11 – Yeongju System
by Afuhfuihgs
Amel sent the children away and met the Beast-Humans with Leki.
Well, it was a simple story.
She said she would strike Perstun and rescue the Beast-Humans.
“How can we believe those words?”
The tiger Beast-Human, the leader of the instigators, growled warily.
“It doesn’t matter whether you believe it or not. I’m going to strike Perstun anyway, even without your help. I’m just saving the Beast-Humans as a bonus, so there’s nothing to thank me for. Whether you like me or not, why would I care about the thoughts of a mere Territory resident?”
“….”
Amel gathered the Beast-Humans and explained the situation, literally just to explain it.
They’d act faster than if they didn’t know. After rescuing the Beast-Humans, that is.
“My subordinates will be back soon.”
The distance was quite far, so it shouldn’t have reached, but [Electricity]’s assistance reached.
Through the Territory.
‘I need to expand the Territory even more.’
“The start is from then on. So you can keep resisting. Yes, you can. If you can handle the responsibility.”
If they resisted?
She would kill them.
It was better to suppress the riot now than to have them riot after the departure.
“Perstun is a Human force. Are you turning your back on Humans to save Beast-Humans?”
“So?”
“I like that! That’s how it should be! You… Keuk…!!”
“I don’t like it.”
Makia kicked the tiger Beast-Human, sending him tumbling backward.
“Do you even know who is standing before you? She is your new king and holds the power of life and death over you. Watch your words.”
“Keuk… Keuheuhe.”
The tiger Beast-Human got back on his feet.
“Yes, that’s right. If you’re going to take on the role of king, I have no complaints. The Bear King has only seen our safety as emergency rations. Though I doubt you’ll be any different…”
He knelt and lowered his head.
“If you protect the village, I will acknowledge you as my king. Punish the Humans who kidnap us and do dirty things. King, I beg you.”
He wasn’t as good a king as she thought.
Amel’s gaze turned to the outside of the village.
There lay the corpse of a bear larger than the village. The Beast-Humans were struggling to dismantle the Loomber’s corpse.
“However.”
The tiger Beast-Human added.
“I also owe a debt to the Bear King. Therefore, please give me one chance.”
“What chance?”
“A chance to avenge the one who killed the Bear King.”
The tiger Beast-Human’s gaze turned to Makia, who was standing right in front of him.
“Give me a chance to repay the favor.”
“Even though there’s no chance of winning?”
“I’ve bet my life on it.”
He was quite determined.
She liked that.
If he were a bastard, she would have kept him close, but she was disgusted by the thought of keeping a male with only a piece of cloth around his lower body.
“What are you going to do?”
“I like him. May I speak?”
“Do as you wish.”
Makia asked the tiger Beast-Human.
“If I win, you come under me. I’ll put you to good use.”
“You, a half-pint like you, can only make me submit by killing me.”
Growl.
It seemed like they would get along well.
The tiger Beast-Human strongly expressed his will, but the fight started and ended unilaterally.
Makia beat the tiger Beast-Human with her bare hands, and the tiger Beast-Human seemed intent on continuing as long as he didn’t lose consciousness, but eventually fainted.
It was Makia’s unilateral victory.
“Makia.”
“Yes.”
“It’s fine to raise him, but try not to let him be seen in front of me.”
“I will.”
And a few hours later.
The Blade Wolf was caught.
Amel, having finished her business in the village, checked the emotional states of others through the [Territory System] and went to the village where the Blade Wolf was caught.
There, Makia looked at the Blade Wolf with a wistful expression.
“It’s become hideous.”
“Is it someone you know?”
“It was my child.”
“….”
“To be more specific, it would be a descendant of the adopted son I took in. I have no intention of allowing my body to anyone who is not stronger than me.”
“So you’ve been a spinster all this time?”
“You could say it’s my pride.”
She was teasing her, but she seemed to like it. Thinking about it differently, it was proof that she hadn’t lost to anyone, so was it worth it?
And a terrible thought came to mind.
‘Could it be that if I lose to a man stronger than me, I’ll be raped?’
It started as a lighthearted thought, but its impact was terribly great. Her whole body trembled as if electrocuted.
The aftereffects of the furry were still not gone, and she felt nauseous again.
‘This won’t do.’
I need to erase it quickly.
It was a shame that bastards wouldn’t be born, but if the reality was a terrible breeding ground, it was right to erase it from this world.
The Perstun Territory was a living corpse from today.
“Leki.”
“Yes.”
“Some alcohol.”
“Here you go.”
“…I think I need to drink, is that okay?”
Makia nodded as if she understood the intention.
After the fight ended, Polia, Leila, and Molly brought the Human prisoners.
“H-Hey, where are you taking us!”
“We’re the same Humans! Why!”
“Hee… I didn’t hear anything about this…!”
They dragged the Human prisoners and forced them to kneel.
The Human prisoners all held their breath when they found Amel.
The rotten eyes of a beautiful woman looking at trash had the power to seize one’s heart.
“So you’re the Bestiality freaks. How dare you set your dirty feet in my Territory.”
“T-Territory, you say? We’re sorry for coming in without permission! W-We’ll never come in again, so please have mercy!!”
“O, Bear King, please…!”
“Please have mercy…!”
Bear King.
Did they not know he was dead?
“You seem to be mistaken, but have them take revenge on the Beast-Humans and gather information. We don’t need Perstun’s weaknesses. Find out how many Beast-Humans were captured, where they were taken, and everything about the parties who traded bastards.”
The Human prisoners probably didn’t have that much information.
But even a little clue would do.
If they followed that clue, they would reach the end. If it was cut off by tail-cutting? That didn’t matter either. They just had to smash everything.
Rooting it out from the beginning wasn’t the goal, and she didn’t have such a deep grudge as to waste time on such a thing.
It was just like cockroaches.
The Human prisoners were taken away by the resentful hands of the Beast-Humans.
“Let’s go.”
To Perstun.
Perstun’s soldiers built a camp about half a day’s distance from the Beast-Human village.
“Isn’t it great that we passed that monster on to the Beast-Human bastards?”
The captain in the camp boasted about how his plan was.
The surrounding officers flattered the captain.
The camp was noisy.
The soldiers were catching the Beast-Humans who had scattered when the monster wolf attacked, and were relieving their tired minds and bodies.
Women for the males, men for the females.
The captain didn’t know what was so good about it, but if the soldiers’ stress was relieved, he had to condone it to be considered a captain.
The soldiers under his command were made up of slaves, and almost everyone in Perstun was a slave.
“Hiaaak!!!”
“…Tell them to keep it down. The Beast-Humans may be quiet, but this is enemy territory.”
“Understood.”
Just as one of the officers was about to go out and scold the soldiers.
“Heuaak!!”
As soon as he left the tent, he screamed and collapsed.
The captain and officers realized that something was wrong.
“Is it an attack?!”
They went out.
Armed.
But silence had already fallen on the camp, and it was deserted.
As if there was no one there. But the sound of breathing created a presence.
Turning their gaze to the sound of breathing, there was a soldier crawling on the ground. Someone appeared next to the soldier and finished him off with a sword.
It was the enemy.
A blonde woman asked.
“Are you the captain?”
“Y-Yes, I am. Who are you?”
“Polia.”
Polia?
“You seem to be Human, b-but we came here because of the Beast-Humans. I don’t know who you are, but if we’ve caused any trouble, I apologize.”
“We came to help those Beast-Humans.”
It was a real enemy.
A green-haired and a blue-haired woman appeared next to Polia.
“You’ll have to be captured quietly. We need you to be active.”
“Can we finish this before Amel-nim steps in herself?”
“Conquering a city is really unrealistic. Haha.”
While Polia and Leila were chattering, Molly knocked the captain and officers unconscious.
“But we have to. Amel-nim is watching over us, and we have to show her something in return.”
“It seems like Amel-nim is just trying to get us to do chores.”
“That’s why we have to work hard!”
“Realistically, even if we’re expert-level, city conquest is impossible.”
“That’s why we’re capturing them and interrogating them. Just trust me! I’ll find out the city’s weaknesses and open the gates!”
“If it was that easy to break through, why would there be walls in the first place? Do you even know why you’re targeting the city?”
“…To make the city Amel-nim’s?”
Leila nodded.
“That’s right. But we don’t have to fight the city.”
“Then?”
“How strong of a person can we… the three of us, defeat if we combine our strength?”
“I don’t know? Can’t we even take on a Master?”
Polia said jokingly.
“I’m asking seriously. I want to be recognized as useful to Amel-nim. But to be recognized, we have to at least be able to capture the Perstun Lord with our own hands.”
“The Lord? With our own hands?”
“I predict… you’ve noticed it too, but… you know Makia-nim’s identity, right?”
“Why does Makia-nim’s identity matter? She’s a Lesser Kobold, right?”
“Of course not.”
“Guardian Deity.”
Molly answered.
“Wolf King.”
“…What? Is she right?”
“Probably. Highly likely. She doesn’t seem to care about being caught, but Amel-nim seems to have recruited her. There was thunder the day before she came. And Amel-nim’s ability is lightning. Doesn’t that sound like a perfect match?”
“…I’m not good at that kind of thing.”
Polia was just a village girl.
She had only learned things like bride training.
Unlike Leila, who was being considered as a candidate for Village Chief.
“Anyway, our position will be further reduced with the appearance of Makia-nim. Makia-nim alone even caught the Bear King. Could the three of us have caught the Bear King even if we teamed up?”
“….”
“Impossible.”
“That’s right. Impossible. So we have to show that we can do things like this. To the point where Makia-nim doesn’t have to step in. We have to be more active than Amel-nim thinks.”
And that activity was the capture of the Perstun Lord.
As the three of them put their heads together and made a plan, the Beast-Humans who had decided to help them belatedly chased after them, but it was already over.
The Beast-Humans destroyed the camp built by the Perstun Territory army and plundered supplies.
