    9 – Irregular Gate

The first thought that came to mind when I saw the temple’s exterior was that it was an ancient ruin.

Several stone pillars stood like ancient ruins, easily seen on TV or internet platforms.

And in the center of those dozens of stone pillars was a huge, sturdy temple.

    The temple wasn’t that big.

About the size of a three-story building? But even then, the size of the top floor was ridiculously small, so there probably wouldn’t be any space up there.

As I approached the temple, I began to see the details.

Some sentences on the protruding stones.

Or the patterns of monsters engraved on the few flat surfaces.

But the patterns of those monsters were a bit suspicious.

There were animals and monsters from our world, and even the shape of the gatekeeper monster we killed earlier.

    The Great Death Worm.

As I was thinking about that, Jin Ha-jeong, who was next to me, looked at these pictures and spoke first.

    “Looks like it’s undead, right?”

“Probably. What else could it be if it’s not undead?”

And the monsters that make up half of these patterns are all undead-related monsters.

I don’t know much, but according to the research of dungeon research doctors.

These unusual things that come out of dungeons were all hints, so each one was important.

Anyway, we passed those patterns and arrived at the entrance of the temple.

At the entrance, all I could see was a long staircase leading down from the entrance.

    “It’s kind of creepy.”

    “Scared?”

    “I’m not scared…”

It’s just the atmosphere that’s creepy, just the atmosphere.

    And I have this, anyway.

[Activating skill, ‘Hver’s Evil Eye (A)’.]

    [Night vision effect is activated.]

Thanks to Hver’s Evil Eye, I can see the stairs clearly.

‘For now, there doesn’t seem to be anything dangerous.’

All I can see is a very long staircase and a classic door at the end of the staircase.

There didn’t seem to be any problems right now.

“Let’s go in. What else can we do here but waste time?”

With those words, she leisurely went in first.

And not long after, she regretted that choice.

    Bang!

    “Oh, my god.”

Suddenly, an arrow flew from the side.

Of course, it was blocked by Derkael’s Immortality.

[Constellation, ‘Moon-Cleaving Flash’ informs you that this would inflict a great wound even on an A-class hunter.]

She couldn’t help but be a little surprised by those words.

    Who is an A-class?

They are called the rich of the hunter society, and with the exception of the very few S-classes, A-class is the highest rank among the hunters who are used in everyday situations.

To inflict a great wound on such an A-class.

    ‘It’s because I’m an irregular A-class.’

Ha-yeon, who belatedly realized that this was an A-class dungeon, smiled bitterly and looked at the Derkael’s Immortality she was wearing.

    ‘It’s really amazing.’

    The performance was amazing.

Not even a scratch after being hit by such an arrow.

[Constellation, ‘Moon-Cleaving Flash’ shouts that it’s obvious since he gave it to her.]

[Constellation, ‘Moon-Cleaving Flash’ asks what that guy is doing over there.]

    “Huh?”

At the Constellation’s words, she turned her head and looked up, and saw Jin Ha-jeong still standing at the entrance.

What the hell is he doing there?

Angry at the guy who was standing safely above and looking down at her blankly, she immediately shouted.

    “Hey! Aren’t you coming down!”

“I’m not a knight like you, I’m a mage, so I’m not as strong as you.”

    Ah.

Hmm… It was an understandable situation.

As you know, there are positions among hunters.

Ha-yeon is a close-range dealer, Jin Ha-jeong is a long-range bombardment dealer. There are also tanks and healers.

Until you make a contract with a Constellation, the position is unclear, but after you make a contract with a Constellation, the position becomes clear because you follow the Constellation’s tendencies.

Her Constellation, ‘Moon-Cleaving Flash’, is a swordsman, as you can tell from the name.

That’s why the body of Ha-yeon, the contractor, has become so strong.

But Jin Ha-jeong is a mage.

Therefore, rather than her body being greatly strengthened like her, her magical attack power or control to fight from a distance has been increased.

Up to B-class, it doesn’t matter if you’re a mage or an S-class, but from A-class onwards, it will be a bit different.

She knew that, so she stopped there for a moment and thought about what to do, and soon the answer came to her.

    “Okay.”

As if she had thought of something, she clapped her hands together and tore off the cloak that was attached to her back from her clothes.

[Item ‘Derkael’s Immortality (S)’ has been separated.]

    [Defense power is reduced.]

[Item ‘Crimson Demon Cloak (S)’ has been acquired.]

She grabbed the torn cloak in her right hand, climbed the stairs again, and handed it to him.

“Wear this. Don’t try to come alone.”

    “Too bad.”

He received the cloak and was surprised by its performance, and put it on.

A black suit covered with a black cloak…

“Are you a child of darkness?”

    “That’s harsh.”

    His whole body is black.

His hair is already black, so it goes well with his black shoes, and his whole body is black.

Except for his snow-white skin and red eyes, black dominated his body.

    “Then let’s finally start.”

Even if he wore it, his defense was lower than Ha-yeon’s, so she started walking first, and Jin Ha-jeong followed behind her.

Well, there’s that, and she has Hver’s Evil Eye, so she can see everything inside, but he doesn’t have that, so he can’t see ahead.

The trap from earlier had already been activated, so it didn’t activate again.

Exactly 10 seconds after taking the next step.

    Click.

With a sound of something being fitted, stone spikes popped out on both sides.

But she smashed those spikes with her bare hands at superhuman speed.

    Bang!

The spikes instantly turned to dust.

Ha-yeon, who shook off the dust from her hands, muttered softly.

    “Should I just destroy everything?”

She originally had a short temper.

But she had to live in society, so she hadn’t said anything until now, but now she had the power to do so, so there was no need to!

    ‘Ugh… no, let’s be patient.’

What if there are valuable treasures or artifacts beyond that door or near here?

Yes. I have to be patient.

    “Really…”

She managed to stop the first wave of anger, but she tried to calm her increasingly irritated heart and continued to move forward.

“Hey, are you going to keep following me like that from behind?”

“Why are you suddenly taking it out on me! Besides, I’m still the association president.”

    “Shut up!”

She stomped on the floor and walked forward.

Arrows came out from time to time, but Ha-yeon ignored them and headed forward.

It was just a mindless human tank.

And it was the most solid and powerful human tank.

Then… Ah! Ah! I’ve reached the critical point!

“Ah, damn it! I’m just going to run!”

    “What? Hey, wait…!!”

She just walked, stopped for a moment, walked again, and stopped again.

How many times has this happened!

Ha-yeon, who couldn’t stand the constant irritation, finally picked up Jin Ha-jeong and started running.

Then a huge number of traps popped out.

But it was all useless because she ran before the traps could touch her body.

Her speed was like the wind.

And when she was almost there, a huge rock blocked the entrance.

She didn’t stop even after seeing the rock.

In the first place, this rock was not a threat.

    Bang!

The huge rock was smashed with a single shoulder blow thanks to her great strength.

And she finally stopped her charge.

The lower level she arrived at.

It was a desolate, eerie lower level, but it didn’t have much of an impact on her.

“Huh? I should have been running like this from the beginning! I shouldn’t have done that! Don’t you think…?”

    “Ugh…”

Ha-yeon smiled brightly at the refreshing feeling.

After laughing for a while, she looked at Jin Ha-jeong, who she was holding, but his face was no joke.

He looked like he was about to throw up.

Oh… It’s natural since she broke through at that speed.

    “Th…at… I’m sorry.”

    “Haa…”

He sat on the floor for a while to catch his breath, and after calming down a bit, he sighed and got up.

“I’ve calmed down a bit. I won’t say anything now, but if you do that again… I’m really not going to let you get away with it.”

He fixed his messy hair and looked around, and she also started to look around.

No, to be honest, there wasn’t much to look at.

There were just torches embedded in both walls and the door she saw earlier.

There were huge patterns on the door, and small patterns were embedded between them, and those patterns were like…

“Aren’t those the monster patterns from earlier?”

They matched the patterns on the outside of the temple before coming down here.

Of course, Ha-yeon doesn’t have a good memory, so she doesn’t know, but it must be true since Jin Ha-jeong said so.

But what am I supposed to do with this?

There are patterns, but it doesn’t seem like I can do anything with them.

    “Should we just go in?”

And the result was a charge.

To be honest, I don’t think there will be any big problems.

With that thought, she opened the door.

    …….?

    “Uh… what is this?”

    “You crazy bitch.”

Could it be that the patterns we saw earlier were the monsters we had to catch?

Ha-yeon couldn’t help but sweat for the first time in a while at the dozens of eyes looking down at her.

    Oh… damn it.
