[Episode 53] – Sylvia’s Day (1)

The day after spending Lover’s Day with Lily, I didn’t move a single step on the bed. No, I couldn’t. My whole body ached as if it had been beaten, and my muscles were sore and my back was sore as if it was going to snap, so it was hard to even lie still. It’s something I always say every morning after sex, like scolding my children, but I wish they would take better care of my body.

Now, when I look at myself in the mirror after sex, I am no longer surprised, but now I think it is normal. The deep red marks left by the strong sucking on the nape of my neck and collarbone, and the teeth marks left by the hard biting on my shoulder were so vivid that some of them were red bruises.

Yes, when they get excited, they might bite, suck, and nip at people. Up to this point, I could understand. Now, I know that leaving marks on my body is a ‘habit’ of children. Up to this point, I could really understand children a hundred, a thousand times. But at least, shouldn’t they clean up after the relationship?

When I woke up in the morning, the first thing I saw was Lily, who was sleeping with my head tightly in her arms. As I looked at Lily, who was sleeping soundly with a pleasant expression on her face, holding me tightly, I couldn’t help but smile like a happy mother, but soon I frowned at the slippery sensation between my legs.

As I moved my legs in discomfort, there was a lot of half-dried love juice and saliva stuck between my legs that were overlapped with Lily’s. As I pulled my thigh out from between Lily’s legs, I heard a clear sound of love juice flowing out, and the cold love juice squelched and dripped down my skin, giving me goosebumps.

I pulled myself out of Lily’s arms, who was still asleep, and just stared at the miserable room with my mouth wide open. Two pairs of underwear were strewn far away in the corner of the room, and the blanket halfway spilled onto the floor. The pungent body odor and the strange smell of sex that spread throughout the room were still there, making my head hurt.

The smell was the worst of all, the sticky body and the half-wet blanket and bed sheets. The bed sheets I was lying on were soaked with saliva and love juice, and the parts that hadn’t dried yet were soaked with cold love juice, as if I had just peed. It was unbelievable that I had slept on these bed sheets.

Moreover, when I looked down at my body, it was even more spectacular. My whole body was sticky with traces of Lily licking, biting, and sucking, and my pubic hair soaked with love juice had dried and stuck to my skin. Furthermore, the love juice and saliva dried between my legs, so whenever I moved my legs, my flesh felt stiff and pulled, which felt strange.

My whole body was covered in saliva and love juice, and I was so uncomfortable that I could die. But as I watched Lily sleeping soundly next to me, as if she didn’t know anything, I couldn’t help but feel angry. Even if she wasn’t cleaning up her room, shouldn’t she at least clean up after herself? What should I do with this unfilial daughter who torments me like that and then sleeps happily without even wiping herself off?

I lifted the pillow over my head and slammed it down on Lily’s head, who was still sleeping without knowing anything. Thud! Thud! As I slammed the pillow down on Lily, Lily, who woke up from her sleep due to the sudden violence, flailed her arms and screamed. In the end, Lily, who was still half asleep, tried to avoid the pillows falling on her head and ended up rolling under the bed along with the blanket.

    “Ouch!”

Lily, who fell down from the bed with the blanket with a loud thud, looked up at me with a dumbfounded expression, probably still half asleep. She must be looking at me with such a dumbfounded expression because she wasn’t hurt. Seeing that dumbfounded expression made me feel sad again, so I threw my pillow at Lily, but Lily dodged the pillow lightly and looked up at me with an expression that said, “I really don’t know why I’m doing this.”

I shouted at Lily, who was staring blankly at me with a sleepy face.

“Get me some warm water and a towel right now! If you leave me like this again, I really won’t forgive you!! If you’re going to torment me like that, shouldn’t you at least wash my body?!”

    “Huh..?”

Lily, who was still making a foolish face and making foolish noises, stared at me intently, then finally came to her senses and opened her eyes wide. “I’m sorry! I’ll get it right away!” Lily got up in a hurry, picked up the clothes scattered on the floor, put them on, and ran out of the room. I couldn’t help but sigh as I watched her.

In that way, I spent the morning receiving the utmost care from Lily, and in the afternoon, I suffered from muscle and back pain until I could finally fall asleep after taking painkillers. After spending my holiday rolling around like that, time passed quickly, and the day I became Sylvia’s lover dawned.

When I opened my eyes early in the morning, I felt dizzy and my whole body ached because I had slept too much. I rubbed my eyes to open them, which were not opening well, and a person’s figure appeared in my half-asleep vision. Who would come into my room at this hour? I opened my eyes and checked who the person sitting on my bed was, and I couldn’t help but stare blankly at that face.

    “…? Sylvia..?”

“Yes, Mom. Did you sleep well?”

I blankly raised my head and looked up at Sylvia, who was looking down at me. Sylvia, who didn’t know when she had entered my room, swept my disheveled hair behind my ear with her fingertips, caressed my cheek, and smiled. When I looked at her questioningly, Sylvia said, “I just got here,” and gently stroked my hair to straighten it.

“I’m sorry for waking you up. I should have come a little later.”

“Don’t be sorry, I didn’t wake you up because of you.”

It wasn’t really because of Sylvia that I woke up. When I woke up, I didn’t even know that Sylvia was sitting on the bed. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. It was early morning, not long after dawn. I blankly looked up at Sylvia and asked her why she was here so early, but Sylvia answered shamelessly.

“It’s still early in the morning… You woke up early?”

    “I’m looking forward to it.”

    “I see…”

Yes, if you are looking forward to it, then there is nothing I can do. How much must you have been looking forward to come here at daybreak? Lily had already eaten breakfast and came too… I gave up halfway and got up, stretched my body, and looked at Sylvia with half-asleep eyes. When our eyes met, Sylvia narrowed her eyes and said with a soft smile.

“Please take care of me today, Mother.”

“…Okay, I’ll take care of it. Sylvia.”

    *

I certainly thought that Sylvia, like Lily, would rush to me from the morning, saying, “Let’s do something ‘lover’-like’.” But contrary to my expectations, Sylvia didn’t seem to want anything in particular. Contrary to the action that came as soon as the sun rose, what Sylvia wanted from me was an extremely ordinary ‘lover’-like act.

After finishing breakfast, I asked Sylvia what she wanted to do. Sylvia said, “Then… how about we spend some time reading a book and eating a snack together? I’ll bring some light reading books from the study and some snacks the chef left behind.” She quickly prepared herself and came back to my room.

“Don’t be so cautious, Mom. I don’t intend to force you to do anything like Lily. I’m happy just spending time with you. Reading books together, eating snacks together, and talking. How much more like a couple?”

    “That, really..?”

“Sob sob… Poor mother… How much must Lily have tormented her…”

“Puhhh, yeah. Lily really teased me.”

When I saw Sylvia pretending to sob, I couldn’t help but laugh. So we faced each other and started chatting and giggling. We spent time happily chatting about Catherine’s etiquette class that I didn’t attend, how the chef taught us easy and delicious recipes for snacks, and other trivial and trivial stories.

Was it because we chatted too happily? While having a pleasant conversation with Sylvia, I ended up bringing up a topic I hadn’t intended to talk about. I didn’t want to bring up the topic of ‘marriage’ in front of the kids, but I was so surprised by the words that came out of my mouth that I covered them with my hand.

“Hehe, actually, when my mom first said she would cook for me… She’s never cooked for me since we were little, right? I’ve never seen my mom in the kitchen…”

“Did you suspect this? It would be good to learn a few things like cooking. When you guys get married…um…”

    “…….”

Because of my slip of the tongue, a short, heavy silence flowed between Sylvia and me. I had tried not to bring up the topic of ‘marriage’ in front of the children, but I was afraid that if I brought it up in front of the children, I would be urging them to get married quickly, so I tried my best to keep my words to myself.

As I was struggling to figure out how to continue the conversation and what to say, Sylvia took a moment to catch her breath and looked at me with an expression that seemed to have made up her mind about something.

Sylvia’s lips were pursed as if she wanted to say something, but she couldn’t speak easily. Sylvia hesitated and couldn’t speak, but I waited calmly for her to open her mouth. After some time, Sylvia took a few deep breaths and finally opened her mouth.

“I…Mom…I have something to ask you.”

    “…Tell me.”

“…Mom, is it true that when we get married and leave home… you will remarry?”

    “…Huh?”

The moment I heard Sylvia’s question, my heart sank. How did Sylvia know this story? My heart started pounding like crazy. I thought Catherine had said it, but if Catherine had been planning to tell, she would have done it a long time ago. She wouldn’t have been the type to say it now. If she had been planning to tell, she would have said it confidently when she first met the children.

I glanced up and looked at Sylvia. I couldn’t help but sigh at the sight of her looking at me with an anxious and nervous expression. I don’t know how she realized it, but if Sylvia was asking me, it must mean that the other children all knew about my remarriage. Even if Sylvia was the only one who knew, it only took a moment for the story to reach the children’s ears.

I hadn’t told Catherine yet, but I thought I would accept her offer. The thought of my children leaving home and me being left alone in this large mansion made me feel anxious and uneasy, and I was going crazy. I was sure that I would accept Catherine’s offer and choose to become a concubine, if only to avoid being left alone.

Trisha’s memories are not much different from mine now, but honestly, I didn’t have the confidence to live alone. Now that I have my children by my side, I don’t show it, but I can’t beg them not to leave me for the rest of my life. They were going to leave me soon anyway.

So, I was left with no choice but to take Catherine’s offer.

I thought I knew what Sylvia was worried about. A nobleman’s remarriage could not find a normal partner. A first remarriage could somehow find a normal partner, but no noble would accept a widow’s second remarriage. I looked at Sylvia with a faint smile as if to tell her not to worry.

“…I guess that’s what’s going to happen. Don’t worry too much, he’s a good opponent. You won’t have anything to worry about.”

“Have you already decided on the other person..?”

“…Yeah, it’s already been decided. It’s really okay, so don’t worry about it.”

Judging from Sylvia’s reaction, it must have been Catherine who said that. There was nothing more I could say to Sylvia. I could only tell her not to worry too much, that I was fine, so she shouldn’t worry about it. I wasn’t uneasy about becoming a concubine, but I still thought it would be better to stay by Catherine’s side than to be left alone.

“….There’s also a way to rely on your family home..? If you don’t have enough money, you can sell this mansion… There’s no need for your mother to remarry… Mother, can you please think about it again..?”

Sylvia’s expression as she stopped me looked really urgent. Her face was dark and it seemed as if she was trying to stop me from remarrying. I shook my head slightly and repeatedly emphasized to Sylvia that she really didn’t have to worry, as she suggested other ways to stop me from remarrying.

Sylvia, who had lowered her head at my repeated rejections, let out a deep sigh and then lifted her head, lifting the corners of her mouth to smile. Of course, it was an awkward smile that was clearly forced, but I was glad that she seemed to have listened to my story. Sylvia let out a deep sigh as if giving up and looked at me with reddened eyes.

“Okay, Mother. If that’s what you want… I can’t help it.”

Sylvia, who had said that, coughed several times as if her throat was choked up, and looked at the teapot on the table. Sylvia reached for the teapot as if her stomach was burning, but the teapot was empty. She turned her head and looked at the teacup, but it was also empty.

“Colok, I’m going to make some tea… Would you like some too, Mom?”

    “…Okay, please.”

Sylvia, who had left the room for a moment, quickly brought back some warm tea. Sylvia told me to drink it while it was still warm, and filled my empty cup to the brim. I slowly took a sip of the tea, savoring the faint aroma that wafted to my nostrils. It tasted a little bitter, but I thought that this was how tea should taste, so I emptied my cup in one gulp.

After that, I spent some awkward time. Perhaps it was because she was shocked by my story of remarriage, but Sylvia didn’t say anything anymore and spent her time reading the book she had brought. I spent my time quietly reading a book, and I began to feel sleepy, perhaps because of the sunlight streaming in from the window.

    “Mom, are you sleepy?”

    “Yeah… a little… sleepy… ”

I don’t know if it was because of the warm sunlight, or the heavy atmosphere, or my stomach warmed up by the tea, but even though I slept like that yesterday, I blinked my heavy eyelids as drowsiness crept in. I pinched my thighs and slapped my cheeks in an attempt to open my eyes, but it was no use.

    “It’s okay to sleep.”

    “But…”

“I’m fine. If you’re tired, go to sleep quickly. I’ll wake you up before dinner time.”

As soon as Sylvia gave permission, my eyes closed as if I was under a spell. I didn’t have the energy to go to bed, so I fell asleep on the table. In my hazy consciousness, I could faintly hear Sylvia’s soft voice like an echo.

    “I’m sorry, but… it’s all… it’s all your fault, Mom.”
