Chapter Index

    lodging.

As the day was getting brighter and the time to welcome Flora was approaching, Kailon, Agnes, and Linda were getting ready to go out.

They all had their own luggage and were busy moving around because they had something to do, but since I had nothing else to take care of, I just stared blankly.

What I have is the Morning Star that Kylon bought me.

And since it was a holy sword that Kylon did not know about, there was no special baggage to carry.

After everyone had packed their bags and prepared, they were able to walk to the designated section of the royal road and meet Flora.

The book cover, made of more luxurious leather than before, seemed to prove that the grimoire was no ordinary book.

The gold leaf engraved here and there on the leather, and even the round jewel decorating the center showed off its beauty, so I couldn’t help but be distracted by it.

Anyway, the moment I joined Flora, her expression became slightly distorted.

    “… It’s late.”

When I think about it, I think we were originally supposed to meet earlier, but I felt sorry that we were delayed because of my meal time.

Seeing Flora’s slightly upset face like that made me moan.

He’s already a tough guy, so what if he gets even angrier here? There was also that anxiety.

Of course, I don’t think it’s a matter for Kylon to solve regardless of me, but if Kylon’s dating business fails, it’s me, not Kylon, who is anxious.

Even though Kylon said he would let me see the ending and even send me back to the original world, I knew very well that unlike me, Kylon would not be that desperate for the ending.

Could it be that the likeability is low for no reason? While he was so worried, Kailon raised the corners of his mouth when he saw Flora with her eyes wide open.

“… Sorry sorry. Later, I will buy you something that the Magic Tower says is expensive.”

Kailon spoke slyly as if he was trying to bribe her with something.

Then, as if Flora didn’t think it was that bad, her distorted expression softened and she moaned.

I realized that magic-related items were quite expensive and that I could quickly free Flora, who was a wizard.

“Hmph, do you think you can solve people with something like that?”

She sounded like she was sulking, but Kylon just smiled bitterly.

Because I knew she wasn’t that upset anyway.

However, in the meantime, Kailon made a joke to her a little later.

Of course, it would have been true if he had made an expression that he really didn’t like it, but seeing as he only grumbled and didn’t reject it, I could quickly tell that Kylon knew what he was doing.

“Why is it like that, it’s not that good? Then should we do something else?”

    “No… I can’t say anything. That’s it, that’s enough.”

Flora pursed her lips and sighed, as if she was displeased with Kailon, and Kailon then smiled broadly and nodded.

    “Okay, okay.”

After joining, we couldn’t wait to talk and headed to our next destination.

A cathedral that can be said to be the reason for Kailon’s return to the Holy Kingdom.

What on earth does Kylon have to do at the cathedral? If so, it was not difficult to know that it was to find the Pope.

Well, because I heard what he was thinking.

But is that something that is easy to find out?

I don’t think Kylon’s actions were meaningless, but I didn’t think he would go to this length.

I wanted to collect the remaining six reinforcement stones to amplify the power of the holy sword as soon as possible and attack Agnes and Flora at the same time.

Or, what I thought was so standard that I wondered if it was a path toward a very common ending rather than the true ending, so it was difficult to directly refute Kylon’s opinion.

    “Anyway, let’s go then.”

With Kaylon’s words, we headed to the huge cathedral located on the highest terrain.

    *

The first political figure in the Holy Kingdom was the Pope.

And the second one is the king.

The castle at the center of the castle could be said to be a space where politics were mainly handled, but the castle’s cathedral, located at the highest point in the castle, could be said to be the real power.

    Climb, climb, climb the stairs.

After encountering the Pope’s castle, which others might not have been able to easily step into, I felt as if my exhausted stamina was dragging me to the floor.

Flora went up by herself, and I could tell that Kylon, Linda, and Agnes had some stamina so they could climb up quickly, but I was so exhausted that I even had to leave the Morning Star I was holding to Kylon.

As I was breathing heavily and shaking my shoulders, Kailon took out some supplements for me.

“Saint, please eat. Are you having a hard time?”

“Oh, no… . Well, I’ll eat well for now. Thank you.”

I quickly accepted Kylon’s favor, drank it, and quickly regained my peace.

Just a moment ago, I felt like I was going to die from lack of breath, but now, my body seemed to have forgotten that I had climbed those stairs and my heartbeat and lung movements returned to their normal, gentle pace.

The moment he calmed down and his shoulders stopped moving, Kailon confirmed it, straightened his shoulders again and approached the door in front of him.

Security guards and people who appeared to be monks were blocking the door, but Kylon paid no attention.

“I came to see the Pope for a moment.”

Kailon walked confidently, took a look at the guard, and spoke to the monk who was also standing next to him.

Then, the monk wearing a plain white robe looked around at Kylon’s appearance with his blue eyes and then cautiously opened his mouth.

    “… The Pope is away.”

“Can I know where it went?”

    “That’s fine with us too… ”

The monk with his dull blond hair answered in a quiet voice as if he didn’t know much, but then he waved his hands as if to indicate that he was not making excuses and that he had no choice but to not know because of his position.

This was the part where we learned that, unlike priests who wore cloth of different colors depending on the period, they only wore white robes for any period of time, so they might not have the authority of their position.

Kailon seemed to know this as well, and groaned, “Hmm,” and then spoke about the next person in power, as if he thought he would never be able to meet the Pope.

    “Then is there a bishop?”

“… When it comes to bishops, some are absent along with the Pope, and some remain here to celebrate Mass.”

Fortunately, this meant that only some followed the Pope.

And the conversation was definitely nutritious.

If a bishop followed the Pope, it meant that the Bishop’s movements could be known.

Therefore, Kylon nodded without reacting too excessively.

“I see. Then please let me see the bishop.”

He turned his gaze for a moment at Kylon’s request, looked at Linda, Flora, and Agnes in turn, and shook his head.

This seemed to indicate that, unless you were a cathedral official, it would not be easy to bring it to the largest cathedral in the Holy Kingdom, rather than an ordinary cathedral.

“Well, since you are a warrior, there is no need for any special confirmation procedures. But the people behind you cannot.”

Kylon was a bit taller, Flora was wearing an oversized conical hat and robe, and Agnes was also wearing armor, although she was wearing a light jacket, so I, who was standing at the back, seemed to be sufficiently hidden and invisible to the monks.

    “… Can I do that?”

So I slipped past them and exposed myself.

Then, for a moment, the monk felt like his breathing had stopped.

“… White, nun’s uniform. Sir, are you a saint?”

    “Ah, yes.”

“No, ha, I wore a white nun’s uniform, so why wasn’t it known to the cathedral…? Hey, security guard?”

The monk, who had an incomprehensible expression on his face, fell into silence repeatedly, and eventually, perhaps deciding that he could not come up with an answer on his own, approached the guard and whispered to him.

Then, in an instant, the huge door of the cathedral opened, and the monk pointed inside with his hand.

“I will guide the warrior and the saint. For others, the security guard here will guide you to the tea room.”

The party split into two teams in an instant, each walking slowly with a different guide in front of them.

The monk guiding me and Kailon began to complain in a tone of bewilderment.

“No, does it make sense that the cathedral doesn’t know that the saint has appeared? It’s amazing what happened.”

However, I could immediately tell that those feelings were directed somewhere else rather than towards me or Kylon, so I just listened to what he said.

“Rather than that, where did you prepare the white nun’s clothes?”

    “Over there in the convent.”

“But why didn’t I get a call? I guess I’ll have to check it out. If the saint had not come to visit, I would not have known. I will guide you to where the bishop is in a moment.”

The moment I entered the cathedral and entered the cathedral grounds through the door leading to the cathedral, I was greeted by a landscape of a scale that made one think it was a huge village.
