Chapter Index

A cold sweat ran down my back.

Rain and Shine’s faces turned pale as if they were thinking the same thing as me.

Less than 10 minutes after I told him to wait quietly, he started causing trouble.

If Amy finds out about this situation, it won’t end well.

    Woof woof!

Chuchu pushed my thigh as if he had to quickly get rid of the glass shards.

    I moved quickly.

First, I ran to the door and locked it so no one could come in. Then, I picked up the shards of glass on the floor and tied them tightly with a handkerchief.

    “Oh, what should I do…”

Rain sat on the floor, clutching his head, as if the nightmare of Honey Chestnut had already come to mind.

I felt like I had a headache like her.

The place where a wart will form is already itching.

Shine approached the broken window with a calm expression.

When I looked to see what she was doing, I saw that she had taken out some scotch tape from her bag and was starting to stick it to the broken spot.

    “Sha, shine?”

“Just in case, just in case. Because it’s transparent…”

Trembling hands create a window using transparent tape.

That didn’t mean the broken window could be hidden.

    Yes, that’s right.

Although he was pretending to be calm, Shine was also flustered.

A choice she would never have made if she were her usual self.

Shine stared blankly at the window she had completed, her mouth open.

Although I used transparent tape, it was a different color from the window.

    Of course it was noticeable.

But still, the broken shape could be hidden.

At a glance, one might think it was simply tape stuck to a window.

Shine, who had been blankly staring out the window, nodded as if she had made up her mind about something and opened her mouth.

    “Jeff. Lane. And Chuchu.”

    “Ugh!”

    Woof woof!

“How long do you think it will take for Amy to come back…?”

I looked at Rain at Shine’s words.

Rain and I both shook our heads at the same time.

Judging from the fact that he had simply gone to see his grandfather for work, it didn’t seem like he would be coming back any time soon.

“I have to fix this window before Amy gets back…”

“Uh, how do I fix it?”

“Find a window that is exactly like this window…”

    “Find it…?”

“Take out the window in that window and replace it here.”

“But then what will the person who took it do?”

“We’ve never been in that room.”

I looked astonished at Shine’s words.

    Shine’s plan was absolutely perfect.

I guess my sister isn’t something just anyone can do?

Chuchu twirled his tail wildly in admiration of her very clever idea.

    “Good idea!”

As Rain nodded in admiration, Shine said.

“There’s no time. Everyone is scattered and looking for something like this window.”

The three of us, no, the four of us including Chuchu, nodded and left the room.

And so the window repair operation began.

My grandfather’s surname was very broad.

It would have been a waste of time if we all went around together, so we had to split up and search for them.

I walked down the hallway and down the stairs.

    Knock knock!

Descend an entire floor in just three jumps.

The dress I was wearing was a little bit in the way, but I didn’t have time to care.

Although the castle’s interior design had changed significantly, the basic structure was the same, so I didn’t do anything stupid like get lost.

    bang!

I run down the hallway, open the closed door and look inside.

After a quick look around, I immediately leave the room.

Time was pressing, there was no time to hesitate.

    Phagejik-

Raise your abilities and activate your body.

Running down the hallway, engulfed in blue lightning.

I scan the room at a speed incomparable to before.

But even after scanning the entire floor, I couldn’t find a design that matched the windows used in Shine and my room.

    That room was special.

It was a room that my grandfather had prepared with great care.

There wasn’t a single chair there that didn’t pass grandfather’s inspection.

As we run through the hallways at overwhelming speed, the servants who were moving various objects fall down in surprise.

If it were a normal situation, I would have apologized, but now I had to spare even that time.

    does not exist.

    does not exist.

    doesn’t exist!

As time went by, I felt more and more impatient.

    I felt uneasy.

    I felt afraid.

It felt like Amy was already standing behind me.

    “Heh- heh-.”

    Stop and catch your breath.

I’ve searched all the places assigned to me.

So the conclusion is: It doesn’t exist here.

I walked weakly up the stairs to my room with Shine.

    Woof woof!

Chuchu, who arrived first and was waiting, welcomed me.

I touched Chuchu’s nape with a listless gesture.

A faint smile returns to my face at the soft feeling.

“Chuchuya. What should I do? If I keep going like this, Amy will scold me.”

Chuchu stuck out his big tongue at my words and licked my cheek.

Although the sticky texture was a little unpleasant, I didn’t avoid it because of the kind heart that comforted me.

Chuchu’s large tongue continued to move.

Lick lick lick- Only after my face was covered in slobber did Chuchu let me go.

He sat back and looked strangely satisfied.

    “Ugh-.”

As I took a handkerchief out of my pocket and wiped my face, I could see Shine and Rain coming up from the end of the hallway.

At that moment, my eyes opened wide.

Rain was running towards me, holding a large glass in both hands.

    Clear glass.

    It was definitely glass.

It seemed like Rain had discovered it.

    “Jeff!”

I also answered with my arms wide open as I saw Rain running towards me with a bright smile.

    “Rain!”

    Thank goodness. I’m really thankful.

I couldn’t get in trouble for this.

There was no question as to where he found it.

    We’ve never been there anyway.

    I quickly opened the door.

Rain holding the glass goes right into it.

After making sure that Chuchu and Shine followed them in, I went in as well and closed the door.

    “Hoo-.”

I breathed a sigh of relief.

The biggest problem has been solved.

Now, if I replace that glass, nothing happens.

Rain carefully placed the glass he was holding on the floor.

Then he looked at me and Shine with shining eyes.

    I waited.

I wish Rain would change that glass for me.

But for some reason, Rain did nothing.

    “Rain…?”

    “Huh?”

    “No glass?”

“I don’t know how to do it!”

At Rain’s answer, Shine’s and my faces turned pale.

    Yes, that’s right.

The thing is, none of us here know how to change window glass.

    It was a big deal.

As soon as I solved the biggest problem, another one caught up with me.

    “Oh, what should I do?”

The three of us, no, the four of us including Chuchu, put our heads together and tried to come up with a good idea.

After a long moment of silence, Shine suddenly stood up as if something had occurred to her.

    “Shine…?”

“The broken part is different from the other parts.”

Shine mutters as she walks towards the window.

    She continued:

“Then you can make other places the same way.”

    no way.

I got up from my seat in an awkward position.

Because I could roughly guess what Shine was going to do.

    “Rain. Help me.”

Shine walked over to the bed, pulled the fluffy blanket over it, and placed it under the window.

It was as if he was trying to catch something that fell from above.

“What, what can I help you with?”

“I’m going to remove all the windows.”

    “Won’t I get in trouble more…?”

“You can just say it wasn’t there to begin with. Amy won’t think it’s strange since Grandpa changes the interior often anyway.”

When I heard it, it seemed like it was true.

I nodded and hugged Chuchu’s large body.

    “Ugh. I don’t know…”

Rain raised his hands with a tearful face.

A round drop of water floated in front of her hand and began to spin rapidly.

    “I really do it?”

    “Yeah. I’ll trust Rain.”

At Shine’s words, Rain sighed as if it was burdensome.

But there was no other way.

    “Cheer up, Rain!”

    Woof woof!

Chuchu and I also cheered for Rain.

The only person who could save us now was Rain.

The water droplets gathered in front of Rain’s hand begin to grow larger.

As Rain stared at the glass window for a long time, a small line shot out from the water droplets that had been gathering in front of her.

A stream of water extends out silently and brushes against the glass window.

Immediately afterwards, the glass fell onto the blanket in a square shape, as if cut by a sharp knife.

Lane repeated the action until he had cut through all the glass.

A cool breeze flows in through the window where the glass has disappeared.

Rain sighed and threw the water droplets that had gathered in front of him out the window.

The water droplets flew away with a whoosh and burst, spewing water in all directions.

Shine rolled up the quilt full of glass and put it in a large treasure chest.

I looked at the cleaned window.

    It was transparent.

A vividly colored sky hung in the window.

It was a truly perfect operation.

The four of us looked at each other and smiled faintly.

It felt like our relationship had become closer.

“Then I guess I should put it back where it was?”

I said, lifting the glass that Rain had been holding.

I was the fastest person here, so it was right for me to sneak over and get it.

He asked Lane, slightly surprised by the rather heavy weight.

“Rain, where did you get this?”

    “Yeah. That’s…”

Rain tilted his head, as if he didn’t quite remember.

“Just tell me roughly which floor it came from, I’ll take care of the rest.”

“Yeah. Then I think it was the 5th floor.”

I nodded and walked towards the door.

Now, if we just bring this glass, the perfect crime will be completed.

That was the moment I thought so.

    Click- click-

    Suddenly the doorknob started moving.

I looked at the door with trembling eyes and thought.

Did you lock the door when I came in here?

    Click-

The doorknob turned and the door began to open.

As time passed slowly, I swallowed dry saliva.

Through the wide open door, bright light comes in.

    A woman with pink hair.

Amy stood there, her arms full of things.

A bright smile and anticipation on the face.

When he brought gifts to me and Shine, he often made that face.

    “I’m here~”

    Victor stood behind Amy.

He too was carrying something in his arms.

I felt like time had stopped and I couldn’t do anything.

Amy opened the door and stepped inside, then tilted her head to the side when she saw me.

Her gaze slowly scans the room.

Then it flies towards me again.

Her gaze was directed straight to the glass I was holding.

    “Jeff?”

    “Huh?”

“Why are you holding that dangerously?”

    “Ah. That…”

I carefully placed the glass on the floor.

    Gulp-

    I heard someone swallowing saliva.

Victor, who was about to come inside, saw that the atmosphere inside was not good, so he poured out the things he was holding onto the bed and left the room.

    Knock knock knock-

The sound of Amy’s shoes made a cold sweat run down my back.

    Kkiing-kkiing-

Chuchu let out a weak groan and trudged to the corner.

The tail, which had been spinning like a propeller, was between the legs.

I took a deep breath and looked behind Amy.

    The door was unlocked.

That meant there was still a chance to escape.

I gave a hand signal to Shine and Rain.

But the two girls shook their heads with pale, tired faces.

“Guys. Didn’t I tell you to wait quietly? ”

Amy said that and walked past me.

The place she was headed to was a window seat.

Amy approached the window and extended her finger.

Amy looked slightly surprised as her fingers passed through the broken window.

    It is now.

I kicked the ground and leapt forward.

    Phagejik-

Due to the ability that was instantly raised, blue lightning burst out from his body.

Oh, I have to run away!

I have to go to my grandfather!

That was all I could think about.

The moment my body flew away in an instant, my outstretched hand lightly touched the doorknob.

A white aura flew in from behind and engulfed my body.

I feel completely drained of strength.

The blue lightning surrounding my body disappeared in an instant, and my body, consumed by the white energy, was pushed away without strength.

    “Eww!”

    Baekwang.

    It was Amy’s ability.

The White King’s aura moved gently, blowing me towards the bed.

It flies weakly and rolls around on the bed.

I quickly get up and look at Amy.

She was extending her fist in my direction.

Amy’s expression was smiling, but there were veins protruding from her forehead.

    I’m angry.

    Amy was upset.

I held my head with a sad face.

Maybe it wasn’t a honey chestnut.

I felt like my butt was on fire again.
