-Wow!
“Is this the yeti’s cry?”
“Hmm. I think it’s a courtship cry for a female yeti?”
“Courtshipping cries?”
“I don’t know either. Dragons have similar courtship calls, so maybe they’re in heat.”
Chris turned his gaze towards the snow-capped mountains in the distance.
“I want a Yeti as my companion, but I guess it’s impossible to go all the way to that mountain right now?”
“I guess it’s impossible since we haven’t even set up a proper base yet. Let’s go to the research base first. The Yeti isn’t running away, so we can take our time looking for it.”
“That’s right, my lord. If you stay out in the cold for too long, there’s a risk of frostbite. As Ray said, let’s head to the research base first.”
Chris decided that it would be unreasonable to go out to find the Yeti with his backpack full of things to set up a tent.
‘There’s still plenty of time. Another opportunity will come.’
Chris decided to head to the research base first.
Chris and his group hike hard to find a research base located halfway up a mountain.
Although it was sub-zero weather, climbing the steep snow-covered mountain was no easy task.
I was sweating profusely and it was hot because the winter clothes were thick.
‘When on earth is the research base coming out?’
At the academy, Professor Berriol handed out a map with the approximate location of the research base.
But the map was drawn too roughly, so it was too ambiguous to tell where I was.
“Wait a minute… You’re not lost, are you?”
Chris gets anxious.
“Don’t worry. I’m going well. I knew this would happen, so I brought several compasses. ”
Lily showed me the compass.
“This is north, so the general direction should be correct. Let’s try a little harder and go.”
It was indeed Super Maid Lily.
Chris followed his trustworthy Lily.
As Lily said, soon after, a wooden rest area-like building appeared about 500 meters ahead.
“Is that research effort?”
Despite its grand name of a research base, it just looked like a shabby shack.
However, the site consisted of a fairly large, flat piece of land.
There were signs that several cadets had been considerate enough to set up tents around the area.
-Wheww.
Suddenly the wind blew strongly.
The blizzard was blowing so hard that it was becoming difficult to see the ground.
“Let’s go to the research base quickly.”
Chris and his group quickened their pace.
Chris and his group entered the research base (hut).
Even though it was daytime, it was quite dark outside because a heavy snowstorm was raging.
There happened to be a candle next to the door, and there were also matches and two extra cans of kerosene on hand.
When we lit the candles, the inside of the cabin became bright.
The inside of the cabin felt well-maintained.
There was plenty of firewood in the fireplace in the center, and there was no dust on the carpet on the floor.
“Thank you for your hard work. Which class are you from?”
A middle-aged female professor came out from inside and greeted Chris and his group.
He had the impression of being fat and kind-hearted.
“I’m Chris Delun from the Blue Dragon. This is my maid Lily and my summoner Ray.”
“Hello. You’re the hottest Chris these days, right? I’m Miranda Cassidy, the professor in charge of the Red Lion class.”
Lily and Ray also greeted Professor Miranda.
“I am here as a supervisor at the research base to make sure you are doing your job properly. Normally, you should pitch a tent and camp outside the research base, but the blizzard is so bad, so please stay here until the blizzard clears up.”
“Thank you, Professor.”
It was fortunate that the professor was more communicative than I thought. If he had been like Professor Berriol, the homeroom teacher of the Blue Mae class, he would have sent the students outside into the snowstorm, telling them to follow the rules.
Eventually, we ended up spending the first night in a cabin.
As evening approached, other cadets from the Blue Hawk class also arrived at the research base one by one.
Among them were Sean and Riel Hayes.
When Riel Hayes met Chris’ eyes, she nodded slightly, as if slightly embarrassed, and left.
“Chris, are you ready for camping?”
Sean asked, sitting down on the couch next to Chris.
“I know Lily will take care of it.”
“Ah~ It would be nice to have Lily. Our butler forgot one of the tent poles, so I don’t know if we can pitch the tent properly.”
Sean took a deep breath.
The butler who followed Sean lowered his head as if he was ashamed.
“Which monster do you plan on researching first?”
“Well, I haven’t thought about everything yet, but I’ve decided on one monster.”
“Really? What kind of monster is it?”
“They say there’s a Yeti, a yeti-type monster. I’m going to look for that one first.”
Sean was surprised by Chris’s words.
“Hey, you’re aiming for the big one from the start. If it’s a Yeti, it’s the highest-ranking monster in this snowy mountain region.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I was planning to hunt and study a few monsters like snow rabbits and ice foxes. Well, with Chris and Ray’s skills, I wouldn’t be worried even if they hunted yetis.”
Because the cabin was not very large, the Blue Hawk cadets who arrived early slept huddled together in the living room in front of the fireplace.
The blizzard that had been raging so hard that it was impossible to see even an inch ahead gradually calmed down around dawn the next day.
The sun rose and when Chris went outside, the weather had cleared up as if the snowstorm had never happened.
“The weather has gotten better, so let’s go to the direction where we heard the yeti’s howl yesterday.”
Chris and his group wandered around the snowy mountains for a long time in search of the Yeti.
But the Yeti wasn’t easy to find.
“Where the hell are you?”
“It may not be easy to find it since it is a rare monster. There is plenty of time, so don’t rush if you can’t find it today.”
The moment Ray said that,
-Wooo!
A yeti’s howl was heard from the other side of the mountain.
“Huh? That’s a yeti’s cry!”
“I think it’s nearby. Let’s go there quickly.”
Chris and his group headed towards the direction where they could hear the Yeti’s cries.
After going down the snowy mountain for a while in the direction of the crying sound, I was able to find two ape-like monsters with fluffy white fur.
There were two yetis, a male and a female.
The male was standing on a high rock, beating his chest and making courtship calls.
The female, with soft fur and a chest as large as a watermelon, sat calmly, as if assessing the male’s specs, and watched his courtship singing show.
-Wow!
The yeti made a courting cry for a long time.
He even danced a courtship dance, wiggling his buttocks as if trying to attract the attention of the female.
But, unfortunately, the female turned her head away, seeming to lose interest.
Chris felt bad about interfering with the Yeti’s courtship, so he decided to wait a bit.
However, the female seemed not to find the male particularly attractive and left before the courtship performance was over.
-Wooo… .
The yeti showed off his singing skills one last time in an attempt to capture the female, but the female ignored him and walked away.
As the female left, the Yeti hung his head in apparent disappointment.
‘Even in the monster world, it’s hard to seduce women. That guy is a handsome man from the Yeti world.’
Chris was heartbroken as a fellow male Yeti.
“Ray, that guy doesn’t seem particularly hostile to us, but can you go and ask him if he wants to be your summon?”
I asked Ray, my dedicated Monster Language interpreter.
“Krrrr. Trust only this body.”
Ray approaches the Yeti.
-Huh?
The Yeti, who had been depressed from his failed courtship, seemed to have become somewhat interested in Chris and his group.
-Woohoohoo!
It seemed to be very curious, so it jumped around and circled around the humans, Chris and Lily.
“It seems strange to see a human for the first time.”
As Ray said, the Yeti circled around Chris’s body and sniffed around.
It was a very stressful situation because he could feel the Yeti’s hot breath, but Chris decided to endure it for a while because he had to summon the Yeti.
Fortunately, the Yeti soon lost interest in Chris and began to hover around Lily.
“Isn’t this ape really burdensome?”
Lily backed away from the yeti snorting at her neck and gave Chris a look that said, “What should I do?”
“Lily, just hold on a little longer. You have to get the Yeti to be your partner. ”
“If the master says so… .”
-Woo-hoo-hoo.
The Yeti hovered around, sniffing around, seeming to like Lily more than Chris.
Then Lily sniffed around as if she smelled something in the man’s crossbody bag.
“Oh, I smell apple pie.”
Lily was putting the apple pie she had baked for a snack into her bag.
Lily took the apple pie out of her bag and handed it to the Yeti.
“Try it once.”
-Okay!
The Yeti took a bite of the apple pie Lily handed him and jumped up and down as if it was delicious.
Then he held out his hand to Lily as if asking for more.
“I brought it as a snack, so there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Lily gave Yeti two more apple pies.
The yeti enjoyed the apple pie.
And then he continued to hover around Lily.
“It seems like Yeti likes Lily.”
“There’s no more apple pie.”
Ray was absolutely right.
Suddenly the Yeti lifted Lily up
“Huh?!”
“Lily?!”
Chris had no time to stop him.
The Yeti quickly carried Lily on his shoulders and started running away.
“Your Majesty!!”
Chris and Ray quickly began to chase after the Yeti that had kidnapped Lily.
