Chapter Index

Ray and I came down from the rooftop and arrived at the third floor.

“Chris, you can come down now.”

    “Stay still!”

I shouted at Ray without realizing it.

It’s like speaking in the same tone as when dealing with Midas.

It’s not that I don’t like Ray… it’s just that I can’t let Ray see my face and emotions right now.

“Ray, you just do whatever this older sister tells you to do!”

“My older sister used to say that a lot too….”

I was wondering who I was comparing myself to now.

But if I had thought I would be scratched to that extent, I would have been mistaken.

    ….

    ….

It’s a bit weird being treated as the same level as that pervert older sister.

“Chris, can you come down now?”

I ignored Ray’s words and moved forward, eventually arriving in front of the house.

Just as I was about to open the front door.

    Beep!

The door opened naturally and Sylvia appeared, holding Sheila.

    “Why are you so late?”

“Ah, that’s… I happened to have something to do.”

    “Let’s come in and listen.”

Even though I looked like an adult, I felt like a child in front of Sylvia.

    “What!”

As he returned to his original form, Ray quickly regained his balance before he fell to the ground.

I thought I’d give them a little trouble, but they were definitely not an easy opponent.

    I reached out to Ray.

    “Okay, let’s go.”

    “…Yeah.”

As the three of them reached the living room, one of them arrived.

A variety of cheeses were prepared in an appetizing manner.

Among them, what caught my interest were the canapés using salami and cheese.

“Oh, what is this? When did you prepare this?”

“I prepared it because you two were late.”

Cheese and salami cut into appropriate sizes were placed on crackers, and black olives were placed on top using cream cheese spread on top of the salami as an adhesive.

Besides that, I swallowed my saliva without realizing it at the sight of the abundance of sausages and breads to eat as a side dish or for dipping with cheese.

“Have all the people who were supposed to come come?”

Ilseong, dressed in plain clothes, appeared from the kitchen.

    “I guess it’s because it’s a Doberman.”

    “Yes?”

The black-haired Doberman looked great in any outfit.

Should I say it’s an innate sense of coolness?

Anyway, there were some invisible ones.

“Sheila, what about the general and Midas?”

    “I’m in Chris’s room.”

After hearing Sheila’s words while she was in Sylvia’s arms, I headed straight to my room.

    “General! Midas!”

As I entered the room, a strange sight unfolded.

The general in his true form was clinging to Midas’s back, and Midas was whining while eating the contents of the food bowl.

    “What are you guys doing?”

    “Heeelp!”

To begin with, he was trying to suck the blood of a golden golem that wasn’t even a living thing. It seemed like the general was short on blood.

    “General, Midas doesn’t bleed.”

As I spoke while taking the general off Midas’ back, the general trembled as if he was embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Midas stopped crying and focused on his work as soon as the general’s threat disappeared.

    “Midas, stop!”

    “…Why?”

The feed was good, but it couldn’t compare to the cheese party that was about to start.

I returned to the living room with Jang-Gun and Midas under my arms.

“Hey, what’s up? When did Lund come?”

“I’ve been here since a while ago.”

Was it? I don’t think so.

    ***

Anyway, all the attendees of the cheese party have gathered.

    “Ray, help me.”

“Chris, how about we eat first?”

    “Just a moment!”

Ray came running, and together we carried the bag of feed I had taken out of Mimic’s wallet’s mouth to my room.

The Mimic Wallet didn’t seem to care much about the feed bag, so it was a lot easier than usual.

    “They’re all mine?!”

“Yeah. Oh, I’m not sure if Silla and Janggun will eat it either.”

It seemed that Midas had already recognized only the previous ‘yes’ answer. This was evident just by looking at his tail, which was moving more vigorously than usual.

    “Okay, it’s all over now.”

    “Then let’s all eat now.”

The sound of people moving simultaneously around the dining table in the living room followed.

I took a few canapés and ate one myself and gave the other to Ray, who was sitting next to me.

    “How about feeding it yourself?”

    “Sylvia! Be quiet!”

…Honestly, I’ve thought about that too. But it took more courage than I thought.

“Oh, by the way, there was something I forgot to say.”

    “What do you mean?”

“Il-sung, do you know who Ray and I met on our way to buy Midas feed?”

    “…Well.”

Il-sung struggled with my question before even putting something in his mouth.

I didn’t forget to cut the Parmesan cheese myself and grab Midas before I told him the answer.

Well, even in the room, what Midas mainly consumed was feed.

But is there a difference in the different types of cheese served on the table?

And now that I think about it, I think the Parmesan cheese was that Parmesan cheese.

“Sylvia, can I put this in fondue too?”

“Well, I only put Emmental cheese in the fondue.”

When I asked, pointing to the fondue pot taking up space on the table, Sylvia looked embarrassed.

“I don’t mind if other people are okay with it.”

    “Then put it in?!”

It seems like no one agrees, but… there’s a saying that silence is affirmation.

Since everyone is silent, it means everyone agrees.

“If that’s the case, why did you ask?”

“What, Lund is the chairman so it doesn’t really matter.”

“…What does that have to do with anything?”

For once, Lund was present in his true form, not as a wolf.

I’ve always felt this way, but even though he’s the chairman, he seems to eat any kind of food well, so everyone who sees him is happy.

Even without anyone specifically asking him to, he was the type of person who knew how to eat cheese, just by looking at the food in his hand.

Corn and olives on toast, topped with cheese taken from the fondue pot.

Normally, you dip something in the cheese in the fondue pot and eat it. You don’t take it out separately and sprinkle it on bread and eat it.

“Chris, so who did you meet?”

“Do you want Ray to talk? Or should I?”

    “…I’ll do it.”

Ray, who was eating something in a hurry, hit his chest.

I patted Ray on the back accordingly.

“Brother Ilseong, on the way to the feed store from here… I met Leeman and Lena.”

    “….”

Ilseong’s expression distorted after hearing Ray’s words.

    “Still, nothing special happened!”

“Chris’s head was cut off, but…”

While trying to somehow resolve the situation, Ray dropped a bombshell.

    “Chris’s head?”

After hearing that, Sylvia and Sheila began to examine my head and neck from side to side.

“Ah, it’s okay now. You know I play fast.”

    “Youngmin, are you hurt anywhere?”

“Thanks to Chris, everything was okay.”

Yeah, the problem ended on my end.

    ***

It felt like the atmosphere of a rare cheese party was becoming a hearing for me and Ray.

But fortunately, Ilseong did not stop moving his hands toward his mouth or making chewing movements.

    “Chris is definitely strong.”

    “…Huh? Really?”

You’re suddenly doing a surprise worship here?

“I don’t know about Lena, but Lee Man is one of the stronger brothers among Youngmin’s brothers.”

“…Does Ray have any more siblings?”

I wondered if there were more than just the two, but Ilseong nodded and showed me all five fingers.

    Wow, there were five siblings!

I really hope the rest of my brothers are normal.

“But still, they cut your hair at the first meeting. You guys lack manners.”

“What I’m saying! It wasn’t me who took Ray out of that family, it was Ilseong.”

    “….”

I turned the arrow towards Ilseong… but Ilseong’s expression darkened again.

Oh, this time I made a mistake!

But then an unexpected relief pitcher appeared.

Suddenly, Midas, who had been quietly burying his head in the food bowl under the table, climbed up onto the table.

“I want to eat that too!”

Midas confidently declared his ambitions in front of everyone.

Then, all of a sudden, he started to rush towards the fondue pot with his tall body.

Sheila and Janggun, who were sitting at the table in personified form, were terrified by the sight.

    “Hey! Hey!”

I was a bit far from Midas and the fondue pot, so there was nothing I could do but shout.

In an unprecedented crisis, a golden ingredient is added to the fondue pot!

Sylvia and Ilseong quickly reached out their hands.

Il-sung held Midas while Sylvia hurriedly pushed the fondue pot aside.

    “Whew….”

“Oh, Midas, that pig! You know I’m going to get in trouble for you!”

    “Heeelp….”

You could have just asked for it! It’s not like I ever starved Midas.

It seemed like the crisis was over.

But Midas continued to whimper and rock back and forth under my threats.

    Is that why?

Ilseong lost sight of Midas for a moment.

    with a plop-!

    “….”

    “….”

    “Wow!!!”

Everyone except Midas could only watch the scene in silence.

Midas was madly inhaling the contents of the fondue pot, namely the cheese that had been double-boiled with wine.

    “Oh, that pig, really!”

I hit my forehead at that sight, and Ilseong and Ray laughed in vain, perhaps because they found that sight funny.

    “Hold still, you punk!”

Meanwhile, Lund captured Midas to prevent the damage from spreading, but it was too late.

    “Hey!”

“Thwack!” he said, grabbing Midas’ head.

But Midas didn’t show much reaction because the contents of the pot were so delicious.

While I was at it, a good idea occurred to me.

    “Ray, help me.”

“…What are you going to do?”

“Now that it’s come to this, I should give up on that pot.”

Since Midas is already in the fondue, I added some Midas food to it as well.

Then Midas wagged his tail wildly as if he was excited.

    “Eww!”

What would happen if a cheese-covered puppy’s tail were to wag at full power?

Naturally, Sheila’s screams followed, as she was within the range of the tail wagging.

    “Chris, you!”

    “…I didn’t expect this?!”

    ***

“Chris, I think you’d better put the pot down first.”

    “Okay.”

The pot containing Midas was placed on the floor.

Immediately afterwards I started wiping the cheese off Sheila’s face and clothes.

Jang-Gun-I avoided the chaos by going to the refrigerator and began savoring a pack of vampire blood.

    “This is a real mess.”

It was all because of that golden cheese bosintang.

“Midas, stay there until we finish eating. Okay?”

    “Yes!”

The answers were so good. So good that it was annoying.

“But luckily the rest of the food was fine.”

    “…What a blessing in disguise.”

The fondue was just part of the cheese party.

I savored the mixture of various ingredients including brick cheese.

    “Um… It’s a shame there’s no alcohol.”

“It’s still too early for Chris to drink.”

“Huh? Is it okay for me to drink?”

Sylvia still seemed to think of me as a one-year-old girl.

“It’s more delicious to just eat cheese than to drink alcohol.”

“That’s because Sheila is still young.”

Sheila puffed out her cheeks when she heard what I said.

How delicious is wine paired with cheese?

Since there was wine in the cheese fondue… should I count it as drinking alcohol?

“Should I get it from the bar?”

“Chris, why don’t you just be satisfied with what you have here?”

    “Hmm….”

When I actually tried to move, I felt lazy.

There was a monk in the real world who once said, “Don’t follow your heart, but be the master of your heart.”

But it wasn’t as easy as it sounds.

“I think it would be better to do as Sylvia said. And I agree that it is too early for Chris to drink.”

It seemed like Ilseong was treating me like a child, following Sylvia.

“Huh? Why are you like this! I’m over twenty years old!”

    “…What does that mean?”

    “Oh, Sylvia.”

Ray whispered hurriedly in Sylvia’s ears.

Separate from the results of the previous examination at the Silverside office, my mental age is over twenty years.

    “…?”

Of course, Sylvia didn’t seem to believe it.

“How can a single year old be this mature and smart?!”

“…Wouldn’t it have been possible if it was a bloodline?”

“Hey, no! It’s a bit of a special case, but I’m really over twenty!”

    “….”

Sylvia then put her hand on my forehead.

    “There’s no fever, you know.”

    “Oh, really!”

    “Just kidding. Just kidding.”

    Sylvia answered with a smile.

“Well, as long as Chris isn’t older than me, I’m fine with it.”

    “Why is that?”

“Then you can’t call her my daughter.”

    “Huh?”

    Sylvia Radomir, Chris Radomir.

I used to use Sylvia’s last name.

“I… honestly thought there would be more than that.”

    “Why? Because I’m a bloodline?”

“Even the person who is here right now is in that situation.”

At Ilseong’s words, our attention was focused on Lund.

“What? I’ll say it again, I’m on the younger side among vampires. I’m not an old hag.”

    “What the hell?”

    “No way!”

    ***

Looking at Lund’s violent reaction, it seemed that he himself had some self-esteem about being older.

    Anyway, our cheese party continued.

Although, in the middle, Midas kept trying to get out of the cheese pot, so I had to take him to the bathroom and wash him.

    “Okay, now it’s fluffy.”

    “Chris… I’m sorry.”

    “Okay, okay.”

This troublemaker knows how to apologize. That’s a huge step forward.

When I returned to the living room with Midas, everyone was talking about this and that.

What I didn’t expect here was… Ray suddenly mentioning his relationship with me.

“Brother, I have a girlfriend too.”

    “…?”

It was the same reaction as when Midas fell into the fondue pot.

The quick-witted people immediately turned their gaze to me, and I quickly covered my face with both hands.

No, I don’t intend to deny it, but it’s a bit embarrassing to reveal it in a place like this!

Soon I turned into a baby bat and escaped to Sylvia’s chest.

“There are many other places, so why there?”

    “Because it’s soft?”

Sylvia reacted as if she was dumbfounded by my answer.

Meanwhile, Ilseong said with a complicated expression that he supported my relationship with Ray.

“Hey, shut up and eat some cheese! I know you can’t go home until you eat all the cheese in here!”

“I want to eat it too!”

    “Eww! Don’t come up!”

It wasn’t meant for Midas, but it ended up provoking him.

A cheese party that really started with Midas and ended with Midas…? No, maybe we should call this a cheese commotion.

As the night deepened, Ilseong and Ray left the hideout building.

Sylvia suggested that the two of them sleep together, and Ray seemed to want to do the same. But Ilseong refused.

I thought it might have had something to do with the other people in the office not being able to come.

    “Ray! See you tomorrow!”

    “…Yeah!”

I greeted Ray so he wouldn’t be too upset.

I don’t remember much about what happened after that.

    I didn’t even drink alcohol.

‘Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you the most important thing.’

I forgot to mention that I might soon be ranked 10th in problem solving.

Well, can we talk about it later?

    So the next morning.

The warm morning sunlight streaming in through the window and the squeaking sound coming from my body as the sunlight touches it.

My body was getting used to it, but I felt good.

It’s not like I’m a pervert with strange tastes like Ray’s older sister. Even though I’m a vampire, I was originally human.

It was clearly different from the case of being born a vampire.

    “Wow… It’s warm.”

Now that the cheese party was over, all that was left was to get promoted to intermediate problem solver.
