Chapter Index

    ***

A soft texture, an electronic sound that hits your ears.

Even with my eyes closed, I can tell that I am in modern times.

And the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was not the unfamiliar ceiling,

    [Number of dimension shifts: 9]

    It’s a familiar message.

“Ah… what kind of world will it be this time?”

A slightly high-pitched voice is heard in my ears.

    I think it’s my voice.

My head was pounding, as if I had drank too much the day before.

It feels like the world is spinning. I raised my heavy body, placing my palms on the mattress.

It is a dark room, not much different from closing your eyes.

    – Ding dong ding dong

The loud electronic sound is heard again.

How do you move your tiny body? It took quite a bit of force just to touch the floor with my legs on the bed.

The cold temperature of the floor was transmitted through the soles of my feet.

Strengthen your arms again, raise your body and take a step.

Something catches my foot. I hear the sound of something small, like plastic, rolling on the floor.

Before resolving the loud electronic sound, I pulled back the curtains to brighten the dark room.

The curtain moves and sunlight comes in. The sunlight is more than warm.

My eyes hurt quite a bit, as if they hadn’t yet adjusted to the light.

    – Ding dong ding dong

I still heard the electronic sound, and I realized it was the doorbell.

When I turned to answer the call, the situation in the room illuminated by sunlight gradually came into view.

The condition of the room could be described as a pigsty.

A similar situation to when you possessed the body of a middle-aged man.

Liquor bottles scattered here and there, cigarette ash remaining on the floor, and traces of the fire being extinguished.

And unidentified medicines fell out of a small round plastic container and its open spout.

“What is it again this time….”

Knowing at a glance that it was not a normal person’s room, I felt a deep sense of annoyance all over me.

It’s already hard because of the obsessed woman, but I hope the object of possession is somewhat normal.

No, is it because he is a flawed person that the obsessed woman is attracted to him?

I wonder if the chicken came first or the egg… I have useless thoughts.

    – Ding dong ding dong

I hear the doorbell ringing again.

I looked back and forth between the door and the room, lost in thought.

I think it would be right to clean up the miserable state of this room and welcome visitors.

I put myself against the window again and look out.

A young woman stands undisturbed in front of the gate.

When the woman presses something with her finger, the doorbell sounds.

    – Ding dong ding dong

When there was no response from this side, the woman seemed to sigh heavily.

And I look at the second floor where I am.

    That’s how our eyes meet.

The woman’s eyes narrow and she rummages through her bag.

I thought something silver would come out, and I plugged it into the gate.

With a clanking sound, the gate begins to open with a rusty metal sound.

“No, what is the symbol of ringing the doorbell when you have the key?”

The woman’s gaze was still focused on me, and she opened the front door and began entering the house.

First, let’s clean up the room.

I hurriedly move away from the window and look for an envelope nearby to put it in.

Of course, there were no pay-as-you-go bags in sight, so I picked up a convenience store bag lying around the room and roughly shoved the trash into it.

The small bag quickly became bulky, so I tied it up and put it in the trash can.

While I was picking up another bag I found and putting the trash in it, I heard the sound of the door lock on the first floor opening.

Someone entered the house, and I could hear footsteps heading towards the second floor where I was.

Although the large trash was removed to some extent, the smell that remained in the room could not be helped.

I waved my hands, trying to get the cigarette smell out, and realized that this was a meaningless action.

    The footsteps got closer.

As soon as I sensed someone outside, the door opened without warning.

A woman of similar height to me had brown hair braided down to the left.

The clothes were casual and gave the impression of a college student.

    “Smell! What is this smell?”

She frowned and looked at me.

She walked forward with long strides and opened the small window wide.

When she opened the window and there was no change, she looked back at me with a sigh, probably resigned.

    Our eyes meet.

    “Hello.”

I bowed my head and said hello to the rapidly growing awkwardness.

    “What are you doing?”

It’s a look similar to looking at a cockroach greeting you politely.

    Um… isn’t this it?

As I stood there, not knowing what to do, the woman in front of me sighed and unfolded the simple chair next to the desk.

With a clanking sound, an old makeshift chair was placed on the floor, and she sat down on it.

    “Of course I didn’t do my homework… and I certainly didn’t prepare for class…”

She took out a workbook from her backpack and monologued.

“I will talk alone for two hours like always…”

I was concerned about her muttering, so I pulled out the chair in front of the desk and sat down.

    “…?”

She frowned and looked at me as I sat in front of the desk.

I also faced her without avoiding her gaze.

    “What is this?”

She asked as if she saw something she couldn’t see.

    “Isn’t that… a class?”

    I ask back.

Her hand stopped taking the textbook out of her bag.

She tilted her head as if it were strange and brought her face closer to me.

She lifted her hand and placed it on my forehead.

A cold feeling chilled my forehead.

    “That’s strange… I don’t have a fever?”

She muttered as if she really didn’t understand.
