Gilbert Brown is a commoner.

Gilbert himself has never felt inferior or dissatisfied about it, but the problem is that his father does not.

The phrase he always says is, ‘We’re doing so well, so why don’t you accept us as a member of a lower-class noble family?’

They are literally a family that has succeeded in business to the point of being called a vassal, and they have enough wealth to be able to control and shake up one or two territories as they please─ but in the end, they are just rich commoners, so the reality is that they cannot properly stand shoulder to shoulder with the real 10 families, let alone the subordinate families of those 10 families.

Of course, whenever Gilbert saw his father’s hysteria, he would think things like, ‘Isn’t this kind of commoner side of him unbecoming of a nobleman?’ or ‘Isn’t it simply a matter of magical power?’, but he had the presence of mind to keep those thoughts from being said out loud.

Gilbert also had no room for such unproductive work. All he had to do was work for women. For him, who had decided to become a knight for all women, the only thing that mattered was the safety of women.

Some may wonder why such a seemingly objective and intelligent boy came to have such a stupid, stupid, and absurd goal. The reason lies not with Gilbert himself, but with his older sisters.

Gilbert has five older sisters who are quite a bit older than him. Even the oldest sister is eight years older than him. If you consider him the eldest daughter, the age difference is so big that he could almost be considered a son.

Also, Gilbert was smart and grew up well-behaved since he was young, never causing trouble, never doing what he was told not to do, and doing what he was told to do. He was a good boy just like the picture. In addition, he was very cute because he looked cute. So, his older sisters who were much older than him couldn’t help but like Gilbert.

Gilbert, who had grown up that way for years, had enjoyed laughing together as his cute little brother imitated knights, had acted cute by asking him to do this and that, and had been spoon-fed various ways to naturally receive escorts without being asked. As a result, his way of thinking had completely changed.

Of course, my sisters weren’t stupid either, so they thought maybe they were going too far. They just thought that if they went to the academy, felt reality, and got along with other people, they would naturally change. There were quite a few cases when I was young where things were out of the ordinary, but when I got involved with friends, I was influenced by them and became ordinary.

However, what the older sisters overlooked was that Gilbert was smart but seriously stupid. It would be normal to feel that there was something strange about him when other people didn’t act that way, but it’s understandable to think that way. While making judgments that respected other people’s values, he didn’t realize at all that his own thoughts and actions were a little strange.

If the older sisters knew that their beloved older sisters had a deep-rooted trust that their education could never be wrong, they would be happy, but at the same time, they would also be worried, wondering if it would really be okay for their younger siblings to grow up the way they do? Shouldn’t they be correcting things from the root right now?

Anyway, Gilbert was walking around the academy grounds today as if he was taking a stroll. He had recently come to the academy to enroll and was a bit overwhelmed by the scale of the academy. Aside from his aim to become a knight, he had a solid business sense that he inherited from his father, and he could see a huge flow of money centered around the academy.

The Academy has over a hundred students in each grade. There are four grades like that. That alone would be a pretty big crowd, but the Academy is not just about students. There are also teachers who teach them, employees who manage the building and facilities, and shops that have been created in one corner by people who smell money like Gilbert himself. Most of them are restaurants.

There were also stores that targeted the wallets of students who were tired of classes and competition, and there were many bars that were clearly for the faculty. Gilbert’s mouth watered as he looked at those stores that would never stop attracting customers as long as the academy existed. What if he could get a foothold in that huge commercial district? Even if the academy’s own business was difficult, if they could monopolize and distribute the products in that shopping district, and furthermore, if they could obtain all the rights to that shopping district, wouldn’t that be a huge profit?

Also, apart from thinking about such occupational diseases, because the site was just so large, I had to memorize where everything was with my feet, not my head, so I was slowly going around once or twice. Since I never knew when or where the women would be in danger, I needed to know the location properly in order to run quickly in case of an emergency.

Then, Gilbert’s eyes briefly flashed with a dazzling light. What kind of light was this? When Gilbert was young, he was amazed by a magical tool that emitted light, and when it was activated right before his eyes, he was incredibly surprised. However, the light that struck his eyes at that time was also very dazzling, but compared to the current light, he thought it was like a firefly.

Startled, he covered the place where the light was spreading with his hand. But─ something was strange. The other people walking along the street didn’t react at all, as if there had been no light at all. So, was it his imagination? Bewildered, Gilbert slowly lowered his hand. Where the light had been radiating from─ there was only a woman walking with a long-haired man.

Beautiful. Gilbert muttered absentmindedly. Her brilliant blond hair, as if melted by sunlight, sparkled dazzlingly, and even though she was wearing simple, ordinary attire, she looked like she had come from a ball. Also… the mask covering half of her face would have been strange, but it actually added to her mysteriousness.

Gilbert approached her as if possessed, knelt before her and said.

“I want to be your article.”

    “No need.”

As the woman who had answered sharply tried to pass by, Gilbert unconsciously reached out to the woman’s wrist. It would have been impossible for Gilbert to do such a reckless thing to a woman, but was it because he was in such a hurry? However, the situation that occurred after he reached out was something that Gilbert could not understand.

Gilbert had no time to feel guilty for carelessly touching a woman’s body, but in that moment, his world spun around and he felt a sharp pain in his back. He felt like all the air in his lungs had been expelled, and he couldn’t breathe properly. The woman he had seen earlier was nowhere to be found, and all he could see before his eyes was a bright blue sky. The only question Gilbert had was, “What on earth happened?”

    .

    .

    .

    It’s ruined.

At that moment, he tried to grab my wrist, so I reflexively used my magic power to attack him.

This magic lifting technique is a technique I named, but it’s a little embarrassing to tell others. It’s a technique I was used to so much during the self-defense class in hell that it’s literally a lifting technique using magic power. I said it wasn’t a technique that deserved a name, so I personally call it this.

All living things have magic power, and when the body and mind move, the magic power moves accordingly. This is a technique that reads the movement of that magic power and guides it with my magic power to make the body move as I want. It’s called carrying, but in reality, it just makes them fall over or sit down without strength… The ways to use it are endless, so if the opponent doesn’t know how to resist, you can play with them like a doll.

I felt the eyes of the people around me gathering as I flashily threw a person in the middle of the street in broad daylight. The crowd that had gathered around me was muttering, “What is that? Are you a wizard? You’re fighting in the middle of the street…” and Yu Gram was also looking at me with eyes filled with emotion, wondering what I had done.

    ..let’s run away.

“I have no intention of accepting someone I don’t know as a knight.. Please don’t touch my body without permission. Well then, that’s all.”

After finishing his words quickly, he ran away at a very fast pace. The crowd that had gathered around me parted and made way for me as I approached, so it seemed like they had judged me to be a dangerous guy. And of course, most of them were wearing academy uniforms. I guess I was a little bit ruined.

No. If I think positively, if this gets out into the news, wouldn’t those random people like me stop coming at me to try to do something to me?

With that thought in mind, I walked towards my lodgings, trying hard to ignore Yugram, who was giving me a fierce gaze that seemed like it would burn a hole in my back.
