Chapter Index

While Shine was showering, I dressed the doll in her pajamas.

Since I didn’t have any underwear, I didn’t forget to prepare underwear.

The pure white underwear matched well with the doll’s white skin.

“Did you even put on underwear?”

    “Yes.”

“I guess you like that doll~”

    “Isn’t it pretty?”

Amy changed into comfortable pajamas and sat down on the bed.

She reached out and stroked the doll’s hair, then took a comb and began to comb the doll’s hair.

    “There’s something tangled.”

“It looks like Shine got tangled up while playing with dolls earlier.”

    “Really? Shine played with dolls?”

Amy asks, as if it’s unexpected.

    I nodded to her.

Even though she was an adult Shine, she was still a girl.

It was impossible for a girl of this age not to be interested in dolls.

    I like it too.

I hugged the doll wearing soft dinosaur pajamas.

That night was as ordinary as any other night.

Except that Shine slept hugging her doll.

I regained a faint sense of consciousness and got up from the blanket.

Looking around in the dark atmosphere of the dark room, I saw Shine and the doll’s bodies entangled.

Judging by her disheveled clothes, she must have had a dream all night.

I reached out and unbuttoned Shine’s shirt.

What if I catch a cold while sleeping like this?

She was a perfect older sister, but sometimes she showed me that she needed to be taken care of like this.

After properly fixing the doll’s clothes, I headed to the bathroom.

Waking up earlier than usual brought on prolonged yawning.

Stand on the step and open your mouth wide.

Slightly closed eyes and head shaking back and forth.

As expected, I still needed sleep.

It’s not even a school day, so why are you waking up so early?

It was a moment when I was worrying whether I should brush my teeth or not.

    Knock knock knock!

    [Jeff~ Shine~]

    A familiar knock and voice.

    The chick has arrived.

    It’s too early.

I left the bathroom in a daze and checked the clock on the wall.

    6:20 am.

It was a time when the morning announcement hadn’t even been made yet.

If it was your usual rain, it would mean you would still be in bed.

    Knock knock knock!

When there was no response, there was another knock.

I felt like I would wake up Shine and Amy who were deeply asleep, so I walked to the front door and opened it.

Click – With a small noise, the lock is released.

At that moment, the door opened wide at a frightening speed.

    “Ouch!”

Beyond the front door, Rain was standing as expected.

Her face was impressive, with bloodshot eyes and deep dark circles under her eyes, as if she had not slept well all night.

    Did he work overtime?

“Rain… What’s going on at this hour?”

    “That, that…”

When I asked, rubbing my eyes, Rain muttered in embarrassment.

When I asked him why he came, he seemed to not remember.

“Umm… Shine and Amy are sleeping, so you have to be quiet.”

I let Rain into the room.

At the mention that Shine and Amy were still sleeping, Lane moved quietly.

There was no sound as Rain walked, moving only on the tips of his toes.

    “So what’s going on?”

“Uh, yeah. That, that’s right. That’s. Right.”

    The blue eyes shake ceaselessly.

I could tell her gaze was directed towards the bed.

The bed, that is. To the doll on it.

Only then did I understand why Rain had come so early.

“Is it because of the doll?”

    “Ah, ah! Eung…”

As if my words had hit the nail on the head, Rain nodded, wincing.

Judging by the fact that even his ears were red, he seemed quite embarrassed.

I shook my head and patted Lane on the shoulder.

“There’s nothing shameful about playing with dolls.”

    “Uh, uh…”

    Pat pat.

He pats her small shoulder vigorously.

It was only natural for a little girl like Rain to play with dolls.

Considering his age, you might be a little puzzled.

I walked over to the bed and grabbed the doll from Shine’s arms.

Sseuuk- sseuuk- A sound similar to the one I heard yesterday is reproduced.

He approached Lane, holding the doll in his arms.

She looked at me, or rather, the doll, with trembling eyes.

“Okay. I decided to lend it to you.”

    “Wow…”

Rain, who received the doll with her mouth wide open, suddenly started sniffing it.

“Smells like Jeff…smells like Shine too…”

“Of course I made her wear my clothes… Shine slept with me all night long…”

I nodded in response to Rain’s words.

It was only natural that the doll would smell like me and Shine.

    “Clothes…”

“Yeah. I put my clothes on. Even my underwear. ”

    “Cow, underwear too?”

“Yeah. Even if it’s a doll, it’d be empty without it.”

Rain nodded vigorously at my words.

Then he started to watch me.

I nodded and smiled slightly at the sight.

“You want to go quickly and play with dolls? It’s okay, go ahead.”

It was quite exciting to have a new toy.

Since I could understand Rain’s feelings, I decided to let her go.

After hearing what I said, Rain shook his head wildly and left the hallway carrying the doll on his back.

I looked at that sight and thought.

How much must you have wanted to play with dolls to come here so early in the morning?

    Without even sleeping.

I checked my watch and headed straight to bed.

Since I still had plenty of time to spare, I decided to sleep in for a bit longer.

I crawled onto the bed and snuggled into Shine’s arms.

The empty spot left by Shine holding the doll was so empty, so I decided to fill it.

Shine naturally stretched out her arms and hugged me.

Her arms were warm and so cozy.

    Just like Amy’s arms.

Would it have been like this if I had a mother?

    ***

    “Rain is on vacation?”

    “Yeah.”

When I got to the office, I heard some shocking news from Victor.

I couldn’t believe that Rain was on vacation.

Victor and Amy were the only people who actually worked on Team Harmonize.

This meant that Rain, who usually sleeps after work or plays with us, had no reason to take a vacation.

“Looks like you have some business to attend to.”

Victor didn’t think much of it, but I didn’t.

He returns to his seat, folds his arms, and becomes lost in thought.

Why on earth did Rain take a vacation?

    That too, today.

“Isn’t it because of the doll?”

I shook my head at Shine’s words.

Even if it was Rain, there was no way he would take a vacation just for playing with dolls.

“There’s no way you’re taking a vacation just to play with dolls.”

    “Or else.”

    “Hmm…”

    I thought.

I was thinking about going to Rain’s room.

    But I shook my head.

Going to the home of a colleague who is on vacation only serves to interrupt their vacation.

    It was a bad idea.

But I can’t help but be curious.

Sit on a chair and swing your feet back and forth.

    Lunchtime has arrived.

After the four of them, excluding Rain, had lunch at a restaurant, it was time for a break.

I headed to Rain’s quarters alone.

As expected, I couldn’t find what I was curious about.

It has been said that curiosity killed the cat, but I was not a cat.

    The cat is Prince.

There were many people walking around in the hallway, as if enjoying a break during lunchtime.

I avoided their gaze and moved stealthily towards Rain’s quarters.

In front of the door with the chick sign.

    Arrived at Rain’s room.

I went up to the wall near the door and put my ear against the door.

    But I couldn’t hear anything.

    Baby.

What we needed at times like this was little Amy, mine and Shine’s baby.

The baby appeared in front of me in a small form, responding to my call.

A small smile appears on my face at the sight of her fairy-like appearance.

“Hi, Mom, can you do me a favor?”

Little Amy nodded, yawning heavily, and summoned her witch’s hat and cloak.

Chijijik – I was amazed at the wonderful sight of the little sparks flying around.

As if he was asking us to trust him, as if he could grant such a request at any time.

Why does a confident expression look so cute and pretty?

Is this what a mother feels like?

    A smile flowed out continuously.

“Tell me what Rain is doing in this room.”

Little Amy nodded at my words and jumped through the crack in the door.

Shushu-shu – The little witch’s body disappears in an instant.

She was a really trustworthy baby.

How much time has passed like that?

Little Amy came back through the crack in the door.

    With the axis hanging down.

It was quite a contrast to the lively appearance he had had just a moment ago.

I tilted my head at the sight.

Normally, the information would have been delivered directly into my head.

But now, no information has come flying in.

What this meant was that little Amy had intentionally blocked information.

Little Amy, who had been flying slowly, staggering and looking shocked, falls limply into my hands.

She was trembling and pulled her hat down tightly to block my view as if she was afraid of the situation beyond the door.

    “Baby?”

    Dismissal- Dismissal-

As if to tell her not to ask any more questions, little Amy crouched down, sending out sparks.

What on earth did you see…

“Show Mom what the baby saw! Is Rain sick?”

    Dori dori.

The little witch’s head turns quickly.

As if she could never tell, little Amy disappeared.

I breathed a sigh of relief.

Still, it didn’t seem like Rain was sick.

I crossed my arms and stared at the firmly closed door.

What on earth is happening beyond that door?

I was quite, no, very curious.

I wanted to kick open the door right now and go in to check the situation inside.

    But that couldn’t be done.

Because I was a great adult who knew how to take care of my teammates and friends.

Now it was time to step aside so that Rain could have some time to herself.

I turned my body like that.

    A day without rain.

Team Harmonize’s work went on as usual without any problems.

    The next morning.

When I went to work at the office, I was able to meet Rain with a pale face.

The dark circles under her eyes and bloodshot red eyes from lack of sleep told her that Rain’s condition was not normal.

    “Rain…?”

“Doll… I put it over there.”

I approached the doll at Rain’s words.

The doll returned looking cleaner than when it was lent to me.

Even my clothes seemed to have been washed, as the dinosaur pajamas smelled of fabric softener.
