61 – Confrontation with the Constellation (Part 1 Complete)

    Flash filled her vision.

A shimmering cluster of light passed in an instant, and she felt a sensation of floating.

    ‘Wow… it’s incredibly pretty.’

It was like the effect you see in sci-fi movies during long-distance warp jumps.

    She just found it fascinating.

    [98…]

    [99…]

    [100!]

    [Warp complete.]

    Bang!

The ear-splitting sound accompanied a shift in her surroundings.

The first thing she saw was an empty, void-like space.

    ‘No… space?’

No, to be precise, it was like the universe she had only seen in videos.

Clusters of stars surrounded her, and although she couldn’t see any planets, she was currently standing on some kind of star.

As Ha-yeon looked around, a voice reached her ears.

    “The contractor’s here?”

    A boy’s voice.

Clear and refreshing, yet with a certain weight to it.

Ha-yeon turned her head towards the source of the voice and saw his white hair.

And could only utter one word.

    “Hai…rel?”

    The Constellation’s appearance.

It was just like the one she had seen in her dreams, the one called Hairel.

He hadn’t expected her words, either, as his relaxed expression turned to one of bewilderment, and his beautiful blue eyes widened.

“You… how did you know that…? No, could it be, you remembered?”

He suddenly approached her, grabbing her shoulders as he spoke.

Startled, Ha-yeon tried to pull away, but he was too strong for her to move.

“What memories! I just said it because you look similar to someone from my dream…”

At that, he made a face of extreme disappointment before shaking his head and saying to her.

“No… I mistook you for someone else.”

Seriously, was that something you could just brush off with a mistake…?

    But what could she do?

She let it go, and after a moment of contemplation, he snapped his fingers.

Instantly, the surrounding environment transformed from the vast universe into the garden of a massive mansion.

    “Where is this…?”

“…It’s just a place I had ties to when I was human, so don’t worry about it.”

He said, getting straight to the point.

    “First, about the Divine Beast?”

There was a reason why she hadn’t been able to have a proper conversation with the Constellation until now.

It was the censorship from the System.

Anything that would be problematic for humans to know was completely censored, so they couldn’t have a proper conversation.

But now they had met in person, and there was no censorship.

That’s why she had to hear everything in these three hours.

“Yes, what exactly is a Divine Beast?”

And the first thing she wanted to talk about was the Divine Beast.

She had met it in the SS-rank gate before and received the second trial, but she knew it was definitely not an ordinary being.

Also, the Constellation knew its true identity.

“To explain the Divine Beast, you need a lot of background knowledge.”

He said, lifting a teacup that had appeared out of nowhere.

“There are three main tiers in the world.”

A pyramid appeared before her eyes.

He pointed to the lowest level of the three tiers.

    “This is Alpha.”

    The lowest tier, ‘Alpha.’

Mainly referring to humans, various Monsters, and other creatures.

    “This is Beta.”

    And the middle tier, ‘Beta.’

    “That’s the Constellations.”

“Wait a minute, so there are beings higher than the Constellations?”

In human knowledge, Constellations were absolute beings.

Beings who stood in a position that no one could surpass…

“If we were the ultimate beings, the world wouldn’t be left intact.”

If they were absolute beings, the world would be destroyed if an evil-aligned Demon King and a good-aligned Constellation fought.

He said, pointing to a very small tier at the top of the pyramid.

    This is Omega.

“Omega, a place only Godhoods can ascend to.”

    “Godhood…?”

A being she had never heard of before.

She had never heard the word Godhood even once.

“The reason you thought we were the ultimate beings is because they don’t show themselves often… No, it’s not ‘they’ anymore, it’s ‘she’ now.”

There used to be several, but now there was only one.

His words made her head spin.

Of course, it would, since her common sense was being shattered.

“Hmm… how should I put it? Right. We are stars, just like our name Constellation suggests, floating in the sky.”

    You can’t reach the stars.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t see them.

Beings you can see but can’t reach.

    That’s what Constellations are.

“But you can’t even see the Godhood.”

    Beings like distant planets.

Beings you can’t see, feel, or touch.

    That is the Godhood.

“The current Godhood is only one person.”

He put down the teacup he had finished drinking.

“Gaia, the Divine King you call the Mother Earth. She is the only Godhood left.”

    She hadn’t expected that.

Gaia? She was definitely a great being in mythology.

But to think that she was far superior to other great gods and heroes? She didn’t think so.

“That’s right. She can’t become a Godhood if you think like that… But the same goes for the Godhoods that existed before her.”

The Godhoods she knew were a total of three, including Gaia.

    The other two were.

“Thanatos, who became the concept of death itself and has now disappeared, and Odin, the Divine King of Norse mythology.”

    Godhoods before Gaia.

In the case of Thanatos, he literally became death itself and disappeared because he could no longer exist in physical form.

As for Odin… she didn’t really know, he just suddenly disappeared.

“They also had great power, but would they really be worthy of becoming Godhoods?”

    Overwhelming.

    That was missing.

“So I think there’s another function besides what we think.”

    She didn’t know that yet.

“And I know that the Godhood has feelings that aren’t very good towards us.”

That’s why the goal is this.

“My goal is to assassinate Gaia.”

Silence followed those words for a moment.

    In the meantime, Ha-yeon spoke.

“But what does that have to do with the Divine Beast?”

“I was just about to explain.”

He said, relaxing his expression, which had been so serious until just now, and waved his hand, causing the pyramid to disappear and three lights to appear.

Two were white, and the one in the middle was blue.

“The Divine Beast is one of the creations Gaia made.”

    Immense divine power and strength.

Even most Constellations couldn’t guarantee victory if they fought them with all their might.

    However, the problem was.

“Godhoods are the best among living beings, but not the best of all concepts in the world, right?”

He said, creating a being on top of the sphere of light.

    A blue barrier.

    “The System imposed restrictions.”

The System is the world itself.

Something that has changed little by little to match the times since the world was first created.

It’s a blue barrier now, but.

    Anyway, that’s not important.

“It created the Divine Beasts’ trials.”

There are a total of three trials.

Of course, because there are a total of three Divine Beasts.

“The name of the Divine Beast you met last time is Elvaros, the largest turtle Divine Beast among the Divine Beasts. And you cleared that trial.”

He said, erasing the blue sphere of light in the middle.

Then, as he was about to explain the next one, Ha-yeon asked.

“But what’s the difficulty level? It was too easy for a chance to control such a great being.”

Of course, it wasn’t super easy, but it wasn’t worth it.

“The System imposed restrictions to make the difficulty itself easy, the problem is the process.”

First of all, it’s difficult to meet the Divine Beast itself.

The three Divine Beasts are somewhere in the vast universe that still has no end in sight.

You can’t find them unless you have incredible luck, relying only on randomly generated gates.

In addition, the sacred energy that allows you to enter the Divine Beast’s trial.

Not many people have this energy.

    “Then what am I?”

She had incredible luck, found the Divine Beast, received the trial with sacred power, and cleared one.

    Wasn’t this a miracle?

“If you have something that fell off the Divine Beast’s body, it’s not difficult to connect the gate.”

The problem is that there are only three things that fell off its body.

“And I have two of them right now.”

    Why did he have that?

She wanted to ask, but she had a feeling it wasn’t a good thing, so she closed her mouth.

“One has already been used… and one can only be opened in a year due to the storm of probability. And I don’t know about the other one.”

He definitely had a feeling that it was nearby.

Ha-yeon was a little dumbfounded when she heard his words, but she replied.

“I’m the only one who’s going to have a hard time again, right?”

At that, he smiled a little and said.

“But you’ll change your mind when you hear the clear reward for that trial?”

    It’s pretty amazing.

    That is…

“Then that’s enough about the Divine Beast…”

After the story about the Divine Beast ended, he brought up the next topic.

“What about the New King Church?”

A question as curious as the Divine Beast.

She asked naturally this time as well, but the answer that came back was quite unexpected.

    “Hmm… that’s a bit difficult.”

He brought a new tea and said as he drank it.

“That’s still censored, this is censorship that blocks even meeting.”

“Censorship even in a face-to-face state?”

    That was unexpected.

The topic he had mentioned earlier was quite sensitive.

The topic of the New King Church is censored?

“It’s top secret, so I can’t tell you properly… But don’t worry, it’s not like you won’t know the truth until you die.”

You’ll know the truth soon enough.

He swallowed the last words and got up from his seat and approached her.

    “Has it been 3 hours?”

“About 2 hours and 58 minutes?”

It took a lot of time to think, explain, and understand it.

    “Then here’s a gift.”

The item he handed over was none other than a book.

But it was a very unique book.

    “A skill book?”

[Skill Book – Northern Demon Swordsmanship (0th Form: The Night the Sun and Moon Set)]

The forms of the Northern Demon Swordsmanship were newly created by Ha-yeon as she developed them.

    There was no such thing?

“You have a lot of skills, but you don’t have any ultimates, right? Look, it’s the 0th Form. It looks like there’s something there, right?”

    He said with a smile.

She thanked him and accepted the skill book.

“Go back to Earth and learn the skill.”

    “I will always be grateful.”

    “Don’t mention it.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a cluster of light swirled beneath Ha-yeon’s feet.

It was a sign that she was about to return.

“Please take care of me in the future.”

At her words, he smiled softly and said.

“I should be the one saying, please take care of me, contractor.”

With those words as the last, Ha-yeon disappeared.

In that place where no one was left.

Hairel conveyed the words he couldn’t say.

Please take care of me in the future too… Illeyna.

After that, the autumn leaves fell and passed.

    Winter came with snow.

Once again, the snow melted and spring came, and summer was full of sunlight.

    Like that.

    3 years had passed.
