Chapter Index

[ Ah! Aaah! Baby, baby! ]

She instinctively sensed the deaths of her children, the spirits, as one or two perished. Feeling powerless as her children died, she was on the brink of madness.

If she went completely mad, she would become a dangerous being akin to a monster, devouring other spirits like maggots.

Thus, she had to hold onto a single point of reason tightly. Enduring the pain as if her body was being torn apart, she held on and on until she was saved, but she couldn’t maintain her sanity.

    Kugugung, crack!

The powerful energy she emitted shook the space. Lian lowered her body with the demon sword planted on the ground.

    Creak, crack.

The ornate chandelier hanging from the ceiling swayed back and forth. The light illuminating the room trembled together like a scene from a horror movie. Lian looked up to see the spirit mother emitting a fierce aura.

    “Hmm, what should I do?”

    [ Huh, quite… tolerable. ]

Lian was taken aback by the excited spirit’s appearance and admired the spirit that appeared with a splendid performance.

    Whoosh!

In the meantime, a whirlwind of dark power began to swirl around the spirit’s body. Unlike magic, a different force, the power of the dark spirit, condensed into a torso-like form. There seemed to be at least dozens of them, making it hard to see the spirit clearly.

    “Can Gargando subdue without harm?”

[ Spirits are reborn even if they die. So just comfortably kill them off. ]

“That won’t do. We promised to take them away properly.”

Just before the demon sword’s response, the rough air that was tumultuous suddenly calmed down. A stormy atmosphere was set.

    Sizzle.

Dozens of structures pulsed like hearts around the spirit before pouring towards Lian.

    Kwahng! Kuwoong! Kwajijik!

Lian quickly rolled her body to evade the pouring attacks. Like guided missiles, subsequent attacks followed her.

    Kwangaang! Kwajik! Kugugung!

With very small intervals, vicious attacks fell where Lian had passed. From Lian’s perspective, the spirit could do nothing but dodge since it couldn’t harm her directly.

Designed solely to seek more blood, the demon sword’s functions were geared towards causing harm. Hence, the technique of ‘subduing without harm’ was an unimaginable skill for the demon sword.

As the demon sword pondered a solution, lost in thought, Lian evaded the attacks like dancing.

The issue was that the dance resembled not the dignified dances of nobles but rather a bit tacky and drug-induced movement.

Just as Mia (the dark magician who was shocked by seeing the chessboard) had bent her waist in a C shape to avoid attacks, she twisted her body like stepping and stretching.

    “Uddeud… Sionta.”

In the middle, a black structure tied to a comedy filter stopped in mid-air, creating a bizarre scene of Lian doing gymnastics.

If the spirit had enough reason to perceive the strange sight, they would have been completely bewildered and regained their senses.

Even without reason, if the opponent evaded all attacks like a cockroach, it was inevitable to change the attack strategy. Instinctively, the spirit ceased sending the dark whirlwinds.

    “Ah…”

Lian raised her head to look straight at the revealed spirit once again.

Unlike young spirits, she had a strikingly human appearance with hair cascading down to her waist, eyes filled with anger, and an expression brimming with vitality. Her beautiful appearance, akin to that of a spirit, was overshadowed by her enormous chest.

Seeing the cloth pieces covering the massive chest to the point where thoughts of ferocity arose, Lian’s mind momentarily blanked out.

Without missing a beat, the spirit swiftly summoned a sword made of dark power into her hand and rushed towards Lian. If long-range attacks didn’t work, the only option was to approach and strike directly.

In the moment she fiercely swung the sword to cut Lian’s neck as she gazed at herself with a vacant expression…

Facing the imposing chest that came right up to her nose, Lian involuntarily thought of someone.

    “…Mom?”

Due to the laws of the comedic world, important details were not closely examined, but one could still confirm the size and shape even when wearing clothes.

Lian could confidently assert that she had never seen anyone with a chest as large as her mother’s until now.

The grandeur she had thought was unique to her mother made her involuntarily utter “mom” in reflex.

Belatedly coming to her senses, Lian found the spirit’s sword dangerously close to her face. She internally screamed in terror.

Reattaching a detached head is quite difficult. While reattaching the head, the body is left defenseless. If attacked while vulnerable, recovery would take a long time.

Putting together the fragmented body was as tedious and time-consuming as solving a 100-piece puzzle. Lian did not want to bother with such tedious tasks.

“Why are you just standing there, Gargandoa!”

In such a perilous situation where her trusted demon sword remained idle, Lian’s face turned blotchy with confusion.

Before hearing the entirety of the demon sword’s response, a white light flashed, and everything went dark before her eyes.

    “Ugh!”

A soft and warm yet suffocating mass covered Lian’s face.

“Attacking an opponent who has lost consciousness is an ‘uncool’ move.”

With the demon sword’s response, a heavy blow sent her body tumbling backward. Contrary to the expectation of rolling on the ground, her body floated gently. Simultaneously, the darkness covering her face dissipated.

    “Wha-what?”

Lian let out a bewildered sound as she rolled her eyes to follow the sudden change. Her face was turned sideways, half-buried between the spirit’s chest, floating in mid-air with some force. The back of her head and neck were being patted by the spirit, holding her in a gentle embrace.

As she rolled her eyes a bit more to look up, the fierce spirit had disappeared, leaving only the ‘spirit mother’ with a compassionate expression.

    “My child, my child…”

Spirits can sense the power of words. Even in a state where rationality was almost absent, they could discern whether Lian’s uttered “mom” was directed towards her real mother or not.

Recalling her real mother, Lian sincerely spoke those words, leading the spirit to mistakenly believe Lian was her offspring. As a result, she received consolation… no, affectionate pats.

After enduring five minutes of tender patting, Lian finally came to her senses. Belatedly trying to escape from her embrace, she found the spirit smiling gently like a mother accommodating a child’s tantrum, sticking close to her shoulder without letting go.

    “…!”

The pressure felt from the back of the head caused Lian to tense up again. He almost let go of the demon sword by mistake. The spirit’s chest held such a terrifying power.

Lian desperately tried to regain his composure.

    “This, this is… Yes, it’s Mom’s… It’s Mom’s chest. Because it’s Mom’s chest, pull yourself together.”

Surprisingly, that thought settled well. The two mothers(?) were similar in size, and the current situation was quite familiar. Lian’s mother always had the habit of clinging to Lian’s shoulders and whining after coming home from work.

Thanks to that experience, Lian managed to hold on to his composure.

“Phew… Anyway, since things seem to have ended well, I should quickly get out of here.”

Lian tried to leave with the spirit still attached to his back. At that moment, a familiar spirit flew in from outside the door.

    “A bearded man is coming!”

The spirit hurriedly flew towards Lian but upon seeing his mother’s figure, it displayed a surprised expression.

    “M-Mother…”

Approaching his mother with a trembling voice, she reached out and caressed the young spirit as it clung to her shoulder, whimpering.

As the young spirit was smaller than a one-year-old baby, it couldn’t embrace the spirit mother who was 2 meters tall, so it clung to the edge of her shoulder.

    “First, let’s hide.”

Realizing who the opponent was, it would be easier to attack, so despite the torn end from the spirit’s attack, he hid behind the curtain separating the room and the laboratory.

    Thud! Thud! Thud!

Before long, rough footsteps could be heard outside, and a disheveled man emerged gasping for breath through the broken door after the spirit’s attack.

“Ugh, damn… My, my experiment subject!”

Upon seeing the empty place where the spirit mother and the Dark Spirit King were trapped, he let out a sobbing sound.

“No, no. Am I really going to fail here?”

He muttered as he approached a desk that had collapsed in half. Then, he retrieved a bag stuck on one side and swiftly began gathering research-related documents from the drawer.

“As long as there are results, I can start over. First, I need to leave this place and head to the Demon Castle. If there are results… Yes, if I have this, Lord Ervoan will surely write it clearly.”

He muttered like a madman, preparing to perform CPR on his failed stock right in front of him. After making sure he had all the documents, he hastily tried to leave the room with the bag slung over his hip.

    “Wait.”

At that moment, Lian walked out from behind the curtain and looked at the man. Startled, the man shivered and turned around.
