Xu Nian was furious, absolutely furious.

This wasn’t how things were supposed to go.

This was completely different from what she had imagined. Her joy meter was plummeting to rock bottom, damn it!

Fuming, Xu Nian glared at Su Qingya.

But for some reason, Su Qingya’s expression darkened slightly, as if displeased.

    Xu Nian was startled.

She could tell that displeasure was directed at her.

“Um, I kind of need to use the bathroom.”

Before Xu Nian could say anything, Su Qingya seized the opportunity to speak.

Mrs. Xu quickly pointed in a direction. “The bathroom’s over there. If you’re not sure, just ask any servant—they’ll take you.”

Though Mrs. Xu’s tone was perfectly clear, Su Qingya acted as if she hadn’t heard—or perhaps she simply didn’t care.

Instead, she stared blankly ahead and said, “I don’t know. I’m not sure. Can Nian Nian take me instead?”

Perhaps because Xu Nian was sitting right beside her, with a soft, squeezable fox leg in her grasp, the usually timid Su Qingya suddenly gained a surge of confidence.

“O-of course! Nian Nian, hurry and take Qingya to the bathroom. She’s new to this house and isn’t familiar with anything yet. As part of this family, you should take care of her.”

    “I don’t wanna—”

Before Xu Nian could refuse out of spite, Su Qingya released her leg, grabbed her hand, and dragged her off in a random direction.

Xu Nian had a bad feeling. She was about to suffer.

She could tell—Su Qingya was genuinely angry.

But this was at home. Surely Su Qingya wouldn’t do anything too extreme… right?

    “Help! Someone help!”

Xu Nian tried invoking her parents’ authority.

    Mrs. Xu stood up.

Just when Xu Nian thought she was about to be saved, her mother simply pointed again.

    “The bathroom’s that way.”

Su Qingya didn’t ignore her this time. She pretended to adjust her direction, but it was obvious—the bathroom wasn’t her real destination.

Though the bathroom wasn’t a bad place.

Private. No interruptions. No one outside would hear a thing.

“Why do these two seem a bit off?” Xu Qingshan frowned, unable to make sense of it.

“Is there a problem? Well, between girls… going to the bathroom together is probably a way to bond, right? Besides, Qingya really does seem like a good kid.”

    Mrs. Xu mused aloud.

After all, Su Qingya had always behaved obediently.

    She trusted her.

She understood—children who’d suffered yet remained strong were often more mature.

“Hmm, we’ll see what happened once they come back. Their expressions should tell us everything. Then we can address it properly and help Qingya settle into this family faster.”

Mrs. Xu spoke as if she had it all figured out.

    Yes, expressions would reveal everything.

Happiness or hostility—both were easy to read at a glance.

If they were happy, it meant Xu Nian and Su Qingya had accepted each other. A win-win.

If they were hostile, then as parents, they’d have to find a way to mediate.

So, stepping back and observing was actually the best way to reach the right conclusion.

That was why Mrs. Xu hadn’t intervened, even when she heard cries for help.

After all, no matter how hard they tried, they’d never guess what was really going on between Xu Nian and Su Qingya.

The pitiful little fox, Xu Nian, was ultimately dragged into the bathroom by the “big bad wolf” Su Qingya. The door locked behind them, and she was pinned against the tiled wall, completely trapped with no way out.

“Wh-what do you think you’re doing?”

Xu Nian panicked. She was genuinely panicking.

Was Su Qingya about to unleash her yandere side?

Damn it, this was the bathroom at home!

    What was she planning?

Should she use a simulation chance?

She’d just gotten it! Was she really going to waste it like this?

    So unfair.

    “You owe me an explanation.”

    “An explanation for what?”

Su Qingya kissed her so fiercely that Xu Nian nearly lost her breath.

    “Are you going to talk?”

    “Talk about what?!”

Another kiss, this one nearly making Xu Nian’s legs give out.

“Are you going to tell me or not?”

    “Tell you what?!”

“Nian Nian, you really won’t confess until you’re cornered, huh? If you keep refusing, I’ll cover you in marks and let Mom and Dad see just how pathetic you look.”

    ???

Without waiting, Su Qingya cupped Xu Nian’s face and attacked her lips again, sucking fiercely.

This time, Xu Nian’s legs truly went weak. Her tail drooped limply, and her brain short-circuited from lack of oxygen.

    “Still not talking?”

“If you want to kiss me, just say so. Don’t make up such a lame excuse.”

Xu Nian’s face burned red. If she hadn’t been leaning against Su Qingya, she wouldn’t have been able to stand at all.

“You’ve got me locked in the bathroom. Do you really think I can resist even if I wanted to?”

“Mom and Dad said you have a boyfriend. What’s that about? And something about you continuing the family line—what’s going on?”

Su Qingya radiated an inexplicable fury, her eyes gleaming dangerously.

“Don’t tell me… Nian Nian, am I not enough for you? Who is it?”

“Who else could it be but you? If you hadn’t left that hickey on me last night, they wouldn’t have misunderstood!”

Xu Nian never expected this to be the reason.

Su Qingya froze, then leaned in to inspect the back of Xu Nian’s neck. There, barely visible, was a faint red mark—one she’d left the night before, now almost faded.

Without a word, Su Qingya latched onto the same spot again, suctioning like an octopus until a fresh, vivid mark bloomed on Xu Nian’s skin.

    “Nngh~” Xu Nian couldn’t suppress a moan.

    “Wh-what are you doing?!”

“This is my mark. My claim on you. So anyone who even thinks about coveting you will have to think twice.”

Then, Su Qingya tilted her head, exposing her own slender, fair neck.

“Nian Nian can leave a mark on me too, you know.”

The boldness in her demeanor now was a far cry from the shy, nervous girl she’d been earlier.

It was like she was a completely different person!

    “I-I’m not a vampire!”

But refusing would be rude. Besides, it was only fair. Xu Nian had no reason to decline.

Once she’d left her own mark, Xu Nian finally released Su Qingya.

    “Happy now?”

    “Mhm.”

Su Qingya took a photo with her phone, examining it carefully before nodding in satisfaction.

At least the current Su Qingya wasn’t as hard to deal with as the extreme yandere from the simulator, who’d immediately tied her up.

Saving a simulation chance was a small victory.

“But what’s this about you bringing a boyfriend to meet them?”

“They wouldn’t stop nagging me, so I said it out of spite. How about this—you dress up as a guy and help me fool them, okay? My dear boyfriend~ Pfft.”

Su Qingya’s face instantly flushed scarlet.

    H-her? As a boyfriend?!

    “Th-that’s impossible! I-I can’t! Crossdressing is…!”

“Then you’d rather I ask someone else?”

“No!!” The moment Xu Nian suggested it, Su Qingya snapped.

“Pfft. So? Will you do it or not?”

    “…Fine.”

In the end, Su Qingya relented.

“But I also told them… I’d bring a girlfriend to meet them. So when the time comes…”

“Wait, what girlfriend? You came out to them?!”

    Xu Nian was stunned!

    How was she this brave?!

“Yeah. They accepted it. But I didn’t say it was you. Should we just tell them now? Say you’re the one I’m going to marry?”

“Do you want me dead?! No! We can’t just drop that bomb yet. Think about how they’d see us! We need to gauge their reactions first, then take it step by step. Ugh, fine, I get it. Disguises are my thing anyway. I’ll change my appearance and help you bluff your way through.”

Deep down, Su Qingya wasn’t entirely comfortable with this.

Her partner could only be Xu Nian—not even Xu Nian in disguise.

But seeing the worry on Xu Nian’s face…

“Alright. Once we know how they really feel, we’ll come clean. But forget the disguises. I’ll find a way to stall.”

    “Why?”

Xu Nian thought it’d be fun.

Maybe even boost her joy levels.

But her question earned her a sharp flick on the forehead from Su Qingya.

    “Stupid Nian Nian.”
