I Became the Academy’s Female Delinquent Chapter 26. A Terrible Coincidence

Having caught the unconscious Elsie and Doyun, Thrud steeled herself and inhaled deeply.

    “Haa! Alright!”

Now that things had turned out this way, she intended to clean everything up before Elsie and Doyun woke up.

First, she needed to move them.

She couldn’t just leave the unconscious patients outside or in the ruined first floor.

So, carrying the two of them, Thrud strode up to Elsie’s room on the second floor and hesitated with a reluctant expression.

“Even if they’re unconscious patients, leaving Doyun with Elsie is… a bit much.”

Her mind knew there was no other choice, but her heart wouldn’t allow it, so she hesitated for a moment before finally making a decision.

“There’s no other way right now! Hmph!”

Thrud gently laid Elsie on the bed and roughly dumped Han Doyun next to her.

“If you do anything weird to Elsie, I’ll throw you into the Muspelheim volcano!”

Thrud, having threatened Doyun, who was unconscious and couldn’t hear her, slammed the door shut and left.

Now she had to hand over those thugs to the guard, which meant leaving the house.

However, the house, which already barely had a door, now truly had none.

The shattered door couldn’t be reattached.

“…It’s a little unsettling to just leave.”

What if, just in case, another thug or hoodlum broke into Elsie’s house while she was gone?

Elsie, who had been weakened by using her powers repeatedly today, could be in danger.

Thrud imagined the terrible threats against Elsie and broke out in a cold sweat.

As she pondered a solution, she squeezed her eyes shut and then opened them.

    “That’s it…”

Then, as if she had made up her mind, her golden eyes sparkled.

She had come up with an idea to protect Elsie until she returned from the guardhouse.

Thrud went out into the yard for a moment and unleashed her power.

Golden energy began to gather around her.

    “Armor Summon: Gauntlets of Power!”

    Thud-!

However, Thrud, who had summoned the Gauntlets of Power, didn’t stop there.

She gathered her strength once more.

    “Armor Enhancement: Járngreipr!”

    _Patzitzitz-!!_

    Lightning flashed before her eyes.

Energy condensed again and began to gather in the Gauntlets of Power.

Then came a spherical golden shockwave.

Thrud’s tied-up light pink hair fluttered wildly.

    Crackle! Crackle-!

The Gauntlets of Power on her hands had transformed into the thunder god’s iron gloves, Járngreipr, crackling with lightning.

The intricate gauntlets, engraved with blue flashing runes of power, gleamed in the moonlight.

    “Perfect.”

Thrud, satisfied with Járngreipr, clenched her fist tightly.

Then, lightning sparked and scorched the innocent floor.

She intended to leave these lightning-crackling gauntlets, Járngreipr, on Elsie’s door.

That way, any intruder would be shocked by lightning just by touching the door.

    “This is perfect!”

Thrud, excitedly running to Elsie’s door and attaching Járngreipr, smiled contentedly.

Since it was armor that no one but her could touch, there was no better security measure.

A minor problem was that the person inside could also be shocked if they touched the door…

“They’re both unconscious and groggy, what could possibly happen?”

Thinking nothing of it, Thrud dragged the thugs away towards the guardhouse.

    \*

A pleasant fragrance tickled Doyun’s nose, and he opened his eyes.

A weathered old wall was vaguely visible at the edge of his vision, and an unfamiliar ceiling greeted him.

    “Where is this…”

He was on an unfamiliar bed.

He remembered moving the captured thugs into the house and setting out to test the necklace that Elsie had taken out.

“Thrud was supposed to knock me out if things went wrong…”

He vaguely remembered the necklace, which was so beautiful it could be called a sacred object.

He also began to recall Elsie carefully putting on the necklace.

Suddenly feeling strange, Doyun sat up.

He covered his face with his hands and sighed deeply.

    “Hoo-”

Elsie, already in a lighter blouse than usual, looked quite dangerous.

When she raised her arm to put on the necklace and swept back her long silver hair, her white neck was shyly revealed.

His gaze traveled past her slender neck, along her delicate jawline, and to her full lips.

He must have already been charmed by the necklace then.

He didn’t know what happened after that, but if Thrud had knocked him out, it meant the necklace had worked.

In other words, things had gone well.

Shaking his head to dispel his vain fantasies, Doyun began to examine the room.

A dim space with only faint moonlight coming through the skylight.

    “Elsie’s room… I guess?”

It was an old room that made him forget for a moment that it belonged to a girl his age.

He lived alone too, but he didn’t live this shabbily.

A sense of unease washed over him rather than excitement.

Then, it suddenly occurred to him that the bed he was lying on might be Elsie’s, and his heart began to race uncontrollably.

‘This is not the time, I need to assess the situation.’

    Where were Elsie and Thrud?

Had they dealt with the thugs properly?

    Worry began to creep in.

Doyun reached out to get out of bed.

    Squish-

    “Squish?”

    “Ugh-”

    Someone’s uncomfortable groan.

Doyun’s eyes narrowed at the warm, soft sensation on his palm.

Recognizing what he had touched with his innate vision, he tumbled out of bed in a panic.

    “Ugh!”

    Thud!

Elsie was sleeping like the dead right next to him.

Trembling, Doyun looked down at the hand that had been on Elsie’s stomach for a moment, then looked at Elsie, who was still asleep without moving.

    “I-if Elsie’s here… where did Thrud go?”

Elsie, asleep in the moonlight, was as beautiful as a doll, making it hard to look away.

Even so, this was not the time for that.

Regaining his senses and touching his neck with a complicated feeling, Doyun got up and headed for the door.

He needed to check if the situation had been properly resolved.

‘If Thrud took care of the aftermath, there’s no need to worry, but…’

It was a little awkward to be in the same room with Elsie, who was fast asleep.

In the first place, why had they been thrown onto the same bed in the same room?

Considering how much Thrud cared for Elsie, it was hard to understand.

    “…Was there no other way?”

Elsie’s house, which was already in bad shape due to the thugs’ raid, had become even more of a mess.

Considering that, there was probably nowhere else to put two unconscious people.

Having finished his reasoning, Doyun grabbed the doorknob without thinking and tried to leave.

    Pazik-!

As soon as he grabbed the handle, a sudden spark flew out.

    “Huh? What is th-…”

Blue lightning emanating from the door struck Doyun.

    Pazijijijik-!!

    “Aaaaaaah!!!”

Startled by the shocking impact, Doyun jumped and rolled away.

Unable to control his tense body, he ended up colliding with an old cabinet in the corner of the room.

    Crash!

The old cabinet couldn’t withstand Doyun’s physical assault and shattered.

Elsie’s clothes, which had burst out of the cabinet, rained down on Doyun, who was blinking and collapsed.

“E-electricity is coming out of the door?”

Was it some kind of new security feature?

If so, it was a complete failure since it shocked the person trying to leave.

    “T-this is…”

    This was not good.

Not only had he taken up the bed, but he had also accidentally groped the sleeping Elsie, and now he was covered in Elsie’s clothes like a human clothes rack.

At this rate, he was no different from a pervert.

Staggering to his feet, Doyun grabbed the desk next to him to steady himself.

    Crack-!

    “?!”

    Thud!

The desk, as old as the cabinet, couldn’t bear Doyun’s weight, and its legs broke, causing it to collapse.

Losing his balance, Doyun slammed his face into the floor.

It was just a terrible coincidence that Elsie’s skirt happened to be there.

    A truly terrible coincidence.

The impact caused a large full-length mirror to sway.

    “What the… I’m having such bad luck…”

It was the moment Doyun staggered to his feet again and raised his head.

    Bang-!!

    “Cough!”

The swaying full-length mirror fell and hit Doyun on the head.

Feeling his head cave in, he collapsed to the floor once more.

    The fallen full-length mirror.

The desk with its broken legs.

Amidst the fragments of the cabinet, nearly 90% of which had been destroyed,

Han Doyun lay covered in Elsie’s spare school uniform.

Could there be another case of such terrible luck?

The last remaining skeleton of the cabinet collapsed.

At the same time, the underwear drawer, which had been precariously hanging on until the end, began to slide out.

And the fact that it happened to land in Doyun’s hand-

Everything was just a terrible coincidence.

Amidst the chaos of nearly everything in the room being smashed to pieces, Elsie struggled to open her eyes.

The noise was far too loud to possibly sleep through.

“Ugh… Did the house collapse or something? Why is it so noisy…”

With a face full of fatigue, Elsie groaned as she sat up, yawning gracefully.

“Haa… Just let me get some sleep… This is seriously the worst day…”

After rubbing her eyelids, which couldn’t bear the tiredness, Elsie moved her head from side to side and slowly tilted her head.

All of the room’s meager furniture was completely destroyed.

    “…Is this a dream?”

As if trying to deny reality, Elsie rubbed her eyes and squinted as she examined the room again.

    Nothing had changed.

The furniture she had grown attached to, though it had only been a few days, was completely smashed without exception.

Barely managing to steady her staggering body, Elsie slowly approached the scene of destruction.

    “Tsk-”

Elsie barely suppressed a curse as her gaze moved towards the human figure sprawled on the floor.

How on earth could someone end up like that?

Black hair peeked out from between her spare school uniforms.

That alone was enough to tell her who the absurd human figure was.

    “Is he really crazy…”

She wanted to wake him up and hear his excuses.

It was such a shocking sight that it made her forget the fatigue from energy consumption.

Elsie put her hand on her forehead and looked at Han Doyun with a pathetic expression, then flinched.

“Why, why is he keeping only that so carefully… Shit, seriously!”

The drawer where the items she had been handling most carefully since being possessed were stored.

Han Doyun was holding it in his hand.

Elsie was troubled about how to deal with him.

‘Pervert? Furniture destroyer? Madman? Underwear thief?’

    “Tch.”

Elsie glared at the drawer containing her underwear in Han Doyun’s hand as if it were her enemy, then turned away, her face flushed.

It didn’t look like it could be salvaged at all.

“I need to cool my head outside.”

Elsie reached for the doorknob, idly thinking that she would rather beat the truth out of him than use Brísingamen.

    Zzzt!

    The door sparked briefly.

    “Huh?”

The moment Elsie tilted her head and looked at the doorknob,

A powerful blue electric shock struck Elsie.

    Pzzzzz-!!

    “Ugyagyak-!!”

Exposed to the electric shock in an unguarded state, Elsie fainted.

The temporary security device devised by Thrud was certainly effective.
