15. Vibration (1)
by Afuhfuihgs
Today, too, I woke up drenched in sweat.
The pajamas I slept in were damp, and I couldn’t put much strength into my waist.
And the hazy feeling in my head wouldn’t easily go away.
“Did I have a lewd dream or something?”
If so, I wish I could remember it.
Nothing comes to mind.
“Ugh, this is really annoying.”
Lately, I’ve been saying that all the time.
My sister in my previous life used to be like this.
After lingering on the bed for a bit, I finally managed to get out of my room and headed straight for Jane’s room.
“Ugh.”
Just how hot of a night did she spend? The room was filled with a lewd smell.
I instinctively flared my nostrils, then quickly covered my nose and shook Jane, who was wrapped up in her blanket.
“Master, wake up.”
“Mmm.”
Jane, who couldn’t shake off her sleepiness, was also drenched in sweat like me.
Is it because it’s summer, after all?
It would be nice to have something like an air conditioner.
“Huh?”
A familiar sight suddenly flashed through my mind.
The slime dildos and love gels displayed in the store shouldn’t be kept at too high a temperature.
So Jane had cast a temperature control Magic on the display case itself.
A Magic that expels heat from a certain space to the outside.
Isn’t this just an air conditioner?
Hearing my thoughts, Jane yawned languidly and said,
“Then I’ll put one in Lily’s room too.”
“Wow! Thank you… wait, then why didn’t you put one in until now?”
It wasn’t a complaint, just a question born of curiosity.
But after hearing Jane’s answer, I unconsciously frowned.
“Lily, a sense of the seasons is important. It’s good for your health to feel the heat when it’s hot and the cold when it’s cold.”
“Wow, you sounded just like a grandma just now.”
At that moment, I saw stars before my eyes.
-Kkung
“Ugh!”
Rubbing my throbbing scalp, I looked up at Jane, who had given me a knuckle rap.
She was actually frowning.
For the sin of daring to call my Master a grandma first thing in the morning, I had to go into the bathroom with Jane.
I trembled with fear as I entered, but unexpectedly, nothing happened.
Wait, then it’s not a punishment?
***
I took out my Memory Notebook for the first time in a while and wrote down the information about my sister that came to mind this morning.
Then I carefully read what I had written so far.
“She’s not a sister, she’s a complete rhinoceros!”
Her behavior, obedient to instinct and prone to anger, fit perfectly.
What on earth did I live with in my previous life?
Just then, Jane came downstairs after drying her long hair.
And she threw out a sudden question.
“Lily, what do you think about vibration?”
“Huh? Vibration? Suddenly?”
Jane’s expression was utterly serious.
Even so, it was probably a thought that came to her while pondering something lewd.
Honestly, I don’t particularly like vibration.
It was simply for professional reasons.
When I didn’t answer immediately, Jane changed her question.
“Is vibration pleasant?”
As expected, it was about something lewd.
Confirming that my prediction was correct, I nodded obediently.
“I suppose so. I remember there were quite a lot of vibrating adult toys in my previous life.”
“Draw it for me.”
“Ah.”
As a consequence of falling for a common leading question, I had to rack my brain, which wasn’t working well.
As sketches rapidly accumulated, Jane’s curiosity grew along with them.
“Is this really an adult toy? It doesn’t look very lewd.”
“I heard they were originally made for massage.”
“Oh, this one looks cute.”
What am I doing right now?
Jane was showing off her liveliness, like a freshman who had just entered college.
Thanks to her, I got carried away by the atmosphere and ended up drawing all sorts of toys.
After examining the sketches for a moment, Jane asked,
“These also move with mechanical devices, right?”
“That’s right. They almost all have motors.”
“Motors? The one you told me about before? How do they create vibration?”
“Well, they create it by installing a rotor with an off-center weight on the motor. Huh? Jane?”
Why is she suddenly asking about this?
Can’t she just make it vibrate with Magic?
The answer to my question came quickly.
“Because Magic is expensive.”
“Right, that’s true.”
If it were Magic, there would be no need to complicatedly wrap magnets with copper.
The problem, as always, was money.
Materials like special Magic Power-friendly metals or inks are not cheap.
“So I was trying to find a substitute.”
Feeling a bit deflated, I blurted out whatever came to mind.
“Why don’t we use monsters?”
“I did think about it. But it’s dangerous to just use them. And they’re expensive too.”
“There must be at least one that trembles, right? We can just extract the vibrating part and Process it, like slime.”
It was truly something I said without thinking.
“Ah, Killing Chesnut.”
“Kill, what?”
What kind of brutal name is that?
A murderous chestnut, seriously.
Whether I was horrified or not, Jane had entered her own world.
“Right, that was it. We can remove all the thorny parts and just Process the kernel to put inside.”
“Jane?”
“It’s summer, so the timing is good too.”
“Jane? Master?”
Jane suddenly stood up and moved a bit hastily as she spoke.
“Lily, let’s close the shop today and tomorrow. I’ll be out for a bit.”
“Can we do that? But where are you going?”
“The Royal Palace.”
And so, my Master abruptly went out, leaving me alone.
With the sudden holiday, I was dumbfounded.
But why today and tomorrow? Is there really a need to close the shop for two days?
While Jane was away, I rummaged through books in the Laboratory.
She had only told me the name Killing Chesnut, and I was dying of curiosity.
“It lives up to its name.”
According to the monster dictionary, Killing-, the murderous chestnut, was a chestnut, just as its name suggested.
It was classified as a plant-type, like Mandrake, and also possessed poison.
The particularly dangerous part was its fruit.
Like regular chestnuts, its chestnut burrs would fall to the ground in autumn.
The problem was that if they pierced an animal’s foot or leg, they would vibrate wildly and dig deep.
Moreover, the thorns themselves were densely covered with barbs, making them extremely difficult to remove.
After looking up the dictionary, eating dinner, and lounging around for a bit, Jane returned.
She unilaterally informed me,
“Let’s go pick chestnuts tomorrow.”
Suddenly?
“Really? Isn’t it dangerous?”
Recalling the murderous chestnut Jane had mentioned in the morning, I felt a little worried.
The dictionary said its danger level was low, but it was still a monster.
“It’s fine. And you’re going with me, aren’t you?”
Jane’s confident remark reassured me far too easily.
“Oh, so that’s why we’re closing the shop tomorrow too?”
“Yep, let’s go as if we’re going on a picnic.”
Exhausted by the recent increase in customers, I cheered.
“Yay!”
Perhaps my mind was following my body’s youth.
I unconsciously threw my hands up and rejoiced like a child.
“You like it that much?”
My cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
But the shame quickly disappeared at the sight of Jane’s chuckling face as she looked at me.
My heart pounded.
***
The first memory of flying in the sky.
I still can’t forget the first time I came to the Fairy’s Playground.
So I thought this picnic would also involve flying through the sky.
But unexpectedly, Jane rented a carriage.
“Ohhh.”
Carriage wheels as tall as I was.
A sophisticated black exterior.
And a similarly gigantic horse, befitting the large carriage.
“He’s handsome.”
Among the horses I’d seen in this world, he was the largest and most beautiful.
My aversion from my previous life completely vanished.
As I reached out to touch him, Jane playfully said,
“You might get bitten if you do that.”
“Really?”
I was startled and tried to pull my hand back, but the horse was faster, rubbing his muzzle against my hand.
It was warm and soft.
“Ohhh.”
Looking at his gentle eyes, I stroked him.
Next to me, the coachman looked surprised.
“Johnny is trained not to pay attention to strangers, so this is quite surprising.”
Suddenly, I sensed something strange.
The carriage, the horse, and the clothes the coachman was wearing were all luxurious.
Much more so than what the considerably wealthy Madame Rosefield rode in.
“Jane, you said you borrowed this, right?”
“Yeah.”
“From whom?”
“The King.”
“What?!”
Is that even allowed?
Her answer was utterly nonchalant.
My head throbbed, and I pressed my temples.
But then I understood.
Well, it’s Jane, after all.
***
After traveling for about three hours by carriage, Jane and I arrived at the murderous chestnut tree forest.
The forest was royal property.
Monsters were usually to be subjugated.
However, these particular ones were said to be cultivated separately because they were very useful.
On the way, I heard an explanation that their wood was hard and dense, making it good for building ships.
Before entering the forest in earnest,
Jane put the hat she had prepared on me.
“This is a gift.”
“Oh.”
A straw hat with a wide brim.
After putting it on, a cool breeze gently blew.
“Here are gloves and boots too.”
Wearing the red rubber gloves and boots, I looked up at Jane.
“What about Master?”
“Do I need those?”
“That’s true.”
It would be a comedy if a mere chestnut burr could harm an Archmage.
Fully equipped, I took Jane’s hand and entered the forest.
And soon after, I covered my nose.
“Ugh! The smell!”
“It’s a bit strong.”
This scent was strangely familiar yet repulsive.
Where had I smelled it before…?
“Semen?”
Come to think of it, I had seen the smell of semen described as the smell of chestnut flowers.
I didn’t particularly want to experience it so vividly.
“It seems the flowers haven’t fully fallen yet.”
Jane’s words made me a little worried.
Our goal was chestnut burrs, what if they hadn’t opened yet?
But it was a completely groundless fear.
Because soon after, I saw unripe chestnut burrs scattered here and there.
“Shall we begin?”
“Yes!”
Jane picked the chestnuts with Magic, and I collected them.
The sharp thorns couldn’t pierce the gloves and boots Jane had given me.
“Hehehe.”
I never knew spending time with Jane doing such simple chores, even without anything lewd, could be so enjoyable.
As proof, Master also couldn’t wipe the faint smile off her face.
It was peaceful.
