Chapter 129.1
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 129 – Henceforth, the Leader Adheres to All Rules (2)
There was a mountain of work piling up.
Oh Baek-seo, the Vice Leader of the Ahsung High Disciplinary Committee, was unusually focused on processing paperwork. Ha Yesong, Park Minhyuk, and Yoo Doha were all in the same boat.
“Ughhh…!”
Yesong trembled with frustration.
Finally.
“Haaah!!”
She snapped.
Everyone’s eyes, except for Baek-seo’s, turned toward Yesong.
“There’s too much work!! Ugh!! Freedom, come to me!!”
Yesong ran to the window, opened it, and yelled at the top of her lungs.
Minhyuk, sporting dark circles under his eyes, glanced at her with a disdainful look.
“Sit down. We have work to do…. We’ve been busy with this and that, so there’s nothing we can do.”
“Park Minhyuk!! Doesn’t this feel wrong to you!? I’ve been busy enough! And midterms are coming soon! I want to watch dramas! I want to play games!!”
“Sigh….”
Minhyuk let out a deep breath.
“Just deal with it. The Leader isn’t here, so what else can we do?”
Doha shot Yesong a sharp look as he spoke.
“The Leader has a meeting with Hanyang at this time! It’s totally planned, isn’t it!?”
“He’s with the President discussing important issues…. The Leader’s influence has grown immensely. His spatial abilities have strengthened so much that he’s the only one who can access the cities blessed by the Golden Ram. He’s practically required to participate in the Human Restoration Project. And it’s a meeting with the Student Council President; how could you think of that as running away? Your imagination is impressive.”
“Just sympathize with me, Minhyuk….”
Yesong sulked as she reluctantly returned to her seat to resume her work.
“By the way, Baek-seo.”
“Hmm?”
Baek-seo responded without turning her head.
“The new mileage points were distributed, right? Did you request weapon manufacturing from the workshop?”
“Yes, I went with the same as last time, Hyunwoondo Sword.”
“Oh, I see. But our dear Baek-seo, who might have gone with you this time? Hmm? Hmmm?”
Yesong grinned mischievously, her tone suggestive.
She had gone to New Yongsan Street over the weekend to use the mileage she earned as compensation from the Academy Great War.
And there, she saw Baek-seo.
With Woo-jin, no less.
Yesong had gleefully snapped a photo, thinking she had caught a juicy piece of gossip.
‘Go ahead and deny it! I have evidence! Today, I will finally succeed in teasing Baek-seo!’
Yesong braced herself, but—
“I went with the Leader.”
“…!”
Baek-seo’s calm and straightforward response left Yesong in shock.
She hadn’t expected her to admit it so easily.
Even Minhyuk and Doha turned to look at Baek-seo in surprise.
Sensing something big was about to happen, Yesong subtly tried to block Baek-seo’s escape route.
“The Leader’s weapons were all destroyed, right? So you went to make new ones? Together?”
Woo-jin had lost both the Iron Dragon Staff and the Lightning Rod in his battle against Goliath. They had been completely broken.
“That’s true, but haven’t you all noticed?”
Baek-seo, puzzled by her teammates’ dramatic reactions, casually dropped a bombshell.
“I’m dating the Leader.”
An ensuing silence.
“……!”
Yesong’s face went through shock, then turned pale.
Doha was left stunned.
And Minhyuk was the first to break the silence.
“Oh my god….”
Baek-seo observed their faces and chuckled softly.
***
Ahn Woo-jin and Han Baek-hyun, the Student Council President of Ahsung High, were seated in the back of the student council vehicle.
It was evening.
They were on their way back after finishing a meeting at the Hanyang Federal Academy.
Woo-jin stared blankly out the window, prompting Baek-hyun to ask curiously.
“Ahn Woo-jin, something bothering you?”
“Huh?”
“You’ve been down lately. Even today. Or maybe ‘down’ isn’t the right word… you seem more emotionless than usual.”
“It’s nothing major.”
“Really?”
Baek-hyun studied Woo-jin’s face.
“…Why are you staring at me like that?”
“I’m wondering if it’s okay for me to treat Neo Seoul’s strongest like this.”
“I have no intention of going against society. Please address me according to my position.”
“No, that’s not it.”
Baek-hyun smiled slyly and pointed his index finger upward.
“Don’t you want to aim higher? To match your status as the strongest. If we combine my position with yours, there’s nothing we couldn’t do in this city.”
“Hmm….”
Woo-jin smirked and turned back to the window.
“I’ll think about it.”
“Man, look at you playing it cool….”
Though the great battle had ended, Woo-jin had found himself with a new concern.
Woo-jin gently touched the Disciplinary Committee Leader armband on his left arm.
‘The reason I became the Disciplinary Committee Leader….’
The reason Woo-jin had to become the Leader of Ahsung High’s Disciplinary Committee was now gone.
