by fnovelpiaAfter talking with Professor Chris, a few days later on the weekend, I find myself heading to the principal’s office.
The last time I met Iris, she asked me to come for special education on weekends, so it shouldn’t be a big problem if I visit first.
There are several reasons for my voluntary visit, but among them, I can’t help but worry that the academy staff who disappear after leaving a message to come to the principal’s office might not be there.
“If I keep receiving messages like this, I should go and see for myself.”
Starting early in the morning with a brief meditation and aura training, enhancing my extrasensory perception, even if they try to find me from over there, they won’t be able to meet me.
I am deliberately going while sensing and monitoring, and the only presence that can penetrate my surveillance undetected should be Iris within the academy.
Arriving at the principal’s office, about to knock, I suddenly remembered the last time I met Iris.
“You can come in without knocking.”
“Since she said I didn’t need to knock last time, maybe I can just go in.”
Anyway, if it’s Iris, she should have known that I was coming, so her silence could be considered tacit approval, and I opened the door wide.
“Hello, Principal, it’s Yukal. As you mentioned last time, I came to see you on the weekend-”
“Get out! Get out right now!! Why are you rudely entering someone’s room without even knocking!!!”
Seeing Iris getting angry and about to cast a spell, I hurriedly apologized and closed the door.
“What? Did she not know I had come until I entered the principal’s office?”
Just before the door closed, it seemed like Iris was concentrating, reading something stacked on a shelf.
I was quite taken aback by Iris shouting, as she had always maintained a calm demeanor except when facing enemies attacking the Ardente Academy.
“What was she doing that surprised her so much?”
How long had I waited? Soon, her voice, seemingly calmed down, reached me.
“You can come in now.”
As I entered, the books she had been reading or the pile of books on the desk… were gone.
Instead, there were stacks of documents and a slightly messy desk that seemed hastily prepared.
Some documents sticking out in the middle seemed already processed, but they were placed upside down.
“Iris showing me paperwork… Was she deciphering some ancient text hidden in a book?”
If she was so focused on studying a book that she didn’t notice me coming in, it made sense.
If she was researching with such intense focus on the book, she probably hadn’t monitored anything other than the principal’s office, excluding a safe distance.
If Iris was so cautious and dedicated to her research, to the point where it could affect me, her abrupt attitude wasn’t strange.
“Next time, make sure to knock before entering. You’ve been doing well so far, but if you suddenly don’t, what will happen?”
“I’m sorry. I came in because you said it was okay not to knock last time. I’ll be more careful in the future.”
With my apology and assurance not to do it again, Iris seemed somewhat appeased and invited me to sit down.
“If I continue like this, it might seem a bit off to initiate the conversation with Iris first.”
Originally, I didn’t think I needed the strange drawing education from last time, so I was about to ask her to change the content of the education, but for now, it seems best to do as she says.
Iris handed me tea and cookies with magic and spoke to me first.
“Today, we will have a slightly different education than last time.”
Fortunately, Iris seemed to be aware that the previous education was not really necessary for me.
What kind of education is she going to provide?
Although it may not have been Iris’s intention, she provided me with education so that I wouldn’t collapse in front of Cineria, either by properly negotiating with her or by learning magic, which would be the most ideal situation.
Thanks to her help, I was able to finish without being dragged around in negotiations with Cineria.
Contrary to my slightly hopeful expectations, the words Iris brought up were disappointing to me.
“Before that, it might become a bit sensitive, but answer truthfully. Yukal, do you have someone you are currently dating? I’m talking about encounters with the opposite sex, not just socializing with people.”
‘Did Iris hear rumors about that from Cineria’s visit?’
Or maybe she caught it while monitoring in real-time.
“No, I don’t. As I mentioned to the principal before, don’t I have more important goals right now?”
Contrary to my thoughts that this answer would suffice, Iris instead firmly told me:
“Ardent Academy does not prohibit relationships. However, we do not condone disruptive behavior beyond a student’s duties.”
I didn’t expect Iris to take Cineria’s sudden kiss so seriously.
Well, from Iris’s perspective, she must be aware of her danger and is probably worried about me as a student, hence why she is saying this.
“I understand what the principal is trying to say, but I am not in a relationship with Cineria.”
“That’s the problem. If you engage in public displays of affection with someone you don’t even like and create a child… What then!”
I almost spat out the tea I was drinking at Iris’s following words.
‘Did I hear wrong? What did she say?’
“It seems like I misheard, but could you please repeat that?”
“As a teacher, I need to prevent you from going down the wrong path, Yukal. Healthy relationships and love must involve such actions and require understanding each other, leading to a serious commitment later on.”
My head felt dizzy.
For some reason, Iris had concluded that I had engaged in such actions with Cineria.
‘I need to clear up this misunderstanding first.’
“I think we should start by learning the proper and improper forms of physical contact. Wait, wasn’t this the order…? It was clearly in the book-”
First, I need to stop Iris from spouting strange content and clear up the misunderstanding.
“I apologize for interrupting, but it seems the principal has a big misunderstanding. My sister and I have not engaged in sexual activities.”
“….”
After hearing my words, Iris stiffened like a statue, and soon her face turned as red as a tomato.
Realizing how embarrassing her actions were, she quietly buried her face behind the documents.
Whether it was Sung Yong-a or in the world right now, her dignified and competent demeanor seemed to have disappeared, and for the first time, she felt pitiful, not due to mood swings.
With a small sigh, I firmly nailed the nail in.
“I can swear by everything I have. There was nothing the principal was worried about, and although the kiss caught me off guard, I think it was just a joke. I don’t intend to become so weak before protecting everyone.”
Iris still couldn’t look me in the eye, seemingly embarrassed.
Considering the current situation, the book I was reading might not be about magic research but rather about dating or sex education to teach me.
“Then, could it be that you didn’t meet me before going down to the warehouse for studying?”
Protecting the students and ensuring the smooth operation of the Ardent Academy, Iris’s role is crucial, yet she seems shaken by such a minor incident.
One small action from Cineria had such a significant impact on my reputation among the students and even on Iris, almost driving me crazy.
If Cineria visits me next time, it might be good to discuss the previous incident a bit.
“If we continue like this, spending the whole day in silence with Iris and then leaving wouldn’t seem strange at all.”
If I don’t bring up another topic first to change the subject, Iris will probably quietly look at me and leave.
“What you prepared, Principal, was unexpected for me, but I also felt that additional education was necessary during our weekly meetings. Taking time out of your busy schedule to meet with me is important, and I believe it shouldn’t be wasted.”
I sensed Iris flinch as she listened intently to my words.
“I enrolled in the School of Magic, but I haven’t properly learned any magic yet. How do you feel about changing the special education content to teaching me magic?”
Finally, Iris stood up as usual, turning towards me once again.
