosing magic.

    ,More than magic?

At Ellie’s suspicious gaze, as if wondering if such a thing really existed, I showed her the Shadow Spear in my hand instead of answering.

    ,Spear…?

,The talent I’m trying to choose is a talent related to spears.

Before I could finish speaking, Ellie jumped up from her chair. As if she had heard something absurd, Ellie stuttered, looking at me with eyes that were bigger than usual.

    ,Wh-what are you saying…?

Was it a bit out of context? I decided to explain it a bit more this time.

,I’m thinking of summoning the terminal of Ross who reached the realm of transcendence by using a spear in another world.

Ellie glared at me with fierce eyes and said.

,Are you giving up the path of the Grand Magician and choosing a talent related to spears? Are you out of your mind? I thought you would naturally summon the terminal of Ross who became a Sword Master!

I smiled and shook my head at Ellie’s strong reaction.

,No, you’re wrong. That’s a choice that doesn’t take advantage of the characteristics of this world.

    ,Characteristics…?

,I’ve been thinking about it. Why the Ross of Hope tried to revive the discarded settings.

I didn’t think there would be just one reason. Judging from the fact that he made a promise with the Saintess in advance, the Ross of Hope was looking further than I thought.

,Since it was a world created from imagination, he wanted to lift the restrictions. A world full of variables where numerous discarded settings exist and plausibility is applied to those settings has fewer restrictions compared to other worlds, and is full of creative possibilities.

I erased the Shadow Spear I was creating and continued.

,Sword Masters and Grand Magicians already have defined standards. You can roughly estimate how much power they have. But what about non-existent settings like Spear Masters? Because the limit of growth is not defined, unlike Sword Masters, there is no problem with plausibility even if they grow beyond the realm of transcendence.

Unlike my world, the Ross who used a spear in another world would have had his growth stopped by the wall of plausibility because the setting of Spear Master did not exist. But in this place where discarded settings have been revived, it would not be against plausibility even if the first Spear Master was born.

,And more than anything else, there’s a biggest reason why I chose the spear.

Ellie had already given up on trying to persuade me, but she was curious about the reason, and her eyes lit up with anticipation.

    ,Is there another special reason?

    ,Yeah, because of this.

I took out Patouga’s Grimoire from the space warehouse and handed it to Ellie. Ellie, who carefully received the Grimoire, stroked the cover and tilted her head.

,What does Patouga’s Grimoire have to do with choosing a spear?

The way to satisfy expectations is to make the other person more curious. I cleared my throat unnecessarily at Ellie’s appearance, waiting for my answer with an interested look, and paused for a moment before speaking.

,The Ross of Yearning said it. Patouga’s Grimoire is the only one in all the worlds. The fact that it came into my hands was clearly someone’s intention.

Ellie licked her lips with a look of disbelief.

,Could it be that God specially prepared it for the last Ross…?

,I don’t know whose intention it is, but if I get Patouga’s Grimoire, they would have predicted that I would definitely choose a spear to utilize space magic with insufficient magic power. Whether it’s God or someone else… I’m thinking that there must be a reason why they led me to use a spear.

In fact, the Ross of Yearning already gave me a hint. He said that his meeting with me was not a probabilistic coincidence, but a huge cosmic destiny that transcends God’s will… and that the Administrator was already intervening.

I don’t know what an Administrator is, or how they could modify Parelga’s Grimoire and the setting book that the Saintess put in me and change it to Patouga’s Grimoire. Because it didn’t exist in the novel or in the discarded settings.

But if I think about the reaction of the Ross of Yearning, who couldn’t hide his joy and laughed with a face that he couldn’t contain, saying that the Administrator was intervening, one thing was certain.

The unidentified Administrator is not my enemy.
