Chapter Index

    “Jeff!”

I wave my arms at the faint voice coming from my ear.

I felt a small, soft flesh hit my arm and fall off.

But it didn’t give up and clung to me once again, shaking my body.

    “Umm. Rain.”

I got up from my seat, rubbed my eyes, and looked ahead to see Rain sitting on top of me with an anxious expression on his face.

The cool morning air rushes in through the open terrace door.

The chilly wind made my body naturally curl up.

    “Jeff! He’s out! He’s out! ”

I sat down next to Rain, who was fussing, and adjusted my half-naked pajamas.

Did you have a dream while you were sleeping?

Somehow I felt like I was sweating.

    “Yeah. What came out?”

At my question, Rain jumped out of bed and ran to the terrace.

“Over there! Over there! There’s someone coming out of the building!”

At Rain’s words, I hurried to the terrace railing.

A street at dawn where pitch-black silence has descended.

The streetlights shining above allowed Rain to see who he was talking about.

“Are you sure it really came out?”

“Ugh! He just came out and is walking over there!”

In the direction that Rain’s hand pointed, a person wearing a coat was walking slowly.

The walking speed was not fast.

I thought it would be enough to change my clothes and jump down, so I quickly started changing my clothes.

I take off my pajamas, which have somehow become sticky, and put on the clothes I wore in the morning.

Rain also started changing his clothes following me.

Finally, I put on my coat and went out onto the terrace.

My hair fluttered in the cool breeze.

“Jump, are you going to jump?”

“Yeah, I think I’ll miss it if I take the elevator.”

I climbed straight up onto the railing.

A strong wind shook her body, but the smile on her lips did not disappear.

It’s been a while since I’ve done something like this.

Rain followed me and climbed up next to me.

    “Shall we go?”

As he said that, he threw himself lightly.

A strong wind blew across my cheek, making the hem of my coat and my hair rise.

I hugged the rain that was getting further and further away.

I was really glad that it was dawn now.

The black coat blended perfectly into the dark dawn sky.

After flying a long distance, the moment you reach the opposite building, you turn your body.

I step on the outer wall of the building with my feet, matching my body that has turned half a turn.

And at that moment, a stream of rain burst out at my feet.

The transparent stream of water began to flow downwards like a slide.

I was able to slide down the street using the slide that Rain had made.

My shoes got a little wet, but it was a success.

    “Thank you, Rain.”

I thanked Lane and started following him.

The person Rain had pointed out was walking down the street with a leisurely gait.

Is this really the person who came out of the S Construction building?

“Jeff. What if you run away again like before?”

    “Hmm.”

I began to ponder Rain’s words.

And at that moment, as if he had overheard our conversation, the person who had been following us started running.

Similar to yesterday’s movement, I ran out in a hurry.

It’s fortunate that it’s dawn now.

I was able to change the direction of the surveillance cameras filming the streets, but I couldn’t fool people’s eyes, so I wasn’t using my ability. But in this time zone, it was a different story.

    Phagecic-!

Blue lightning spreads out from the body, decorating the black sky.

The angles of the cameras installed everywhere are distorted, making it impossible to capture me and Rain.

    “Jeff! Over there!”

I turned my gaze forward at Rain’s words.

The person we were chasing suddenly turned and headed into an alley.

The person I was following earlier had also disappeared from there.

There’s no way I can miss it anymore.

    I quickly flew away.

    Phagejik-

The body wrapped in blue electricity accelerates.

The body, shot quickly, arrives at the entrance of the alley in an instant.

Now was not the time to be picky.

I raised my hand and looked at the back of the head of the person running ahead.

    Phagejik-

The blue electricity gathered at the tip of his finger created a large ripple and shot out at the opponent in front of him.

    “Eww!”

The opponent who was hit by the blue lightning rolled on the ground.

He fell down while running, and lost the bag he was holding.

A briefcase that had been flying high into the sky fell to the floor, scattering the documents inside in all directions.

I sighed in relief at the sight.

After putting Rain on the ground, she took a sign out of her bag that said [Under Construction] and spread it out at the entrance to the alley.

I slowly approached the opponent who was lying on the floor and trembling.

Why on earth did you run away?

I picked up the documents scattered on the floor and started looking through them.

The document contained the blueprints of a building and the area where it was to be installed.

From zone 20 to zone 10.

A plan to build identical buildings everywhere, without exception.

I frowned as I checked the documents.

The same construction was underway not only in Districts 15 and 14, but also in other places.

    “Hey, sir.”

    “Heeek!”

The man who was lying on the floor groaning screamed as if he was terrified by my call.

    I sighed at the sight.

    “What building is this?”

Even if you check through the documents, you can only see the exterior of the building, and it does not say what the building’s role is.

The finished form of the building was a tower.

    Black top.

    tower?

    Building a tower?

Just a plain tower with no special features?

That too in a lower area?

Who would waste money like this?

But the other person didn’t answer my question.

He just sat there with his eyes tightly shut, mumbling.

    I’m scared.

    Someone else, not me.

The moment I thought that, an unfamiliar movement was captured in the electric field that had been spread out.

A black shadow gliding towards me.

    Movements like a big cat.

And even the faint scent of raspberry lingers.

The shadow that quickly approached waved its hand at me.

The body reacts to a light, yet sharp attack.

I take a step back to dodge the attack, and this time the other hand flies in.

This time it’s a little faster.

The moment I realized the attack and pulled back, my hand showed a strange movement and broke.

The hand that swung around with a whoosh snatched the documents I was holding.

    I frowned and distanced myself.

By keeping the distance like that, I was able to clearly see the opponent’s appearance.

A woman with long black hair.

She was looking at me with her red glowing eyes.

    Familiar atmosphere, familiar faces.

    My cat suddenly disappeared.

It was the moment when a cat that had run away from home showed up after 7 years.

    “Ahh! Cat!”

Raindo seemed to recognize Prin as he raised his hand and shouted.

    “Long time no see.”

    “Princess…”

Prin smiled at me once and then started picking up the papers that had fallen on the floor.

I opened my mouth as I watched the scene.

“Is that the guy who took over the company Prin?”

“Me? No way. I’m still a minor?”

Prin answered lightly and picked up the briefcase that had fallen on the floor.

Then he spoke to the man who was lying on the floor, groaning.

    “Useless thing…”

    Cold eyes and cold words.

My hands trembled at the sight of the cold cat I had never seen before.

The man who had been receiving cold stares from Prin suddenly burst into white foam and lost consciousness.

White, rolled-back eyes and a trembling body.

It seemed that the person he was afraid of was Prin.

Prin looked down at the sight and sighed.

“Senior. Aren’t you going to listen to me?”

    “Hey, Sister?”

“Yes. Senior Shine said he came to see you, didn’t he? ”

When I hesitated and couldn’t answer, Prin tilted his head and continued speaking.

“Hmm. Didn’t you say you told me not to look for you? ”

    “Well, then…”

“Yes, that’s right. It belongs to Shine’s senior from this company. The actual owner is someone else, though…”

Prince said that and laughed lightly.

But it didn’t feel light to me at all.

I was so shocked that I couldn’t say anything.

“I changed the name to S Construction for easier understanding. This is all a message to Senior Jeff.”

    “Okay, wait a minute, Prin…!”

After saying that, Prin turned around.

The black cat no longer listened to me.

He glanced at me for a moment, then flew over the building.

I bit my lip at the sight of Prince disappearing in an instant.

Absolutely, absolutely could not miss it.

    “Rain!”

I held Rain in my arms and jumped up onto the building.

Stepping from wall to wall, he reached the roof of the building, where the black cat was gliding like a shadow, advancing into the darkness.

    “Kitty!”

Rain also started using his powers because he didn’t want to let go of the cat.

The transparent water streams gathered in one place and created a large shape.

It flew into the cat, swimming in the air as if it were a living creature.

That was the moment when Rain’s attack was about to reach the cat.

A strange black space appeared above the black sky, and the cat disappeared into it.

    “Warp…!”

    It was a warp ability.

    I was convinced by this.

Now, Prince was with Shine, and the Resistance was with Shine as well.

The warp that swallowed Prin disappeared in an instant.

    “The cat is gone!”

I landed where Prin had disappeared and sighed.

    I missed it.

Rain, who had landed on the ground, started running around, looking for a place where Prin could hide.

But, even if you search like that, you won’t find the printer.

I sighed and hugged Rain again.

I immediately took out my cell phone.

It’s rude to make a phone call this early in the morning.

So I decided to leave a message.

    Right to my grandfather.

My grandfather was weak to my requests.

So, it was clear that this request would be granted as well.

    I told my grandfather everything.

From the fact that the company called S Construction belongs to Shine, to the fact that she is building a strange building.

And he confessed everything, even telling her not to look for him.

    I added finally.

[Please stop all construction work of S Construction.]

After sending that message, I sat on the edge of the building with Rain and watched the sun rise.

    How much time has passed?

A phone call came in from my grandfather.

[Jeff. Are you saying that we should just interfere with S Construction?]

As soon as I picked up the phone, my grandfather’s voice came flying in.

    I swallowed and answered.

    “Yes. Please.”

    [I get it.]

    That ended the call.

“What did the old man say?”

    “Just saying you understand…?”

I looked at my phone screen with a blank expression.

    Is this the end?

I thought he was going to ask for more details, but his answer was so simple.

Grandpa didn’t mention Shine this time either.

    The question was also strange.

If I think back to the old days when he used to care for Shine and me, there was no way my grandfather wouldn’t mention Shine.

I got up from my seat with a sad face.

I thought you would listen to me right away if I asked, but that didn’t seem to be the case.

The moment I thought that, a black shadow appeared in the sky.

    Doo doo doo doo doo-

My body tenses at the sound of a propeller heard from afar.

The shadow’s identity was a helicopter.

Dozens of helicopters flying in from all directions created wind as they flew far away.

    “Helicopter!”

    “Yeah.”

Lane jumped up from his seat and shouted at the helicopter.

I answered Rain’s question and checked the markings on the helicopter.

The mark, which resembled a roaring silver lion, was clearly that of the Ferman family.

    Grandpa started to move.

It’s not that you didn’t listen to my request.

Even before I made the call, people were moving.
