339. FPS

Valorant.
It’s a pretty damn difficult game.
I got annoyed pretty quickly, like after only two rounds.
No matter how good you are at shooting in Valorant, there’s a clear limit.
The fixed maps, limited attack routes, and various skills you don’t know how to use all combine to make you feel frustrated, even pissed off.
And what’s even more infuriating is that my teammates kept nagging me.
Even though I had the most kills on our team, they were so pissed off, they kept bitching at me every time I used a skill wrong, which really ruined my mood.
I mean, you can’t know everything the first time you play, can you?
Plus, kids who sounded like middle schoolers kept giving me shit, so I got so pissed off that I just turned it off.
Team games in FPS are definitely not something you can do alone.
The moment you try to play a team game alone, you’re just asking for cancer. Let’s just play Valorant later when I have someone to play with.
,Isn’t there that game?
I searched for that game that I used to be a top-ranked player in.
No matter how far into the future we are, there’s bound to be games like that.
,There is.
Battle Grounds.
Battle Royale FPS.
I immediately downloaded it and jumped in as soon as it was installed.
,Oh. I like the lobby already.
You could try to matchmake in a place that looked like a special forces armory.
No tutorial needed.
I immediately pressed the start normal match button. Ranked matches were only available after reaching a certain level.
Ttiring.
Ah, I need to set my nickname first.
The most problematic thing when starting a game is always choosing a nickname.
It always gives me a headache. Especially if it’s not a new game, but a game that’s been out for a while, it’s even harder if the nickname can’t be duplicated.
I usually used nicknames related to dismemberment, which is my trademark, but I decided not to this time.
Because I’ve become too famous, and everyone recognizes me no matter what I do, so it’s starting to get annoying.
If this were an old PC game, it would just end with mentions in chat, whispers, or communities, but now that I’m playing in a virtual world, the attention comes directly to me.
At first, I just thought it was great, but it’s starting to get annoying.
If I don’t respond, I look like an asshole, and if I respond to everything, too many people recognize me.
That’s why I don’t stream either.
Because I feel like I have to respond to everything in the chat.
The problem is that Battle Grounds doesn’t change you into a specific character like Valorant, but your real body comes in, which is a problem.
A shorty who’s not even 140cm tall is good at the game? That’s basically advertising that it’s me.
,No. Wouldn’t it work if I just killed them before they recognized me?
There are many ways.
Smoke grenades, flashbangs, sniper rifles.
,I can just cover my face with a mask and deny that it’s me.
I set my nickname to [Kylie]. It doesn’t mean anything. I just wrote whatever came to mind.
Fortunately, it wasn’t taken.
I thought it would be taken since everyone in the world is on one server, but it seems like you can set your nickname in any language, so it’s not easy to get a duplicate.
First, I cleanly used my mom’s credit card to whale and bought a costume that wraps around my body and wore it.
Kung!
The matchmaking didn’t take long.
The start of Battle Grounds was, of course, inside a giant plane.
The difference was that the screen in front of me showed where the plane was moving, and I had a switch button in my hand, and if I pressed the switch, the bottom would open and the people would fall.
There was a place that anyone could see was a hotspot, so I immediately pressed the switch.
The floor opened and I started falling, pyusyung!
,Ooh, 20 people? I think that’s about right?
That aside, can you even play Battle Grounds if you have a fear of heights?
The speed of falling to the ground is the same as the actual speed of falling.
No, I’m really, really gonna die!?
Luckily, the parachute opened automatically when I reached a certain level.
As the parachute opened, I could see at a glance how many users were landing in this place.
Should I just warm up for the first round?
I think it’s going to be a time to learn about Battle Grounds first.
In the PC Battle Grounds, punches or physical attacks were too monotonous and difficult to use.
But this isn’t PC, it’s a virtual world.
As soon as I landed on the roof, I quickly ran and picked up a gun.
Assault Rifle M416
The problem is how to reload the bullets, but fortunately, it’s not completely realistic, and there’s a certain game system.
As soon as I touched the bullets, the UI in front of me popped up and the bullets were automatically loaded.
I immediately shouldered the rifle, aimed at the head of the user in front of me who was trying to raise his gun, and fired.
Tadatatadadang!!!
,Ugh!?
As soon as I fired the gun, it fired in bursts and I fell backward.
I fell on my ass because of the recoil, which was stronger than I expected.
I’m glad the opponent died, but if the opponent hadn’t died, I would have died just now.
,The fucking recoil is no different from reality?
I shot without thinking, like shooting a BB gun, but the recoil was so strong that I couldn’t control it.
Bang! Tadatadang!
I snapped out of it and got up at the sound of gunfire in the distance.
I need to farm quickly.
Every second counts now because so many people have landed.
Bang!
I ducked my head at the sound in the distance while farming on the roof.
Pisyung!
A bullet passing over my head.
It was much stronger and bigger than the gun I just used.
It’s dangerous to be exposed and stay on such an open roof.
As I was quickly going down the stairs from the roof, I made eye contact with another user in front of me.
Tadatadang!

I lost.
This clearly happened because I didn’t know Battle Grounds well.
If this were a PC game, the gun would have gone up to the crosshair as soon as I saw the opponent, but it’s different in the virtual world.
The opponent was already running with the gun aimed forward, and I was running with the gun down.
Of course, it’s clear who will shoot first.
,I guess it’ll be hard if I just think of this as a game.
This is clearly not something that can be solved by being good at shooting.
Strategy and tactics have become so important in this game.
,Interesting.

DINNER!
5 rounds.
I got first place in Battle Grounds in just 5 rounds. And now I’ve figured out the flow of this game to some extent.
Even though it’s a virtual world, the strategies and tactics from the PC era are not useless.
Moment-to-moment strategy and tactics are important, but in the end, this game is a game where you can win without even getting a single kill.
In other words, I think it’s very important to draw a big picture.
Momentary judgment, physicals, and strategy are important, but I think the big picture is more important.
This is something I realized while participating in several tournaments in the PC era.
In the past, it was about drawing a picture, taking a position, and overwhelming the opponent in an overwhelmingly advantageous situation, but now it’s a little different.
My physicals are beyond imagination now.
I felt it while playing Leore, but it became even clearer when I played FPS, where physicals are important.
Especially sniping. And that’s ultra-long-range sniping.
This part is absurd.
As long as I look at the opponent through the scope and the opponent doesn’t suddenly change speed, it’s a sure hit.
Plus, even though they’re very small when I look through the scope, I can see everything even if they move by just 1 pixel, exaggeratedly.
The spatial awareness is also ridiculous.
When I hear gunshots from all directions, it’s like the origin of the gunshots is automatically drawn in my head.
It almost feels like I’m using hacks.
I didn’t know because they weren’t really needed in Leore, but they’re very important in Battle Grounds, so I focused on them and this is what happened.
Of course, I don’t know if I just don’t shoot, but in a situation where a battle is taking place elsewhere, it’s easier to create a more advantageous situation because I get more accurate information than others.
Accurate information, high eyesight, and overwhelming physicals combined to create a disaster.
And what made that disaster level certain was my body.
Because my body size is overwhelmingly small, there were many advantages.
In particular, I had an incredibly advantageous position in engagements in trees, rocks, and buildings.
When I suddenly appeared while hiding, everyone cursed and shouted, ,Why are you here!?, and died, and the dopamine was no joke.
Originally, in reality, I wouldn’t be able to run for long with this body, carry a lot of luggage, hold a gun, or control the recoil while shooting.
But this is a virtual world.
Then wouldn’t it be disadvantageous for those with big bodies? You might think, but this is clearly because I’m weird.
Just like Leore, people with good physicals in reality have good physicals in the virtual world in Battle Grounds.
Taang!
ShakoonTV has died from a headshot using your [ M24 ]. ( 985m )
8 kills
Wow… this is crazy even if I say so myself.
I hit the opponent while they were going over the building window and down.
No, I hit it every time I shoot, so the game feels so fun?
