    Battle to recapture Zenon Plains

Duke Tiruen quickly rode his horse toward the imperial army’s headquarters and recalled the report he had just heard.

‘The Empress Dowager is here on the battlefield! It’s incredible information, but considering that the vice-captain of the Royal Guard Knights is participating and the princesses are also there, it seems somewhat credible!!’

It could have been a trap, but it was the only way to turn the current war situation around, so he led his 10,000 cavalry and rode in haste.

Eventually, his face turned bright red when he saw that the golden eagle flag, symbolizing the imperial family, was hung on the headquarters of the Balkan Army in the distance.

‘I’m not sure why the Empress Dowager came to this front, but she probably came to comfort the soldiers on behalf of her son, who had just given birth. And if we can capture the Empress of Balkan here, we can turn the current unfavorable situation around at once! As long as we have the Empress in our hands, they won’t be able to attack recklessly, and we can even go as far as signing a non-aggression pact until Zenon is stabilized on the condition of their safe release!!’

“All troops!! Drive away the horses!! The enemy must have realized by now that our unit had taken a detour!! We must finish this place before the enemy’s rescuers reach us!!”

    “Okay! Your Excellency the Duke!!”

As the distance from the Balkan headquarters reached within 1km, Tiruen smiled as he watched the defenders hurriedly form their formations, sensing the success of the operation.

“If you find the Empress of Balkan, do not touch her and inform me immediately!! If there is anyone who causes harm, I will personally cut off that person’s head!! I say it again!! If there is someone who appears to be a high-ranking person, you should never touch them!!”

‘In my heart, I want to tear her to pieces right away… but if I do that, the enemies may become vengeful and slaughter the allies who are at a disadvantage… We must capture the Empress as quickly and safely as possible!!’

At the headquarters surrounded by a flimsy wooden fence, the defenders began shooting arrows like rain.

However, because the number of defenders was small to begin with, only a few dozen cavalrymen were hit by arrows and fell, and the cavalry led by Tiruen approached the Balkan Empire Army headquarters without much resistance.

    and

“I will take over this place! Esgraan! You take 5,000 cavalry and block the enemy’s relief forces! It must never be breached until the Empress Dowager is captured!!”

“Old! Your Majesty the Duke! I will risk my life to block the enemy”

Tiruen, who handed over half of the army to his trusted confidant, took the remaining 4,000 cavalry and jumped over the wooden fence.

As soon as they jumped over the barrier, Tiruen and his men could see a single heavy infantryman with a determined expression blocking them along the narrow road between numerous barracks.

“Stop it!! If this place is breached, it will be the command center immediately!! Reinforcements will arrive soon, so you just have to hold out until then!!”

Tiruen and his cavalry paused for a moment and let out low groans as they hit the wall with sharp polearms and heavy tower shields.

Of course, the difference in troops was enormous, but since the soldiers guarding the headquarters were staring at the Balkan army in a well-organized formation as if they would never be penetrated, it seemed that breakthrough was possible only after making a considerable sacrifice.

‘Hmm… Because of the barracks, it is impossible for our cavalry to take a detour… There will be some sacrifice, but… just crush them with height and numbers. Dragging out time will only give the enemy reinforcements time to arrive! We have to break through here somehow!!’

    Cheaeng!!

“I will be at the forefront!! Tesseito Kingdom Army!! Break through the enemy! You will lead this war to victory with your spears!!”

Tiruen, who had made his decision and drew his sword, quickly ran forward and cut down the heavy infantrymen who were blocking his path with his sword energy, and his men also gathered courage and rode their horses again to follow him.

“All troops~! Follow His Excellency!! For Tesseito!!”

    Wow

The 1,000-strong headquarters garrison formed a dense formation to block the Tesseito cavalry that was coming in like a wave, but it was nearly impossible for the Tesseito Kingdom’s strongest knight, who was not an ordinary master, to stop the Tesseito army at the forefront.

“Eight! It’s disturbing!! Get out of the way!! Get out of the way!”

    Suddenly! Suddenly!!

Every time Duke Tiruen’s sword swung, the lives of two or three imperial infantrymen were instantly taken away, and the imperial troops who stood in his way fell like straw in front of the terrifying sword.

As the cavalry began to penetrate the gap created by Tiruen, the imperial army’s square was instantly broken through and collapsed.

” Form your formation again!! Defeat the enemy somehow!! We must defend this place, even if it means giving up our lives!!”

The garrison commander tried to control the troops somehow, but the infantry was no match for the cavalry as the formation was completely broken, and as soon as Duke Tiruen completely penetrated the formation, the defense completely collapsed and scattered here and there.

“Find the barracks of the Empress Dowager and the enemy commander!! Just in case, he might change his clothes and run away, so you have to capture each and every soldier!”

“Check and if it is not a woman, you can kill her! Find the Empress!! Hurry up!”

Tesseito’s cavalry, who destroyed the garrison and completely took control of the headquarters, saw only the faces of the Balkan soldiers attacking them and then beheaded them.

Among them, there was even a soldier who had his head cut off even though he had surrendered his weapon. Tiruen’s eyes widened when he saw that scene.

‘Ah! I didn’t realize that hostility toward the enemy would be excessive just because our troops were in danger! You shouldn’t kill the soldiers like that…’

Tiruen was well aware that if he carelessly killed the soldiers, his prisoners could easily be killed as well, so he raised his hand to stop the soldiers, but soon clenched his fist.

‘But… I don’t have time to worry about each and every prisoner right now… I have to somehow quickly find the Empress and turn the tide of the war… To do that, the sacrifices of such a small number of people…’

Then, at the sound of a woman’s voice echoing throughout the battlefield, Duke Tiruen raised his head.

“Stop!! Don’t you have any battlefield rules? How can you kill soldiers so carelessly? No matter how much it is a war between countries, aren’t there basic rules that must be followed?”

“Hwa, Empress Dowager… You should take shelter first…”

When a woman wearing a fancy general’s uniform proudly appeared and shouted, a man wearing an equally fancy commander’s uniform stopped her.

“Eight! It’s noisy! Should I remain silent while the Empire’s soldiers are being killed in vain like that? Enemy commanders reveal themselves!! And stop this massacre right now!!”

Hearing the voice of a woman who appeared to be the Empress, Tiruen ran in front of her, got off his horse, and asked.

“Are you the Empress Dowager of the Balkans?”

“That’s right. I am Yuria Windrage von Balkan, Empress Dowager of Balkan. Why are you asking that?”

“My name is Moritz Flutri Thiruen. Despite his shortcomings, he serves as the commander-in-chief of the Tesseito Kingdom army. As you said, let’s stop the battle”

With Yuria’s eyes glaring at him, he ordered the military to stop fighting.

Then, the Balkan garrison, who were helplessly massacred, was able to save their lives, but they lowered their heads at the thought that it was the Empress who saved their lives and that she would soon be taken prisoner.

“As you said, the battle has been stopped. Still, it seems like about 500 people were saved thanks to the Empress Dowager’s quick appearance. So now you two are officially prisoners…”

“A prisoner of war? The battle here is over, but the war is not over. Because my son won’t stay still. If I know I’m in danger, I’ll come running right away and defeat you and save me, so let go of my hand”

When Duke Tiruen grabbed her arm, Yuria reacted harshly and shook off his hand.

“Hahaha, how can the emperor from Adria come running here? Even if the situation here is reported, it will take at least two days from the nearest space movement magic circle to here…”

Tiruen tried to reach out towards Yuria again and capture her, but when he felt a strange feeling, he instinctively stopped talking and threw himself backwards.

    Quaaa!!

At the same time, a large explosion occurred in the place where Tiruen was, and Mayer, who was accompanying Yuria, took off his coat and wrapped it around her to help her escape, but Tiruen, who felt the huge presence, was unable to block it.

    “What is this?”

Tiruen was taken aback by the barrage of energy coming towards him like a shooting star, so he pulled out his sword and did his best to block it, but he was unable to block a single fist flying towards him.

    Whoa!!

“Why does this damn guy want to lay hands on a married woman? A guy who even has a wife… Ah! Did your wife say she won’t treat you? No matter what… Mr. Kwak!!”

The Balkan Empire army’s expressions brightened as their emperor appeared with bright blonde hair and struck a blow to the enemy commander, and Tesseito’s army had to watch with an expression of astonishment.
