    141. Prelude to the Counterattack (2)

    Rasriel couldn’t speak.

Once, as a Dark Elf, she was considered beautiful enough to be compared to Remiella.

But now, her face was terribly distorted.

“Why are those bastards unharmed! Why aren’t they flooded!”

But none of the generals, none of the staff officers, could answer her.

    They were all equally horrified.

    Shwaaaaaaa-

Even the main camp of the monster army, located on relatively high ground, upstream, was being flooded with rain.

An artificial storm created by concentrating Aquarite’s demonic magic power.

So, the main camp of the Western Demon King’s army, located in the lowlands, should have been submerged by now.

“Rasriel-nim… we don’t know how this is possible… we can’t figure it out at all. We didn’t see any mages or alchemists manipulating the waterways like last time…”

Mitiel, the chief of staff, said, trembling.

It wasn’t because of the anger of Rasriel, the commander-in-chief.

The Dark Elves and other demons gathered here had all become demons by deeply embedding demonic stones in their Mana Hearts.

What they were trembling at was…

…the sight of the Western Demon King’s main camp defying common sense.

Even after a massive typhoon-level storm that lasted for three hours, the main camp was unharmed, not even slightly flooded.

It wasn’t like they had been standing still either.

Learning from the failure to submerge the Western Demon King’s army in the first battle.

They had set up a plan to thoroughly snipe any mages or alchemists who tried to change the waterways.

But there was no such movement.

The fact that the Western Demon King’s unit controlling the waterways wasn’t visible, yet this was happening, made them even more panicked.

    And that wasn’t all.

“Reports are coming in from the scouts! Knights of the Western Demon King’s army have appeared in large numbers on the outermost defense line.”

    “Fucking…”

Rasriel’s fist, clenched in anger, trembled.

But this wasn’t the time to be standing around blankly.

The Western Demon King’s army was strong.

Once, she was a member of the Royal Knights.

As a master-level swordswoman whose skills were recognized along with Remiella, she couldn’t ignore the charging demon knights.

“Form a formation centered around the dragon-type monsters! And the demons should synchronize with the Type 1 monsters to control them! We have a much stronger force! There’s no need to panic just because they’re coming!”

She quickly sorted out the situation.

The commanders who received her orders hurriedly left the barracks.

    Rasriel bit her sharp nails.

‘I don’t know what kind of trick they used… but this isn’t enough. I’ve created an Imperial-grade nest using Aquarite’s Dragon Heart. I can handle them well enough.’

And she gave a bitter smile.

As long as Aquarite was there, the victory was still on her side.

Even though that bastard Yulian was a master-level powerhouse.

And she had heard that he had dragon’s blood, but even if she highly valued his skills and thought of him as an Ancient Dragon, there was nothing to fear.

‘Aquarite was famous for being strong even among Ancient Dragons.’

The monsters directly connected to that Ancient Dragon. The large-scale monsters that followed her.

    Uuuuuuuuuung-

And Rasriel was directly controlling Aquarite.

She could feel the massive demonic magic power rushing into her Mana Heart.

“Haa… haa… The power of the great Knoia is with me… Haa… Yulanes-nim appointed me as the commander-in-chief here… I will definitely bring victory!”

    A little later.

Rasriel also joined the battle directly.

But even there, Rasriel witnessed an unbelievable sight once again.

    “Everything happened as Master said!”

    General Aitekia shouted loudly.

And the High Knights around him were surprised by the sight.

Aitekia, the white-haired man who always wore a cold expression.

The White Dragon was now excited, his face flushed.

“The General reacting so vehemently is a first even for me, who has known him for quite some time.”

And Krien, who was in charge of the Shield of Coldness unit, quietly said to me.

He was acting as my closest aide in this second battle.

As a subordinate favored by my father, his swordsmanship was outstanding.

    ‘And that Aitekia too.’

There was a reason he was called the strongest of the Royal Knights.

Just a moment ago, he had personally slaughtered dozens of high-ranking monsters among the monster army and returned to me.

Of course, I had slaughtered over a hundred monsters in the vanguard battle a few days ago. But his skills were by no means lacking.

‘No. Even in the entire Island, he’s one of the top 15 powerhouses.’

And the gazes of those powerhouses among the Royal Knights were directed at me.

    I shouted.

“I’ve kept my promise to you, haven’t I?”

    They all bowed their heads.

The Western Demon King’s army. Especially the 500 elites gathered around the Royal Knights.

Those brave Royal Knight knights. Even the High Knights still couldn’t forget the nightmare of a few days ago.

The scene of their comrades being swept away by the overflowing water and becoming water ghosts.

So, when it started raining again in the canyon. They couldn’t help but be afraid.

Before I charged them into Aquarite’s nest, a death trap, I reassured everyone.

    • Yunir’s blessing is with me. Aquarite’s storm will not stop me at all!

That was the promise I made to the elites.

And I looked at Aitekia for a moment.

He seemed to be using the Dragonkin’s excellent eyesight to check the Western Demon King’s main camp below.

“The main camp is safe! The Western Demon King’s army’s forces are also intact!”

    The knights cheered in unison.

It was still raining so heavily that their whole bodies were soaked. But there was no great flood like before.

“Some water is overflowing… but it doesn’t seem to be a problem for the advance at all.”

    Krien said.

And at his words, I sent a message of gratitude to my lovers in my heart.

    ‘Everyone worked so hard.’

They had been so busy for the past few days that they had been working overnight.

Of course, the work they had been doing was controlling the waterways of the canyon that would flood again.

But they couldn’t use the same method as last time.

‘If I openly build dams or waterways to change the flow of water. My lovers are in danger of being sniped.’

They weren’t just a legion of simple monsters.

According to Remiella and the staff, the Dark Elf tribes had joined the monster army.

Plutia’s Apostle was said to be the queen of the Dark Elves.

Among them, there were quite a few Royal Knights. The commander-in-chief leading Aquarite’s monster army was said to be Remiella’s Royal Knight colleague.

So, I had many conversations with my lovers.

The conclusion that came from that conversation was. If we couldn’t control the flow of water above ground.

    Let’s control the water underground.

‘I created a huge underground waterway.’

That was a huge civil engineering project, not just a simple construction.

It wasn’t just digging in a small area.

But my lovers, in cooperation with the Western Demon King’s mages and alchemists, accomplished that feat.

‘Time was running out. But fortunately, it was possible.’

Aylin and Cecilia designed the underground waterway.

And Rosette and Chloe led the specific work. And that wasn’t all.

    ‘Even Lumi helped me.’

Lumi had settled in Ciertia with Erti.

Ice crystals and the spirit of snow. Lumi helped the underground waterway work more smoothly with her great power as a Spirit King.

She instantly froze the dangerous areas of the ground. Creating a tremendous synergy with Rosette and Chloe.

The underground waterway was only going to be used once. So, the work progressed rapidly.

And finally, the underground waterway neutralized Aquarite’s storm.

“It really seems like the goddess’s blessing is with Master! This is… a miracle! Master even directly controlled that storm!”

And the detailed story was only known to Remiella and Aitekia. And a few staff members who helped with the work.

“His Highness Yulian has created a miracle!”

    “Lord Yulian! Lord Yulian!”

The morale of the elites who were advancing increased even more.

This was my aim. They were mistaking the neutralization of this storm as a miracle I had created myself.

Of course, I led the plan. So, it wasn’t all a lie.

    ‘Anyway, it’s as I thought.’

    I promised the knights safety.

And they were really safe even in this storm. But they didn’t know the truth of how it happened.

So, it would seem like a miracle I had created.

‘Well… even if I became an Ancient Dragon, I can’t change the climate unless I’m a Blue Dragon like Aquarite.’

Still, what’s important is their morale and faith.

My Reverse Scale was heating up.

The knights’ reverence for me was creating a large amount of demonic energy all at once. That demonic energy was gathering in the Reverse Scale.

And I sensed that the time had come.

‘I haven’t been able to return to being an Ancient Dragon since the last Dragonification because I lacked demonic energy.’

The current 8th Circle is still incomplete.

I had accomplished something that would have been impossible even in hundreds of years in less than a year.

That was inevitable since I was a creation of God.

So, I replenished the great demonic energy that approached the realm of God in various ways.

From the Archduke of Hell. Or from the demonic energy left by Yunir. I transcended the limits of humanity with the divinity passed down from that transcendent being.

    But now it was different.

As Yunir had declared to me directly.

I was now becoming a true Apostle of God.

Beyond simple reverence for a ruler. When their faith changes to faith in me.

The great power of domination that is entirely directed at me. Demonic energy is newly formed.

That is not the power passed down from Yunir. Because it is faith in me, the rate of demonic energy accumulation is much higher.

Because it is demonic energy that can create infinite possibilities in response to my will.

‘Then it’s time to start something again.’

The underground waterway is a temporary measure.

If the monster army ignores Aquarite’s demonic magic power consumption and pours more rain for days.

The area will inevitably flood again.

Then, we must make this momentarily created opportunity a perfect opportunity for a counterattack.

    I raised Ciertia and shouted.

“I promise you once again! You will have my, Yulian’s, protection. As an Apostle of the Goddess, I swear! The Royal Knights gathered here will create a breakthrough for the counterattack with me! Prepare to charge towards the enemy lines!”

The Royal Knights’ eyes changed at those words.

A wave attack towards the enemy lines.

If we could quickly and surely break through the path to the enemy’s main camp, the monster’s nest, with 500 elites.

We could gain a clear victory in this battle in the canyon.

    “We will follow Master’s orders!”

They shouted in unison. And I responded to their cheers.

“I will break through that path first.”

    Uuuuuuuuuung-

Ciertia left my hand and resonated in the air.

I felt the massive demonic energy rapidly engulfing the Dragon Heart.

The 8th Circle Dragon Heart. All the meridians were filled with demonic energy at once.

At the same time, a huge flash of light enveloped me.

    Geooooooo-

I transformed into an Ancient Dragon and flew up in front of the knights.
