Chapter Index

    ***

She left the house with the intention of going for a quick walk.

As she was walking in the holiday sunshine, a worry suddenly came to her mind.

I was worried what would happen if Kang In-ho made a mistake.

Although we are becoming very close, we have only recently met. There was ample possibility of a slip of the tongue.

[Because you might make a mistake.]

“I never thought I would write this like this.”

Seongah Kim smiled bitterly as she looked at the location tracking app on her cell phone.

It was an app that I installed when I bought a cell phone out of fear that something might happen to Kang In-ho.

It was a kind of protective action, but she may not have known at the time that it would be used for surveillance purposes.

Feeling guilty for invading her privacy for a moment, she narrowed her eyes and looked across the store.

What were they talking about that made them so cheerful? Do I tell my story? What are you laughing at?

All kinds of questions opened like fruit in her head.

Kim Seong-ah, who had been staring inside for a while, took a few steps back in surprise.

Her face, briefly reflected in the glass window, was so frozen.

    “…What are you doing?”

    Suddenly, a storm came.

The sight of myself standing in front of the glass window looked so ridiculous and shabby.

Regardless of her mood, the conversation continued inside the window.

Kang In-ho was talking at length about the question he was asked.

    “…?”

And I could see my homeroom teacher’s face hardening, little by little, ever so slightly.

    ‘What are you talking about….’

The homeroom teacher’s smile, which had been smiling innocently just a moment ago, began to gradually turn more mechanical.

    I see his face hardening.

“Let’s hear what they’re talking about.”

That was when she held out her right hand and was about to perform an eavesdropping spell.

An unpleasant wave passed through her entire body.

    Chicken flesh grew.

What this meant, she didn’t know.

No, it was a mistake because I knew it too well. Because it’s something I’ve felt and dealt with over the past few years.

It is an invasion by the forces of evil.

Normally, she would have already completed her transformation and prepared to fly, but for some reason today, she couldn’t easily leave her footsteps.

    “When it’s important…”

Seongah Kim chewed her lips, looking back and forth between the crack and the Japanese restaurant.

Her purple eyes flashed for a moment. A crack was forming at a point in the sky far away.

Soon, something will come through that crack.

    – Okay.

She gritted her teeth. And what she chose was her duty.

“[The power of the brilliant, sacred star.]”

Chanting a spell, she stamped her feet.

Like a comet’s tail, she soared into the sky, leaving behind a cloud of blue light.

By the time she finished her spell, a bony, grotesque arm was sticking out from a small crack.

An arm that looked like a piece of leather placed on top of a bone began to squeeze through the crack.

With those white arms gradually extending out, she grasped her staff and got into a fighting stance.

    “Single hair between adjustments.”

She took a deep breath of air. Her eyes shone.

Finish it with just one hit, aim for the crack that opens.

    She muttered, her eyes narrowed.

    – Ujijik

The space is torn, and the gap between the cracks widens.

Before I knew it, both arms came out and opened a crack using the air as support.

Lyrical Star did not miss the gap that opened up.

    “From a prepared shooter.”

The staff spewed fire. A huge blue bullet entered the gap.

    – Boom

Along with the sound of an explosion, smoke seeped out from inside the crack.

The arms that had already come out went limp.

    “…….”

Lyrical Star lowered his staff and glanced at his feet.

Far below, out of sight, his roommate would be there.

And then, a huge shock hit her stomach.

    “Tsk!”

My eyes squinted at the pain of my back being bent in half.

She flew through the air. At the end of my vision blurred by intense pain, there was a strange creature with an animal skull as its head.

    “Queee!!!”

    “I let my guard down….”

I was sobbing, blood gushing out of my mouth.

It seemed like the attack just now had a fairly decisive effect.

And unexpected anger welled up like the blood she spit out.

    “It’s annoying.”

Is it because I was attacked? The lyrical star’s voice became infinitely subdued.

    “Gra la la la!”

A skeleton monster rushed towards her, running on all fours in the sky.

    “It’s annoying.”

The color of the purple eyes became deeper.

    “Koo!”

The monster leaped from mid-distance, overlapped both hands and struck down.

The lyrical star chose not to let it go and just hit back.

The fist is received with the body of the staff held horizontally.

    thud!

My knees buckled slightly from the weight of the slam.

The skeleton monster struck her with both hands alternately, as if trying to push her down.

    thud!

    thud!

    thud!

As the attacks continued to rain down on her, her legs swayed pitifully.

    “It’s all annoying.”

Her deep purple eyes were still focused on the monster.

She placed the tip of the spear against her right fist as it came down again.

Phew, the cane pierced my bony fist like a skewer.

    “Koo?”

The monster nodded at the blue energy flowing into its arm.

She, who had gathered infinite star power, muttered.

    “Disappear.”

    – Boom

The power of the star amplified from within pulverized the skeleton monster.

    “…….”

Lyrical Star looked at the stardust falling to the ground with a stern face.

Kang In-ho could not keep up with the flow of conversation.

Clearly, I noticed that the other person’s attitude had changed from before.

    But I didn’t know why.

Lim Soo-ah, who treated her in a friendly manner, seemed to have lost interest in the conversation and checked the time on her cell phone every 10 minutes.

    ‘Did I say something wrong?’

He recalled the conversation he had had so far.

We sit down and talk about Seong-ah until we eat.

And after eating half of the food, Lim Soo-ah asked about herself.

    – You said you were a freelancer, right? What exactly you are doing…

    – Oh, I see. I have a general idea about that job, but isn’t the income still good?

    – Do you have a car…?

I couldn’t tell a big lie for no reason, so I remembered answering appropriately.

‘I guess it’s because I spoke too roughly.’

    “Would you like some coffee?”

When Kang In-ho spoke to Lim Su-ah, Lim Su-ah responded with a troubled face.

“Oh my, what should I do? I had to go somewhere urgently.”

“Oh, then there’s nothing we can do.”

Kang In-ho nodded and stood up.

He went to the checkout counter, presented his card to the clerk, and the clerk used the card to pay for his lunch.

    “Then, please enter carefully.”

Lim Soo-ah said hello and quickly disappeared into the distance.

    “…What is this feeling.”

He clearly consulted with school teachers about students, and he recalled the memory of once being harshly rejected on a blind date.

Scratching my head, I was about to go home when I heard a voice calling me from somewhere.

    “Mister, are you done?”

Kim Seong-ah, who looked oddly tired, was somehow approaching him.
