    92 – Conclusion

‘It’s impossible to defeat Gaia herself.’

    It was obvious.

I was a newly born Godhood, fresh out of a mortal body.

In comparison, Gaia was the supreme, ultimate Godhood that had existed since the beginning of time.

Now that the other Godhoods were dead or gone, she was the strongest.

There was no way I could win in a head-on fight with her.

    The current situation proved it.

    “Parquem.”

As Gaia muttered with an emotionless tone, a giant spear of rock, as if combining hundreds of mountains, flew towards me.

I strongly spread the wings that stretched out from my back and infused dragon mana into my sword.

Golden patterns were engraved on the dazzling blade, amplifying its power.

With that, I raised my sword.

    “Flash.”

    And struck down.

Explosive power erupted, turning everything around into dust.

An immense power that I couldn’t have imagined just moments ago.

    But it wasn’t enough.

“The power of a Godhood is not just that.”

Not only was there no damage left on Gaia’s body, but she hadn’t moved an inch from where she stood.

A war of attrition would be a certain defeat.

Her years of experience and abilities were different.

This strange power surging in this body. The ability to handle this power would be incomparable to mine.

I had to find another way.

If I delayed any longer, my companions on Earth.

And Ha-jeong might be in danger.

But even if I asked what that method was, I couldn’t answer.

A way to suddenly kill a Godhood. It would be great if there was one.

    But there was a hint.

    ‘What Hairel said.’

I recalled what he said when explaining the plan.

-The power of God exists from the beginning and is with the beginning.

All things are also with the beginning, obeying his commands and swearing allegiance.

Therefore, the power of God is the same as the beginning, but different.

The beginning is one and cannot be two.

The power of God is the same.

Hairel told me, as if delivering a passage, in the middle of explaining the plan.

At the time, I didn’t know what it meant, but now I did.

It was a hint to kill this guy.

‘It’s probably because of the restrictions.’

Now I was much higher in rank, but back then I was still a mortal… it couldn’t be helped.

That’s why he must have spoken indirectly.

Now, I had to interpret it.

“You’ve been distracted since a while ago. Are you worried? About Earth.”

“Worried? I completely trust my companions. You better prepare to lose your head.”

But just thinking about it was too overwhelming.

Nevertheless, I had to do it.

While instinctively blocking her attacks, I picked out the key keywords in this passage.

‘The power of God, all things, and the beginning.’

These three keywords were the most important.

    First, the power of God.

It was probably the fierce power within my body.

It was definitely divine power, constantly swelling since becoming a Godhood.

    ‘And all things.’

The world itself as it is.

And that which makes up that world.

    The beginning.

    The Source.

The Source was the power of will. That was why I, weaker than a Constellation, could access the Source.

‘Divine power is with the Source.’

The beginning and the power of God have been connected in the same flow.

I could understand the meaning of those words.

This constantly rising divine power must be supplied from the Source.

The easiest way was to cut off the supply from the Source.

But I wasn’t happy at all.

    ‘There’s no way.’

The connection with the Source is not something tangible.

An intangible thread connected soul to soul.

If it could be shattered by physical force, Gaia would have already done something about it.

    ‘Still.’

    There must be a way.

Hairel wouldn’t have taught me an impossible method.

While smashing the rain of stars pouring down around me, I sent sword energy towards Gaia.

“Do you think that will work?”

And Gaia lightly parried the sword energy with a spear she had summoned at some point.

Her actions, as if receiving a child’s trick, were very irritating.

“Even if I have spent thousands of years in solitary sleep, there is no way I cannot stop a newly born thing like you.”

Ignoring her words, I calmed my boiling emotions.

There was no point in getting excited here.

    I had to be calm.

    ‘Soul.’

A way to cut off the intangible power connected to the soul.

That meant finding a way to attack the soul.

I had never heard of directly striking the soul.

‘Then I’ll just have to create it.’

    Create a skill.

I wouldn’t have even tried it in the past, but I felt like I could do it now.

It was as if infinite power was dwelling within me.

    “Hoo…”

I took a breath and calmed my mind.

    Soul.

Its foundation is a mass of ‘will.’

A ‘single entity’ created by gathering intangible forces such as various desires and wills is the soul.

That meant its foundation was ‘will.’

    ‘Will.’

    Cut the will.

Cut the will to protect Gaia.

    One person’s belief.

What would be needed to cut it?

    The answer was simple.

    ‘The same belief.’

    The same ‘will.’

    My belief.

    That was enough.

    I had found a path.

    ‘My belief is one.’

    Protect those who are precious.

    Slaughter the enemy.

It might seem simple and trite, but it was a mission more precious to me than anything else.

I put my will into the raised sword.

The will of ‘protection’ and ‘slaughter.’

I put both wills into it, but I placed more emphasis on ‘protection.’

The will of ‘slaughter’ was powerful, but it was easy to corrupt.

    For sure.

I felt something other than divine power in the sword.

It wasn’t something with a shape like divine power or mana, it was an aura whose existence was even questionable.

    But I could tell.

    This was enough.

‘All that’s left is to pour everything into it.’

    The target was Gaia’s heart.

The will and soul contained within it.

‘I won’t think about the consequences.’

It would be disadvantageous for me to keep dragging on here anyway.

Now was the only time to settle things.

I drew up all the divine power surging within my body.

The rate of consumption became faster than the rate of supply, and a domineering golden and dark aura spread around me.

    “A desperate struggle.”

“You will die in that desperate struggle.”

The Divine Sword trembled and began to pour out tremendous power.

The power of creation, death, and protection.

To add a little, it was definitely enough power to create and destroy a dimension.

    The moment I felt it.

    I ran.

With a bang! I moved forward in an instant.

It wasn’t a universe or a dimension where something existed.

The concept itself was strange, but I didn’t care.

    “Break.”

Gaia also felt that the energy was different from before, and I could feel her using even more power.

A giant spear flew towards me.

Not one, but thousands of spears like rain.

At the moment when those spears flying from all directions gathered at one point, I swung my sword.

    There was no sound.

Quietly, the rock spears turned to dust.

I ran again towards Gaia, who was still some distance away, leaving it behind.

The speed did not slow down.

“Do you know my pain and sorrow?”

    “I know, but I can’t sympathize.”

The moment I felt her will, her pain came to me.

The betrayal of being betrayed and confined by her children.

The Source she found in endless pain and endless hell.

The destroyed world and herself blinded by jealousy.

If you just look at it, you can see it as a simple myth, but it was a story that had been transformed into something more by coming into contact with the Source.

As soon as those words ended, vines flew in from around me.

Something with the power to tear people apart with just its perfection, a fatal wound upon contact.

But for me, who had no way out, this was nothing.

    “Dragon God Flame.”

The Dragon God, not the Source of the beginning, but ‘my’ Source.

The transcendent flames flowing from that concept turned the vines that were surrounding me into ashes.

    My steps did not stop.

Now the distance to Gaia was less than half.

There was no way she could escape.

Because her myth and the ‘will’ to dream of revenge while firmly holding her place would not allow it.

    “You have no plausibility.”

    Her broken personality and thoughts.

Extreme choices were probably the reason.

It was the result of an immature mind having absolute power.

    Hairel’s tragedy as well.

I smashed everything that blocked my path and headed towards Gaia.

Rocks, grass, flying curses and anger.

I pushed away all those pressures and approached Gaia.

I raised the sword containing my will.

    “Villains, disappear!!”

    “You are arrogant!”

I swung down the sword filled with the will of protection and the domineering power of a Godhood with all my might.

It was a clumsy and simple swordsmanship, but its power was outstanding.

Gaia stared at me with bloodshot eyes.

Her appearance, which had been relaxed until just now, was instantly reversed.

She had clearly underestimated my skills.

Gaia’s translucent barrier and sword began to struggle.

An intangible shield that seemed to be able to block anything.

And a sword of will that protected something, unlike the domineering energy.

    ‘Tear.’

Tear the space, twist the concept.

    It wasn’t enough.

I was starting to get pushed back little by little.

She was starting to get used to the sudden attack.

If I missed it here, I would lose the momentum.

That’s why I added a little more of the strengthening will of protection.

    “Just disappear already!”

    Protect my companions.

That was all I was thinking.

And the moment that will reached its peak.

    With a bang!

The iridescent sword pierced Gaia’s heart.
