The reason for practicing magic was simple.

To protect oneself from future dangers.

When I searched for adventuring magicians, a few posts came up, but not that many.

With hopeful expectations, I cautiously opened the door of the adventurer guild.

Upon opening the door, I saw a tall man holding a menacing-looking sword.

There was also a dwarf holding an axe that seemed about 140cm tall.

And a woman diligently polishing a dagger.

Seeing these people, I felt a sense of tension.

It felt like I was truly becoming an adventurer.

Thinking that to myself, before approaching the group, I first approached Esilly and asked cautiously.

“Are these the new recruits for this time?”

“Yes, they are the new recruits for this time.”

Surprisingly, Esilly wasn’t dozing off today.

Feeling amazed, I greeted Esilly and then turned back.

I greeted the people gathered there.

“Hello, I’m Eugene, joining the orc extermination party this time.”

As I greeted them politely, the dwarf who had been sitting quietly drinking beer looked at me and spoke.

“Are you the magician?”

“Yes, I am Eugene, the magician joining this time.”

“Hmph, not as dirty-minded as most magicians.”

“Thank you. By the way, should we introduce ourselves?”

Since it seemed like no one else would speak up among the people here, I decided to speak up first.

It couldn’t be helped.

If no one spoke up in this situation, things would get awkward.

So, I introduced myself again.

“My age is… a secret, and my name is Eugene. I can handle lightning and fire magic. I can also manage other elemental magics to some extent, but lightning and fire are my specialties.”

Although I said lightning and fire were my specialties, in reality, I didn’t have a specific specialty.

I thought I could handle all elemental magics at an advanced level.

But saying that might not be believable, so I added this setting.

I heard that most mages struggle to memorize two elemental magics, after all.

After I said that, the rough-looking man yawned and spoke.

“My name is Theron. I mainly use swords and shields.”

“My name is Dontas, as you can see, I’m a dwarf. I mainly use axes.”

His name was Dontas.

If he had been born in Korea, his nickname would probably have been Donkatsu.

As I had these unnecessary thoughts, Theron took the lead in leading the conversation.

That was good.

I personally didn’t have much talent for leading others.

“Well then, let’s prepare like this and meet again around lunchtime.”

“Okay.”

“Got it.”

“Understood.”

The four of us weren’t close yet.

So, it felt a bit awkward.

But since we were only going to see each other this one time, it was okay not to be too close.

With that thought in mind, we parted ways for a while.

I felt like I should learn space magic quickly.

To do that, I need to quickly gather money through adventurer work.

After getting distracted for a while, I checked the time around lunch and headed back to the adventurer guild.
